Say do you remember, reporting in September edit

Do you remember 2017 in September?
Clowns and criminals were the rage among pretenders
While hurricanes were blowing away

And two years later, things are going the same way again. A new tropical cyclone, another installment of It (even if unlike what the Report promised back in 2017 it was held from the top spot by another thing present that month, and just about every other: our friends in India) while having some other thing about clowns (from American Horror Story: Cult to the Joker solo movie) , and another show on Netflix about people on the wrong side on the law (back then was Narcos, now it's #13 Mindhunter) - our streaming overlords also provide a fantasy series (#16), countered by another such show on Amazon Prime Video (#17). There are also entries for another mainstays of the ninth month, the US Open of tennis (#6, #10, #14, #19), and Labor Day (#24), which ironically was absent from that 2017 report I'm using as a starting point. Recent deaths (#8, #15), sports (#9, #11) and movies (#21) complete our list.

2	It Chapter Two	1,412,997	Pennywise the Dancing Clown is back (after two years in our world, 27 in the movie's) to strike terror on both a small Maine town and moviegoers worldwide as the latter half of Stephen King's doorstopper of a book is adapted. Reception hasn't been as warm as part 1 (#23), specially as the near-three hour running time is borderline abusive, but it\It still translated to an opening of $185 million worldwide.
3	The Bahamas	1,238,811	A beautiful Caribbean archipelago nation that has just been devastated by the strongest hurricane on record (#7), with damages estimated at $7 billion.
4	Joker (2019 film)	1,017,268	Last year, a Marvel Comics villain got his own movie divorced from its superhero, and the results were disappointing. DC's attempt to do the same seem to have better results, as the origins movie for Batman's archnemesis has been winning viewers and awards at the festival circuit, which certainly makes viewers all the more eager for the wide release of Joker in October.
5	Chandrayaan-2	1,009,099	India's second lunar probe is still in the Moon's orbit, though its rover component has faced problems following detachment and possibly had a hard landing on the satellite.
6	Bianca Andreescu	837,190	It's been a good year for Romanian tennis players: Simona Halep won Wimbledon, and now Bianca Andreescu (who has Romanian parents) got her first Grand Slam title in the US Open. And both beat the same player (#10) in the finals!
7	Hurricane Dorian	789,760	Only in 1935 there had been a hurricane as strong, with winds of up to 295 km/h (185 mph). Dorian ravaged the Bahamas (#3) on full force, caused lesser impacts on Florida, flooded the Carolinas, and eventually got stronger as it hit Canada.
8	Deaths in 2019	759,275	Die, Die, Die My Darling!
9	2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup	673,468	For the first time in 52 years, basketball holds its world championship in a year separate from its football equivalent. It's being held in China, who has visibly not been same ever since Yao Ming retired and crashed in the preliminary round.
10	Serena Williams	581,360	The youngest of the Williams sisters has done so much in tennis (39 major titles, 23 on Grand Slams!) that she could just retire to raise her daughter. But no, she keeps on at 37 and is still reaching big games - even if this year, it has been two Grand Slam finals lost to young Romanians (#6).
11	Antonio Brown	572,513	After a long tenure in the Pittsburgh Steelers, this American football player would begin a new chapter in the Oakland Raiders... if Brown hadn't started to butt heads with the management and ultimately asked to be released, ultimately signing with the defending champions.
12	UFC 242	572,056	The latest mixed martial arts event, held in the UAE and with Khabib Nurmagomedov (pictured) defending his belt.
13	Mindhunter (TV series)	544,587	Viewers are still looking up the Netflix show about FBI investigators who request the help of serial killers to get other murderers. Later this year, expect more recent history-related entries with the return of another show.
14	Naomi Osaka	542,842	In spite of entering the Flushing Meadows courts as the defending champion, this Japanese tennis player got out of the US Open in round 4.
15	Robert Mugabe	526,280	Two years after being ousted out of the presidency of Zimbabwe by a coup - after all, during his decades in power the economy was ruined, and there was also widespread corruption, anti-white racism, and human rights abuses - Mugabe died at 95 while receiving medical treatment in Singapore.
16	Carnival Row	511,993	Amazon Prime Video banked on the creators of The 4400 and Pacific Rim to create a neo-noir fantasy show starring Cara Delevingne (pictured) and Orlando Bloom.
17	The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance	504,554	Speaking of fantasy streaming shows, Netflix continues to revive old properties by making a prequel series for Jim Henson's 1982 cult classic The Dark Crystal.
18	Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan	501,871	Let's return to India, where Teacher's Day brought attention to the country's second president, whose birthday has been used for said celebration since 1962.
19	Rafael Nadal	476,747	In contrast to the US Open female champion (#6) having never won a Grand Slam before, the male victor got his 19th, and his fourth in this tournament alone!
20	Wayne Williams	467,747	The latest season of Mindhunter (#13) revolves around the Atlanta murders of 1979–1981, for which Williams was convincted (he claims to have been framed for it).
21	Once Upon a Time in Hollywood	460,682	Quentin Tarantino directs Margot Robbie (both pictured), Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio in a revisionist piece on the Tate murders.
22	Kailasavadivoo Sivan	458,824	The whole situation with Chandrayaan-2 (#5) has brought attention to the chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation, who for understandable reasons is better known as Dr. K. Sivan.
23	It (2017 film)	447,997	In 2017, a horror movie impressed viewers enough to rank among the year's highest-grossing films and Wikipedia's most visited articles. And now its\It's follow-up is in theaters (#2).
24	Labor Day	426,148	While most countries celebrate International Workers' Day in May 1, the United States and Canada instead go for this version in September.
25	Joaquin Phoenix	421,588	The brother of the late, great River Phoenix has already built a name for himself with movies such as Gladiator, Walk the Line and Her, and his performance in Joker (#4) has generated some buzz that like Heath Ledger, Phoenix could get an Oscar for portraying the Clown Prince of Crime.
