At 160 metres (520 ft) in length, the platforms are the longest in Berlin. edit
The article says:
- At 160 metres (520 ft) in length, the platforms are the longest in Berlin.
That doesn't sound that long for a railway station. I'm sure that the mainline platforms at Hbf would be longer than that, as this would limit IC trains to less than 8 coaches.
On the other hand I note that the info was added at the same time as the cite to J. Meyer-Kronthaler, Berlins U-Bahnhöfe, Berlin: be.bra, 1996. I don't have access to this book, but the title suggests that the statement may have originally been written in the context of *just* U-Bahn stations. I cannot verify this, but if you access have access to the source and I'm right, could you add the appropriate context.
