is this for real?? --It's a genuine bootleg, for whatever that's worth. I've listened to it and it is in fact rather underwhelming except as a historical document. Hardly a Beatles reunion or anything, even if it is often billed as such.

Funny, I found 2160 Internet references to this boot. True, it isn't all it's cracked up to be (I owned a copy, which vanished when a former housemate wanted get-in-trouble money), or even terribly interesting... but I'd hardly say there are "no citations" of it out there. In regards to needing a citation, I remember this interview with Paul back in 1997; it was a town hall-type interview. It was on VH1 and was hosted by John Fugelsang (or whatever his name is), and somebody asked Paul about this, and Paul confirmed that it did indeed happen, and the tape went missing, and jokingly said, "I'd like to have it please." Fugelsang replied (as best as I can remember), "I'm sure you'll have a bunch of tapes in the mail in the next few days!" --Cooleyez229 07:04, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi - it was my understanding (based on The Record Plant web site) that the last place Lennon and McCartney recorded together was at the old Record Plant location in Los Angeles on 3rd Street near LaCienega. Date/Place

The jam took place at Burbank Studios -- not John and May's beach house. It was on the first night of the Nilsson Pussy Cats sessions -- which was March 28, 1974. Hotcop2 03:16, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

At Record Plant on 3rd Street ?

Hi

I might be in the minority here, but this might have actually been recorded at the Record Plant on 3rd Street, in Studio B. At that time Stevie Wonder had a long time deal to use Studio A there, and since he is on the recordings that seems likely to me.

The session is described in the 1983 book "Loving John" and also in the 1990 book "The Art And Music Of John Lennon". Paul and Linda arrived unexpectedly at the old Record Plant on Third Street. Harry Nilsson and Stevie Wonder were both working on albums there. May Pang, who was there and actually booked the studio, first wrote about it in 1983's Loving John, but didn't say which studio. She clears it up in her photobook, 2007's Instamatic Karma, as Burbank Studios. The original Pussycats album credits BURBANK STUDIOS (in all caps) and Record Plant (for later remixes by Dennis Ferrante). Initial recordings were at Burbank, and this took place literally after the initial recording of the initial recordings. Whatever else Stevie Wonder was doing, he was at Burbank Studios on March 28th 1974.Hotcop2 (talk) 12:51, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
