Artnet link edit

So I found this link on artnet that shows that Almquist made sculptures not of athletes. [1]. Since that is a listing of recently auctioned works, it is neither a reliable source nor a substantial mention, at some level I am assuming that this the same Angar Almquist, there is not really enough on that page to be sure it is refering to the same person.John Pack Lambert (talk) 01:51, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • The Swedish version of this article has more substance, 2 images neither of which is the one here, more substance, and if it mentions the Olympic Art participation at all gives it little space. I am not fluent in Swedish, so someone who is or who feels confident they can parse through what they get from a machine translator may want to look into this more.John Pack Lambert (talk) 02:12, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • I found this [2] which is DK Eyewitness Travel Guide - Stockholm" it mentions on p. 117 that Handelshoegskolan has a facade, stone reliefs and a statue of the god Mercury, all by Almquist. He also did a stucco relif with a lion gate based on one at Myceneae, in ancient Greece. It is 1 sentence, although fairly long.John Pack Lambert (talk) 02:28, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • A google book review turns up a large number of mentions, but these are often about specific works in specific places. If there is a good place to go that is a reliable source that will give a good bio of a sculptor I do not know. The Swedish Wikipedia article has the details to suggest it is out there, but I would like to see them sourced more clearly to a reliable source before I add them, but others may want to rush in on that.John Pack Lambert (talk) 02:34, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
