03:45:16, 3 February 2019 review of submission by Harshita Catherine

Good Day! I was trying to create a Wikipedia page for a famous Indian stand- up comedian who has 99.3k followers on Instagram, 89k followers in youtube and 95k followers in facebook. He performed various shows across the country and had a world tour too. He was a judge in one of the famous shows called Comicstaan where he received the best mentor title. I kept all the required documents that are necessary. I couldn't get through further as I got a letter that the submission was declined 2 months ago but I just started writing my article 2 days ago. I wish to know what else I could do to improve my article so that I could publish on Wikipedia. Thank you! Harshita Catherine (talk) 03:45, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Harshita Catherine - the article you're trying to create on Naveen Richard was previously drafted and submitted by Donsanickal. Two months ago, when it was submitted by them, it was declined. The declined draft is still occupying the draft space for Naveen Richard which is why you are getting that message even though you, personally, never wrote the article. You can add whatever content you'd like directly into the existing draft by simply overwriting the current content and resubmitting it. Naveen Richard undoubtedly passes the WP:GNG based on the wide coverage he's received in WP:RS and should be eligible for a WP article but the previous draft, which was declined, contained no sources. If you can properly source an article on him you should have no trouble getting it approved. Chetsford (talk) 05:20, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I believe this deserves a re-reveiw because I was not told why it was rejected an I think this article is helpful and informative. Esmé Aberdova (talk) 03:52, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Esmé Aberdova - I've re-reviewed it, per your request, and concur with the original reviewer, Boothsift. Your article was rejected because it was WP:OR. Chetsford (talk) 05:11, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Chetsford: Thank you. I have also responded on their talk page. Happy editing--It's Boothsift 05:15, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

My first article! Problems: 1)I accidentally published it prematurely so it needs standard review--sorry! Please pull it down if you can. 2) the article title "Draft:Alan Ray" is wrong, it should read just "Alan Ray"--can you correct this for me?

Marcom4321 (talk) 04:44, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Marcom4321 (talk) 04:44, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Marcom4321 - the article space "Alan Ray" is currently occupied by a redirect to "Allan Ray". An administrator will have to delete the redirect before your page can be moved. I've submitted a CSD request for that to occur but it might take a few hours at which time it will be doubtful I'll still be around but someone else should be able to assist you. Based on the sourcing, Alan Ray probably doesn't meet the GNG but he does probably qualify under WP:NACADEMIC as the penultimate administrator of a tertiary institution of higher learning. Chetsford (talk) 05:31, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Done I have moved the draft to Alan Ray per Chetsford's request. De728631 (talk) 16:06, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to be a pertinent enough person to be included in Wikipedia. Appears on many other pages in wikipedia currently, yet unlinked/sourced from those pages. Would like advice how to add more information to be reviewed and approved

104.172.13.130 (talk) 06:00, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi IP editor- "Would like advice how to add more information to be reviewed and approved" - currently there are no reliable sources in the article. To be approved you'll just need to add some. Examples includes things like profile pieces in the Chicago Tribune or GQ or Variety or biographies published on him by reputable publishing houses like Oxford University Press or Random House. So if you can drop a few of those into the draft and resubmit, we can get it to mainspace ASAP. Chetsford (talk) 08:22, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have entered detailed information for publishing my page at Wikipedia. My life and works would be a great motivator for many to pursue life's goals against daunting odds. In the interest of contributing to societal good, please help me publish my struggles and achievements in my six decades of my life's experiences. Please guide me with specifics what more I need to submit to fulfill the criteria. Please send me all such to my registered email id drmurugesanr#gmail.com Thanks.

Murugesan Ramalingam (talk) 06:01, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Murugesan Ramalingam. All Wikipedia articles must be based on reliable sources that are WP:INDEPENDENT of the subject of the article. The article you submitted has no such sources. In the absence of sources, Wikipedia would not be able to help you publish your life's struggles. However, there are a variety of self-publishing options available such as lulu.com and CreateSpace you might want to investigate. Best - Chetsford (talk) 08:15, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

At the outset, I wish to thank you for your efforts to help me out here.

Rising from scratches as a poor kid not having even a square meal a day, I had to work as a child laborer to supplement for the survival of my family unable to afford to attend formal education.

With my fully authenticated article here, I wish to motivate hundreds and thousands of hapless poor folk that great things in life can be achieved with sustained "lifelong learning" and committed service to societal good.

Please help me create my article at Wikipedia for everyone on the globe to refer to. You are welcome to advise me clear guidelines at my registered email id drmurugesanr at gmail.com on how to enable me meet further requirements.

For heaven's sake, please don't reject my profile as a matter of routine/ritual!

Thanks again, Dr. R. Murugesan Murugesan Ramalingam (talk) 07:53, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Murugesan Ramalingam. All biographies of living people on Wikipedia must be sourced to a minimum of one reliable source (though this is an absolute minimum). The article you submitted has zero sources in it other than one which is not WP:INDEPENDENT of the article's subject. If you are the subject of the article, you may also want to read WP:AUTOBIO. I am not aware of any other living person that had solved a 35-old open problem. Please read references or the main article contact process (mathematics)!

@Rmor312: Please read WP:NACADEMIC. Google Scholar indicates this isn't an academic who has been widely cited.

WikiGeoffrey (talk) 12:00, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi WikiGeoffrey. I see that you formulated a question at the Teahouse and received good answers there. The draft's sourcing is a mixed bag. The Japan Times and The Complete Review are reliable sources, but Wikipedia shouldn't be citing nihondistractions.blogspot.com or goodreads.com, because they aren't reliable sources. --Worldbruce (talk) 14:52, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I got good and clear answers. Thanks Worldbruce also for this specific feedback. It is my first article to draft and it is all becoming clearer now. More references is not better, an overreaction to the feedback. Have deleted Goodreads and added in more clearly Nikkei Asia Review (from publisher of the owner of the FT) also Mainichi Shimbun one of Japan's prestigious newspapers. Will also delete nihondistractions.blogspot.com. Do you think I have done enough now? I have spent too much time on one post and am thinking of stopping now and then waiting to see if I can find a few more references in the next few weeks or so. Is that a sensible approach to follow? --WikiGeoffrey (talk) 15:08, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have created this page based on the structure and content of articles such as Media of Syria, Media in New York City and Media coverage of North Korea.

I would just like to ask, should the page stay at its current location, or change to Media of Jammu and Kashmir? ("of" or "in"?) Regards. DiplomatTesterMan (talk) 14:26, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User:Eugenia Sawin - Creating multiple copies of drafts does not usually increase the likelihood that your draft will be reviewed sooner. Your drafts have a conflict of interest. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:37, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@114.142.169.20: - this article is about something yet to occur, which Wikipedia generally avoids as we can't be reliable about something that might change. I'd suggest waiting a month and then adding some suitable references. Nosebagbear (talk) 16:53, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I've added several reputable industry sources, magazine sources, as well as a journal and newspaper article. I have also removed images that had no copyright release. Please let me know what else I could do to improve this article and get it ready to be published. Potatowrite (talk) 23:16, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
