The Cuisine Tabled Monster edit

That cuisine abomination needs to be more relevent to Indengious cuisines to be used. The same argument happened when people put it up on the Japanese Cuisine page. --Rakista 06:39, 30 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Project Japan Template edit

Ainu people have their own religion, and it is very disrespectful to Ainu posting a message including an image of another religion's symbol (Shintonism's).--216.64.10.2 16:06, 23 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

In which case the issue should be whether or not the image is appropriate for the template, instead of whether the template should be there or not. Phonemonkey 19:44, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
The torii is used because it is almost instantaneously identifiable with Japan. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 01:04, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Recipes/Dishes of Note Section edit

"The potato flour made with this process can be easily stored for at least twenty years." I don't think that is possible. Potato flour normally has a shelf life of six months (without loss of nutritional value). Citation? 65.30.180.228 (talk) 21:06, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Tokyo edit

According to this volume, the Rera Cise linked to in this article was closed in 2009. A new Ainu restaurant, Harukor, was established in 2011 near Shin-Okubo station. However, the most recent online reference to Harukor I can find dates to 2013, which notes something about a planned relocation. Does anyone know if Harukor still exists? If it does, where is it currently located, and does it have an official website that could be added to the list of links in this article? --Nerroth (talk) 16:22, 4 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Page Overhaul / Translation edit

I am going to be working on overhauling this page, partially from translating the Japanese article but I'm also thinking of modeling it on the Native American Cuisine article. The Japanese article includes a lot of folklore/mythology and cultural information that I feel is only tangentially related to cuisine so at the moment I will hold onto that info but perhaps push it into a different article in the future. My overhaul may take some time though, and I appreciate any input/suggestions on the best format and what info needs to be included. Erynamrod (talk) 08:42, 12 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Japanese Words Needed? edit

There're some Japanese words for the ingredients and things, but is this necessary? I'm including the Ainu words, if available, and of course, the English but do we really need the Japanese? It feels a bit insulting, almost like we feel a need to place the Ainu in relation to the Japanese which is unnecessary. I don't think it increases understanding of an English only reader, and anyone who knows enough Japanese to want to know the Japanese word can look at the Japanese article. Any thoughts? I'll probably start removing it if there are no major objections. Erynamrod (talk) 10:26, 12 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
