Photography Issues

Not happy with the photograph. The "half-aircraft" effect is unsettling and "facing" it into the article doesn't work particularly well as the lead photograph. I have moved it down to the "collapse" section of text it illustrates. It would be great to have a good sharp picture for the lead of an aircraft facing left. --Jumbo 10:28, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

Infobox Issues

The {{{2}}} {{{3}}} is not vandalism or anything like that, but a thing that has appeared when I put on the airline infobox. Can someone please remove it, because I do not know why it is there.--M Johnson 08:47, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

Regional Entities and survival post collapse

This article fails to mention that ansett subsiduries Hazelton and Kendell Airlines did survive the collapes of ansett know know as Regional Express (Rex) Airlines. (unsigned comment)

Ansett Australia

AUD?!

Can we remove all the references to money with the A or AUS or AUD on them and put a tag at the top saying all prices are quoted in Australian dollar cause reading it and seeing all the prices with the A infront is quite irritating, I would understand if the bulk were in another currency but it seems pointless to have ALL the money with AUD tags, Taifarious1 04:48, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Many of the destinations need to be disambiguated. I have done a few, but don't have the time or the knowledge to do them all. I would note that with Australian place names, it is almost always best to link to [[Placename, State]], in order to avoid linking to either a disambiguation page, or (for example with Tamworth) to a place in a different continent. Doesn't this article deserve a dishonorable mention to the former CEO Gary Toomey? Looks like his is now the CEO of Airlines PNG, god only knows how he landed that job. Ansett (talk) 08:50, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Disability discrimination

This airline was extremely bad at discriminating against disabilities! News Corp ownership

Lots of interesting history missing.

Wot about the Catalina flying boat services to, for example, Lord Howe Island? This was pioneering stuff in its day. And the association with MMA (McRobertson Miller) in Western Australia. The disastrous strategy of Peter Abeles of purchasing virtually one-off planes because they were available cheaply, which left Ansett with an almost unmanageable variety (and maintenance burden) of aircraft. Absurd comments

"Ansett Airways remained a bit player as TAA and ANA battled for supremacy in the 1940s and 1950s. TAA, being blatantly favored by the then Labor Federal Government (which had unsuccessfully attempted to nationalise all Australian domestic airlines), better managed and having better aircraft partly as a result of the Federal Labor Government granting access to U.S. funds to TAA, whilst refusing them to A.N.A., had driven ANA to the verge of bankruptcy by 1957."

Well the "then Labor Federal Government" lost office in 1949, which was a year after TAA was established. So any Government favouritism against ANA, leading to ANA being on the verge of bankruptcy in 1957, would be the responsibility of the Liberal/Country Federal Government which was in office from 1949 and throughout the 1950's.Eregli bob (talk) 07:31, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

Ansett was a bit player in terms of aircraft. However, Reg had made a shoot load of money out of US military contracts during WW2, and was concentrating on road transport, and manufacturing.
