List of the highest major summits of Canada

(Redirected from 4000 metre peaks of Canada)

The following sortable table comprises the 150 highest mountain peaks of Canada with at least 500 metres (1640 feet) of topographic prominence.[a]

Mount Logan in the Saint Elias Mountains of Yukon is the highest peak of Canada.

The summit of a mountain or hill may be measured in three principal ways:

  1. The topographic elevation of a summit measures the height of the summit above a geodetic sea level.[b]
  2. The topographic prominence of a summit is a measure of how high the summit rises above its surroundings.[b][c]
  3. The topographic isolation (or radius of dominance) of a summit measures how far the summit lies from its nearest point of equal elevation.[d]

Five major Canadian summits exceed 5000 metres (16,404 feet), 11 exceed 4500 metres (14,764 feet) elevation, 19 exceed 4000 metres (13,123 feet), 41 exceed 3500 metres (11,483 feet), 69 exceed 3000 metres (9843 feet), and 125 major summits exceed 2500 metres (8202 feet) elevation.
