Talk:Aleksey Nikolayevich Tolstoy

Bias edit

The article is heavily dependent on quotes from Nikolai Tolstoy's work, but Nikolai Tolstoy is a well-known enemy of Soviet communism who might be biased against one of his (distant) relatives who was much lionized by those whom he despised. This seems to be rather lacking in balance - or even a character assassination. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.226.118.10 (talk) 17:30, 22 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Article omits to note that Tolstoy was a collaborator in the Stalinist suppression of truth and art as described in Victor Serge's ''Memoirs of a Revolutionary, a well-known writer and communist critic of the the Stalinist nightmare. - Aharenan 2601:199:301:75F0:C50:D0BB:EE20:F0A0 (talk) 21:40, 12 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Old talk edit

Under the works section, this is listed: Lirika, a poetry collection (1907)

However, the link to Lirika goes to a "Grunge & Acoustic Rock band." I'm assuming this is not where we want the link to go. Maybe someone who knows more about Tolstoy can create a disambiguation page with info about the novel.

Spelling edit

Why does this article have the seldom - though etymologically preferable - spelling of the author's name? Does this conform to Wik policy?

Not at all. Let's move it to Aleksey Tolstoy --Ghirlandajo 16:45, 2 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
Good. Do it!

General problems edit

The article doesn't stick to a spelling of Mr. Tolstoy's name, it sometime randomly usues initials instead of the name, and it lacks proper grammar. It could use a total rewrite in my opinion, and if it isn't done by sometime later tonight or tomorrow I'll probably try to do it myself. Tev 21:46, 13 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Family edit

Why not mention his son Nikita (who was a reasonably notable physicist) and gran daughter Tatyana Tolstaya? I saw Ghirlandajo, first mentioned Tatyana, then reverted himself, so there should be a reason, I just do not know which. abakharev 22:13, 14 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

The Hyperboloid of Engineer Garin edit

There is clearly something wrong when an article has two different translation of the same work and two different publication date. Someone knowledgeable should correct this. Mhym 02:20, 25 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Selected works edit

The Family of the Vourdalak (Sem'ya Vurdalaka) was written by another russian writer, Aleksey Konstantinovich Tolstoy, in 1839. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.122.138.185 (talk) 08:49, 25 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

The list of selected works is very short. I prefer to have all his important work listed here. If somebody has time, please do. Andries (talk) 11:14, 4 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Peter the First edit

Is this not the same author who wrote Peter the First, first published in 1944? Why no mention of this?
