Wrong title edit

There is a mistake about the tittle of this article. It's not Canon but Camion équipé... Somebody can rename this article in Camion équipé d'un système d'artillerie. Thx. Traeb from french wikipedia

In service with French Army edit

Hi, this system recently (July'08!) entered service with the French Army, however I don't see that commented in this article. Will make an entry for this fact, supported with a source I found this week. Regards, DPdH (talk) 23:07, 14 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Deleted part of the deployment info edit

The deployment paragraph included: ", or even by a CH-53 helicopter" as a possible transportation for the unit. The CH-53 has a rated 'useful load' of 8,000 lbs, 4 tons, and the CAESAR weighs over 17 tons. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oceaxe (talkcontribs) 04:31, 9 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page edit

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Sherpa 5 or Sherpa 10? edit

The French page and the 1st "External link" => Caesar Renault Sherpa 5 Nexter wheeled self-propelled howitzer write "Sherpa 5". -- WikiMax (talk) 11:53, 2 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

What is Calibre? edit

  1. What does the “52 calibre” signify?
  2. What units does the “52 calibre” employ?

--Ronbarak (talk) 18:08, 19 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

It is a badly phrased reference to the lenght of the cannon. The cannon is 155mm in diameter and is 52 diameter in lenght, thus 8060mm. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.56.33.6 (talk) 09:32, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
Added link to explain the meaning of caliber/calibre in this context. --William H Temps (talk) 22:52, 23 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Saudi Arabian Service edit

The CAESER SPG is used by the Saudi Arabian National Gaurd against Houthis in Yemen. Why there is no mention to this, while the article mentions only the usage against civilians. عمر خالد 8888 (talk) 10:43, 18 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Range? edit

Nothing about range in infobox.

As a non-professional I wasn't sure whether "operational range" is the same as ballistic range. It seems that "operational range" refers to the truck. What is the correct term for projectile range? Both of them absolutely belong in the infobox. German Wiki indicates up to 50 km for projectile range. Arminden (talk) 14:06, 22 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Russia obtained at least 2 of these howitzers edit

Reportedly from corrupt Ukrainian soldiers, and they allegedly paid €118,000 per unit. This should be written into the article. They were sent to a Russian military hardware manufacturer for analysis, documentation and retro-development. -- Alexey Topol (talk) 20:15, 6 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Do you a have a WP:Reliable source? Independent French media debunked a similar claim: https://www.tf1info.fr/international/guerre-en-ukraine-des-canons-caesar-francais-ont-ils-ete-interceptes-par-les-russes-2224207.html (in French). -- Le Petit Chat (talk) 21:31, 6 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Do you have a reliable link with at least one convincing photograph of those 2 CAESARs, or even only one, which would allegedly be in the hands of the invaders? Last time I checked, the word "reportedly" was not qualifying as a reliable source, or even a source at all. -- FabBar (talk) 10:33, 25 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Base bleed OR ERFB? edit

The article originally referred to "Base Bleed ERFB ammunition"; I have edited the text somewhat but not changed that as I don't know what's correct. However, "base bleed" and "ERFB" are quite different concepts. I suppose it is possible for them to be combined, with the advantages of both. Maybe somebody who knows and has a source can say perhaps "using both base bleed and ERFB" or whatever's correct. Best wishes, Pol098 (talk) 13:10, 29 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

It uses both, I've amended and added a source. Pol098 (talk) 15:53, 29 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

France donated 18 edit

A news report 30 November contradicts the 30 donated to Ukraine by France, claiming it was 18 and that Ukraine bought 12 directly from the company. [[1]]. I think it is probably a more accurate report. Ânes-pur-sàng (talk) 22:20, 16 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Modification of number of canons in Ukrainian Army (i'm new in wikipédia) edit

Good morning

I'm new to Wikipedia (French user) and would like to edit the Caesar canons page.

Indeed, several sites based on Nexter's statements indicate that Ukraine received 6 more cannons this year.

This would therefore increase the total number of guns given by France from 30 to 36. The 6 guns would be part of the 78 planned by the artillery coalition (six that Ukraine had purchased directly)

As I told you, I'm new and I don't really know how to modify, integrate a link, and especially put the right number (since each link has a number)

I'm sending you the sources in this message so you can tell me what you think, and explain to me how to make the changes.

thank you^^
