Important Missing Elements edit

I just got back from the museum last week. There is a very important part of the museum that this article neglects. Namely, the parts that are not allowed to be filmed or photographed by the public. There is a large underground tour of Ataturk's personal belongings, his life, important generals, important battles. There is a gigantic painting of Ataturk on a horse. The museum is a reenactment of the War of Independence, complete with loud nationalistic chorale songs, loud gunshots and graphic images. It's meant to be a shocking experience, and a very pro-nationalist walkthrough.

There are huge sculptures of Ataturk, which are placed at the ends of long hallways--so one has time to approach them. Then there is also the mausoleum itself, which is guarded and placed behind a thick, air-tight wall while monitered by a moving camera.

Yes, Anıtkabir sure can fight in the same league with the gigantic/romantic structures of the socialist world. I visited the place for two times and they were both breath taking experiences. By the way, if other Wikipedians agree on your concerns, we can add them to the article. Deliogul 09:34, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rating edit

The referencing needs to be improved before rating at C or B.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 10:07, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

File:Anitkabir.HB.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion edit

An image used in this article, File:Anitkabir.HB.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request
