== Instead of "The Highway Men", it should read "The Highwaymen" and link to the country supergroup.

I enjoyed the level of detail this article provides and would like to see it remain. edit

== I think the associated acts are wrong. Little Feat is probably the closest match to these guys.

Why is there no link to Paul Goddard? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.119.230.91 (talk) 03:50, 5 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

What is the purpose of comparing them with Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Allman Brothers? Is it only because they are from the south? I believe it would make more sense to compare both, their style of music and level of success to Climax Blues Band or Ozark Mountain Daredevils. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Estreet1 (talkcontribs) 07:02, 29 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

The irony, of course, is that whenever the foregoing message appears, it looks like it's written by the poster, when it's actually Template:Cclean. "We must require all contributors to understand and comply," indeed!

What's this? edit

"Atlanta Rhythm Section (ARS) can be booked for southern rock concerts, weddings and private parties through GigMasters.com.[1]" What the hell is this in an encyclopedia article? I will remove it unless I hear of a compelling reason to keep it.Frankzappatwin (talk) 00:39, 9 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

plenty of roughness remains to be clarified edit

The glaring lack of reference citations -- for FOUR YEARS -- leaves most of the article dubious. At the moment there are six References, soon to be five when I remove the Atlanta Rhythm Section (ARS) can be booked for southern rock concerts, weddings and private parties through GigMasters.com part; four of the remainder are specific to deaths of musicians. The overall tone varies between thinly disguised self-promotion and breathless fangirl hyperbole. I am not enough a fan to pursue all this properly, but will flag some landmines and do a little cleanup.

Buddy Buie, the band's manager and producer and co-owner of Studio One, is listed first on almost all of their songwriting credits. Doesn't seem a good fit so close to the top of Early Career. Also strongly implies that the relationship remains to today -- true?

Buie's manager, Jeff Franklin -- like, the manager's manager?? His role seems more of label liaison, an agent or something.

Goddard's unique bass playing (achieved by playing with a pick rather than finger plucking) -- utter barking nonsense, a great example of this article's flaws. https://www.bing.com/search?q=play+bass+with+a+pick

Noted Christian Music artist and Southern rocker Mylon LeFevre -- noted in what way, by whom, and how many centuries ago? And what EXACTLY is meant by "Southern rock," considering the subsequent Though ARS is frequently referred to as a Southern rock band... bit.

Too much for too late. Another day, perhaps.

A suggestion for those who keep attempting to use this article as free advertising: if you want to make ARS look good, then clean up some of the mess. For instance, you could create a Timeline for personnel, or a proper discography (including singles) with chart info, on the order of The Allman Brothers Band discography.
Weeb Dingle (talk) 04:29, 30 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Yep, I cut the link to Gigmasters booking agency AGAIN. If you want an online connection, then make the case that your site is somehow a credible source for info on ARS, and cite it in the Wikipedia article, maybe even multiple times. Until then, it's (at best) extraneous to the article.

I may cut the opening mention of the present-day lineup.
That "members" list glaringly ignores the FOUNDING lineup, so maybe it ought to be deleted as irrelevant &/or useless &/or misleading. It could certainly be replaced to better effect by an actual TIMELINE of membership. resolved

Some genius created an excellent timeline in List of Atlanta Rhythm Section members. Yay!!
