2020 San Francisco 49ers season

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Donnowin1 (talk | contribs) at 11:19, 2 November 2020 (→‎Week 9: vs. Green Bay Packers). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

The 2020 season is the San Francisco 49ers' 71st in the National Football League, their 75th overall, and their fourth under the head coach/general manager tandem of Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch. The 49ers entered the season as the reigning NFC champions; however, after a 43–17 loss to the Miami Dolphins in week 5, they failed to improve on their 13–3 season from 2019. They will still attempt to become the first team since the 2014 Seattle Seahawks to win consecutive NFC championships, as well as to become the fourth team in league history to win the Super Bowl the year after losing it, after the 1971 Dallas Cowboys, 1972 Miami Dolphins, and the 2018 New England Patriots. The team failed to match their 13–3 record from last year as a result of a 37–27 week 8 loss against their division rival Seattle Seahawks.
