Neutrality edit

This article seems to have been written from the point of view of the website it refers to. Even controversy tab seems more favourable towards the website. Does that mean that the website has never faced criticism , or has always been correct? Articles about news channels/ media should show a neutral POV which seems to be lacking here. Pl. Provide an unbiased article before removing the neutrality tab. Niv.eno.nesohc (talk) 12:52, 5 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Niv.eno.nesohc, could you specify what you're taking issue with? WP:NPOV refers to " representing fairly, proportionately, and, as far as possible, without editorial bias, all the significant views that have been published by reliable sources on a topic." The article almost exclusively uses independent sources as citations for its material. Tayi Arajakate Talk 13:49, 5 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Alt News does Manipulated Fact Checks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Just another Wikipedian editor (talkcontribs) 13:42, 30 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected edit request on 17 June 2021 edit

This so called fact checking agency have been caught red handed on many occasions spreading fake news in the name of fact checking. The co founder Mr Zubair is known for deleting such tweets with apologies on more than 5 occasions and there is enough substantial proof on twitter to mark this agency as manipulating media house.

Altnews and it's co-founder Mr. Zubair is summoned by Utter Pradesh police recently and Mr. Zubair have been absconding since an FIR against him and 9 other Fake news Peddlers like Arfa Khanum Sherwani,The Wire, Rana Ayyub, Dr Shama Mohammed, Saba Naqvi, Maskoor Usmani, Slaman Nizami for spreading fake news to break India's communal harmony.

Mr. Zubair posted a muted video and claimed that a Muslim Oldman was thrashed by the Hindu people ( while police confirmed that only one of them was Hindu and rest were Muslim) and made to chant Jai Shree Ram. Going by the logic either Mr. Zubair muted the video intentionally or he was over excited to get a chance to malign the name of Shri Ram and at the same time Target Uttar Pradesh BJP led Government as general election in Uttar Pradesh is in 2022.

I request to Wikipedia to mark AltNews as Fake news Peddlers and Mr. Zubair as well.

The screenshots of this request are going to twitter as well, so be cautious when or if you ignore this request. It's not a threat but as Wikipedia is accused of having left leaning ideology it's just the need of the hour.   Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. -- DaxServer (talk) 20:17, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Note: (I was about to mark this as not done, but there was an edit conflict. I'll add my comment here in case it helps.) This is not the correct place to discuss the reliability of sources. A good place to start would be here  A S U K I T E  20:19, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Controversy edit

Why keep removing controversy tab ?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sreenivasan KG1 (talkcontribs) 06:54, 27 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

On August 7, 2020, co-founder Mohammed Zubair responded to a hostile message from a Twitter user with a tweet containing a version of the user's profile picture depicting a man and the blurred face of a girl. In the tweet, Zubair asked the user, "Does your cute grand daughter know about your part time job of abusing people on social media? I suggest you to change your profile pic." The Forum for Indigenous Rights—North-East India filed a complaint regarding the tweet to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, which escalated the complaint to the Delhi Police on August 8 and accused Zubair of "harassing and torturing" the girl. On September 7, the Delhi Police and the Raipur Police filed first information reports (FIRs) against Zubair and two other Twitter accounts who supported him.[1][2][3] Zubair described the complaint as "absolutely frivolous" and indicated that he would prepare a legal response.[1][2] Sinha considered the FIRs "a form of targeting" by the Indian government in response to Alt News's fact-checking of misinformation[4] and noted that the user whom Zubair replied to had a history of attacking Zubair on Twitter.[5] Some Twitter users responded with the hashtag #IStandWithZubair in support of Zubair[6] and questioned whether he was being targeted for his Muslim identity.[7] The Delhi High Court, on September 9, instructed the Delhi Police to refrain from taking "coercive action" against Zubair while the investigation is ongoing.[8][9]

In 2021 an FIR was filed against Alt News co-founder Muhammad Zubair for Malicious attempt to communalise Ghaziabad assault case using Twitter which claimed that a Muslim person was attacked due to his religious belief and was forced to chant Hindu slogans. Mohammed Zubair edit

Stop redirecting Zubair's page to Alt News.AltruisticHomoSapien (talk) 19:37, 27 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Have we created an independent, stand-alone page for Mohammed Zubair yet?? he has got an NYT mention [1], a BBC mention [2], and a Washington Post [3] mention apart from hundreds of mentions in Indian media. AltruisticHomoSapien (talk) 07:44, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Zubair's arrest edit

At the moment, the arrest doesn't belong here as no sources say AltNews is related, but only that he founded AltNews. As such, this content is out of scope for AltNews article. @Amitized Please self-revert, the content is reverted several times — DaxServer (t · m · c) 13:06, 28 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

I agree with DaxServer and also don't see relevance of details about the arrest of this person on this article. According to sources he used his own personal account to make those posts, not AltNews' official account. The content about his arrest should be removed. REDISCOVERBHARAT (talk) 10:35, 2 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
as no sources say AltNews is related - I can see numerous sources which establish a causal relation between the persecution by the state and AltNews' mission. TrangaBellam (talk) 18:28, 2 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
The thing is a search for Zubair redirects to the Alt news page giving an impression that its his alter ego. Even @AltruisticHomoSapien has pointed this out. Hence I updated. This issue is also happening for J Sai Deepak's page directing to his book page India that is Bharat (book). Someone from redirects can look into this. Amitized (talk) 06:11, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

He is sent to judicial custody for receiving foreign funds in the account of parent company of alt news pravada media should this be added? Wikiwizardinho (talk) 16:39, 2 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your comment above is a BLP violation. Note that BLP policies apply to talk pages as well. I strongly advise you to add an "alleged" to your comment and read through the guidelines I posted on your talk.
On the actual question, no, not until the allegations are held up by courts. Hemantha (talk) 16:43, 2 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
