Might it be a good idea to use {{sfn}} for the citations so that they can link to the references? This would also require the references to use {{sfnref}} in the |ref= parameter. Chris the Paleontologist (talk • contribs) 15:58, 8 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
I'm perfectly happy with the current citation system - I've used it in over 40 Featured Articles and 80 Good Articles. It's simple enough for new editors to pick up, something that can't be said for the more complicated template based systems. Ealdgyth - Talk 16:05, 8 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
