Bowser Jr.'s Bandanna Confusion edit

I changed Bowser Jr's description that said he wears a bandana with drawn on fangs. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Bowser Jr's trophy description clearly states that he wears a bib. --Jmurdock21 (talk) 20:49, 23 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Actually, that was an error. He wears a bandanna, as was clearly stated in the next Super Smash Bros. game where that was corrected. WickedBowserJr (talk) 01:57, 19 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Links Question edit

Any 1 have any links to anything that stats, by nintendo that Bowser Jr. is his name? Rlk89 02:34, 16 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Play any Mario Sports title that features him? --HeroicJay 06:08, 30 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Why do you need a link to state that? It's in the source material the character is from. WickedBowserJr (talk) 01:57, 19 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Bowser Jr. or Bowser, Jr.? edit

I've only seen "Bowser Jr.". Also, I certainly haven't seen "Bowser Koopa, Jr.", but I have seen "Koopa Jr." for the original Japanese name. Using it as a full name seems unsourced.

Presumably that is his name, but it shouldn't be used here as he has only ever been referred to as 'Bowser Jr.' in-game. I would agree that using the name seems unsourced. Makron1n 16:17, 11 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Baby Bowser/Bowser Jr. edit

What's the difference between Baby Bowser and Bowser Jr.?Goodgirldv9898 20:18, 24 February 2007 (UTC) Bowser Jr. is one of Bowser's children, Baby Bowser is Bowser as a child. Koopa Kid is Bowser's henchman. -- Lord CrayakReply

I'm not entirely sure it's that clear cut. Nintendo seems to be deliberately confusing the matter by introducing time travel in both Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, and Yoshi's Island DS. I would definitely hesitate before listing them as two separate characters. (Fryguy64 15:39, 5 June 2007 (UTC))Reply
Why EVER would Nintendo name Bowser as a baby, Bowser Jr? It is a FACT that they are seperate characters, fore the oldest we've seen Baby Bowser is in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, where Baby Bowser looks most like Bowser Jr.

EDIT: Another thing, WHY would Bowser go back in time to bring his younger self to the present to tell himself that Peach is not his mother? Klaus Kratchet

Bowser Jr. and Baby Bowser are very much explicitly separate characters. Baby Bowser is Bowser himself in the past, while Bowser Jr. is Bowser's son in the present.WickedBowserJr (talk) 01:58, 19 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:ShadowMario.jpg edit

Image:ShadowMario.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:48, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Redirect? edit

Why is this page a redirect now? 'He doesn't deserve one' is not really an adequate reason for me. Androids101 (talk) 23:23, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi, take a look at Koopalings#Reception for a good example of what is needed in this article. Wikipeida's notability policy states that only subjects which have significant coverage in third party reliable sources are deemed notable enough to have a full article. Bowser Jr. does not have enough significant coverage, so he must stay in the list until some is found. I will break down the sources to let you know why they are not acceptable.
  • 1. eNotes. Mirror of Wikipedia.
  • 2. IGN stars. Okay source.
  • 3. IMDB. Users submit information, so not reliable.
  • 4. First party source. Okay to source things, but doesn't help notability.
  • 5. Kidzworld. Doesn't look like a reliable source
  • 6. Funtrivia. Same. not reliable.
  • 7. Nintendo Wiki. User submited information. Not reliable.
  • 8. IGN guide. Okay source.
  • 9. Nintendo website. Again, good for sourcing, but not for notability.
  • 10. Super Mario Wiki. User generated information. Not reliable.
  • 11. SiliconEra. Normally a good source, but I am given the feeling that because it was written so long ago, they probably aren't considered reliable for stuff back then.
  • 12. An image? From Mario Wiki? Double nope. Images are not reliable, and wikis are not reliable.
  • 13. eNotes. Same as the first source.
  • 14. IGN stars. Same page as source 2.
Soo, you have two good sources, which really aren't the best. If you look at the section in the character list, it has these sources:
  • Thomas, Lucas (August 23, 2007). "Smash It Up! - Second Bananas". IGN. Retrieved March 29, 2010.
  • "Top 10 Nintendo Characters That Deserve Their Own Games - Page 5". GameDaily. Retrieved 2009-08-07.
  • October 03, 2008 (2008-10-03). "Gallery and Images". GameDaily. Retrieved 2010-08-05. {{cite web}}: Text "By: Chris Buffa" ignored (help); Text "More" ignored (help)CS1 maint: numeric names: authors list (link)
So you have 5 good sources. Find twice as much and Bowser Jr. might can have an article. Until then, he belongs in the character list. Thanks, Blake (Talk·Edits) 15:59, 23 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Article "Issues" edit

So, the templates that the article has issues was put up. What can be done to help that? Can I add citations from the source material and official media the character is from? That is as "reliable" as it can get when it comes to information about a fictional character. I'll do that later if that's alright.WickedBowserJr (talk) 01:58, 19 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

@WickedBowserJr What do you mean by source material and official media? 👨🏻‍💻 Rng0286 (☎️ talk) ✍️ conts ;) The Iconfactory “is everywhere” (☑️ rights) Kinopid'oh! 02:03, 19 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Exactly what it sounds like. The source material for a Mario character are the video games they appear in and any other official material/products such as books and instruction manuals. WickedBowserJr (talk) 20:14, 19 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

@WickedBowserJr You could do that, but the article also needs to have WP:Secondary sources in it alongside “the source material and official media” (or WP:Primary sources as we call them here.) 👨🏻‍💻 Rng0286 (☎️ talk) ✍️ conts ;) The Iconfactory “is everywhere” (☑️ rights) Kinopid'oh! 02:59, 20 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

What you sent describes real life historical events, but when it comes to a fictional character, what is said in official material is objectively the case. What secondary sources could I get about a fictional character and how would they be any more reliable than a primary source in this case? Thanks for your feedback so far!
