Separate article for Portland's Resistance edit

Do editors think there is enough coverage to justify an article for Portland's Resistance? ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:17, 12 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Calling someone an anarchist edit

Trying to edit history is a joke. I was at theses protests and trying to label the splinter group that caused violence anarchists, is fabrication. OMEGAUNIT (talk) 19:59, 12 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

The article does not say they were anarchists, but that they were "described as anarchists". A reliable source verifies this fact. Nevertheless, it may be that this characterization may belong in the details of the article rather than the lede. If a consensus of editors agrees that this quotation belongs further down in the article, it should be moved further down. Thank you for working to improve WP content. Only CNN is using the term anarchists local media is using the term anti Trump supporters or protestors. You cannot edit history to make it seam as if these people were not anti Trump and pro Hillary there fore the would not be anarchists they would be for government ran by Hillary. OMEGAUNIT (talk) 20:37, 12 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
According to the NPR article you cited, OPB says they appeared to be "self-described anarchists". It seems reasonable to also mention that they are anti-Trump, so I included that details also. But again, it may be that not all of this belongs in the lede. Thanks again for adding new reliable sources. By the way, you may find it helpful to learn more about how to add citations. But in the mean time, there are lots of others who can add the markup once the source has been identified. Thanks again for working to improve this encyclopedia. I did some minor copy editing to the lead. While relevant to the motivation of the rioters, it is not necessary to describe them as anti-Trump twice in the same sentence. Juneau Mike (talk) 04:41, 13 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

This makes me sick you all are trying to rewrite history to fit your narrative. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. I was at those riots and those people were yelling fuck Trump elect Hillary. They were pro government. Anarchists do not want any form of government. OMEGAUNIT (talk) 20:39, 21 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Stop editing to rewrite history edit

I was at these riots and to try and label the violent protesters "anarchists" is absurd. These people were Hillary and Burnie supporters. To try and quote CNN who wasn't there is absurd. Trying to rewrite history to fit your narrative is tragic there are numerous news agencies that are local saying these people were pro government, just not one with Trump as president. Propose new title and scope edit

In November 2016 there were extensively-covered protests in Portland. During that time, some incidents were referred to as "riots," some more authoritatively than others. (For instance, a CNN headline read "Anti-Trump protesters march for 3rd night; Portland police call it a 'riot'" -- that is, CNN reported that police called it a riot, which is not the same thing as CNN reporting that it was a riot).

I'm not proposing to remove coverage of the "riot," but rather to retitle the article to 2016 Portland, Oregon protests and add sourced information about the protests that were not riots, to provide greater context for what is already in the article. -Pete Forsyth (talk) 18:22, 7 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

The 2019 Portland riot edit

Is there an article for the 2019 riot?[1] The Portland police declared it was a riot, although less people were arrested than the 2016 riot. Waters.Justin (talk) 16:29, 2 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Waters.Justin, I don't see anything in Category:2019 in Oregon. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:41, 2 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Antifa and left-wing not mentioned edit

Why are antifa and left-wing not mentioned anywhere in the article?Aussiewikilady (talk) 15:45, 15 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
