This is the list of Bundesliga top scorers season by season.[1] Since 1966 a miniature artillery sponsored by the German football magazine kicker is awarded to the top scorer at the end of the season. It is formally named "kicker Torjägerkanone" (kicker top scorer cannon). Gerd Müller holds the record for most goals in a single season at 40. With seven wins he is also the record holder for the most awards won. The latest recipient of the award is Robert Lewandowski, while playing for Bayern Munich.
