Aaeon

The article in discussion, Aaeon, was deleted for G11, Unambiguous advertising or promotion. The article was written with a neutral point of view. The summary of the article contains no language that attempts to influence or persuade. It was purely informational, as is the content in the Product Line and Milestones section. Both section were written based on information gathered from their website but are not written in persuation, but purely facts. I am also in the process of incorporating additional information from various third-party sources. Please reconsider in the deletion of the Aaeon page. -Joyeung109 (talk) 20:59, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Not done. You think that "one-stop shopping services to minimize the customer's effort... top industrial-grade Cloud technology... non-gap design makes the PC easy to clean... strong and reliable performance... will go wherever the job takes you... " is not "language that attempts to influence or persuade?" Sorry, you are either too close to your subject or you have been too long in the PR business. That is pure advertisement - in fact, I am not surprised to find that it is copied straight from the company's promotional website at http://www.aaeonsystems.com/products/ruggedtab.php etc, so it would also qualify for speedy deletion as a copyright violation. Wikipedia is not a noticeboard to pin companies' marketing literature to, it is an encyclopedia. JohnCD (talk) 21:45, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Pea bean

Deleted after a PROD in February 2011 when I was 13000 miles from my computer. It is clear that the taxonomy was/is wrong and needs researching but the Pea bean is clearly in existence, it is sold by many seed merchants , I grow it for food but it was deleted because of its uncertain taxonomical affinity. I have no problem with a restoration and immediate conversion to a redirect to Green bean or alternatively it could be usefied to my namespace so that I can work on it. Without restoration, as a non admin,I cannot access the original text or history. I have already raised this with the deleting admin NuclearWarfare but s/he appears to be on a wikibreak. I will update my message there to reflect the posting here. Many thanks  Velella  Velella Talk   12:58, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

London Vale

Hello,

I am a professional model and actress who began working professionally at the age of four in numerous national advertising campaigns. You can find proof of Warner Brother's feature film and FOX series credits dating back to 1995 on IMDb. I took some time off to study my craft further, pursuing an education in acting and art at Columbia University in 2002, and the University of Notre Dame and London's Globe Theatre from 2004-2008, and have been working as such full-time since 2008. Please see the link to below to the cover of Notre Dame magazine, which contains an article regarding my recent projects. My modeling work has been published nationally in 2010 in US Weekly Magazine, also linked below, in which I was featured in a two-page advertisement spread for Verizon Wireless and the movie Inception wearing a couture gown by the Walter Collection. I have also been featured in an eight page editorial in Swoop magazine Fall 2011 and another two page article on a Los Angeles fashion show I walked in is featured in the Spring 2012 issue of the same magazine. I am represented by The Gage Group and Betwixt Talent in Los Angeles as an actress, and Elysium Agency as a model, all professional agencies based in Los Angeles. My full portfolio is available on my website at www.LondonVale.com, and my acting credits can be checked on the IMDb. You can view my full acting reel and resume at LACasting and Breakdown Express. My acting reel is also available on my website. Please let me know if you'd like to request to view full versions of the films in which I've acted. I would appreciate it if you could kindly restore my Wikipedia page, as the information posted on my page is correct and there is sufficient information to support that fact.

Best,

  •   Not done - As announced at the top of the page, this process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially and has no applicability to articles deleted after any deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marco Cremona, it cannot be undeleted through this process. Nevertheless, if you believe that the consensus found at the discussion was in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Kevin (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. On your references, Wikipedia pages are not counted as reliable, and anyway the section that mentions the artist has no references. The galleria page is not an independent page. We need multiple independent and reliable sources. Perhaps you can find a Maltan newspaper article about him. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:02, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Deleted per Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2012 January 20#File:Toposa in action.jpg but with "with little or no participation other than the nominator" (as Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion mentions), and probably more or less uncontroversial to restore. Reason for undeletion: The file meets plausable educational use under Commons:COM:SCOPE, but I didn't catch that it had been deleted until a related file came up for deletion. Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2012 April 12#File:Toposa.jpg is the related file's discussion, which gives a more detailed reason for this file to be kept. That deletion nomination was withdrawn and that file is now File:Vaca toposa.jpg on Commons. zenphoto

Hi, I'm new to this, apologies if I make a mistake.

I was looking up Zenphoto which is AFAIK one of the most popular CMS Gallery software. But apparently there is no article. There must have been one that got deleted by mistake - it was a one-click install on dreamhost until recently. Sure enough, It was deleted by 19 June 2011 User:Courcelles for the reason "Expired PROD, concern was:...notable..." I don't know what was in the article before it was deleted. But I do know this is significant FOSS. I'm surprised the article has been gone for so long. I don't know a lot about Zenphoto [that is why I came here] maybe it is less popular now for a reason? Maybe it got forked or the developers tried to put advertising on it? But that should be written up in the article, not deleted IMHO.

I did a google search for "most popular gallery software" and the first hit talks about the popularity of zenphoto. Also, wordpress has 6 plugins for zenphoto. I don't know what else I can argue to prove that it is notable? If you search wikipedia for zenphoto you get no article [because it was deleted] but you get several hits - because people use it to host photos that are linked by wikipedia! I don't know what metrics are used to determine notability but it seems that one of the top photo gallery software should be included. Piwigo is, and so is Gallery2. Those are the other two main ones I know of.

Thanks for your time. Apologies if I'm not putting this request in using the proper channels. Please tell me how better to do this request if I'm not doing it right. Thank you.

I recently updated our company page and attempted to upload a new company logo. I was alerted that our page was deleted. I was not aware of any errors nor did I intentionally add content that could be construed as advertising. If you undelete this page I will review to ensure unbiased content and remove anything not fitting the criteria. The intent was to add new information about the company and links to articles and new website (www.mbx.com). In doing research on Wikipedia to find out why my page was deleted I learned several guidelines to follow while editing a page. Our company page has been on Wikipedia for more than 5 years, and the updates were not intentionally made for promotional purposes. Thank you for your consideration.

Distribution America

there are two or more versions of this article which have been deleted. I am the author of the most recently deleted article, and have never seen the older version(s), so I don't know which version is the best to restore. Mainly, I am just asking the responsible administrators to engage with me on a talk page, rather than ignore me, or template and delete without responding to me. Distribution America is a notable co-op, and in my previous attempts at communication, I explain why. See the talk page of the most recently deleted version. Thank you. -Wbm1058 (talk) 16:20, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

Maybe you can restore the older deleted version to my user space so that I can try to fix it so it's not blatant advert? Wbm1058 (talk) 16:24, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
Done. Your article was a single sentence "Distribution America is a hardware store retailers' cooperative" plus a list of members and a list of competitors. You need to show why the subject is notable in the article. We get more than one new article a minute, very many of them about absolutely non-notable people, bands, companies etc; there is no time to write an individual explanation for each one, and the template you got gave links to WP:CSD#A7, the reason for deletion, and WP:Notability, the guideline that shows what's needed: references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject."
I have restored it to your user space at User:Wbm1058/Distribution America where you can work on it. You can see the older versions in the history, but I don't think they will help as they are mostly pretty spammy, "our combined buying power... enables our retailers to compete profitably" etc, - not surprising when written by users like Dacommunications (talk). coolnovo

The product is still being actively developed, with an english version. (see http://www.coolnovo.com/download.php?hl=en). The deleted page (http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/CoolNovo) still exists in 3 other languages within Wikipedia. (see http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/CoolNovo, http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/CoolNovo, http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/CoolNovo). This product should actually also be included in the Wikipedia page "Comparison of web browsers". -70.166.93.81 (talk) 21:51, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. I will notify user Mabdul (talk), who proposed it, in case he wishes to consider nominating it at WP:Articles for deletion. The article will certainly not survive in its present form, only one line and no references; you may be able to improve it with material from the other language WPs, though its presence there is not a compelling argument to keep it here, as each WP has its own standards. If the product is only still in development, it is quite likely that there will not yet be the independent comment about it necessary to establish notability. The Economist special reports list

No community discussion of deletion, and dispute that it is a 'trivial list'. If nothing else, would like a copy of the page to improve to Wikipedia standards. -Shaded0 (talk) 07:33, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request.. I will notify user Underlying lk (talk) who proposed it, in case s/he wishes to consider nominating it at Articles for deletion. I must say I am inclined to agree that this is listcruft; this kind of article rapidly goes out of date unless someone is interested enough to update it every fortnight, and the information is readily available at The Economist's website. JohnCD (talk) 13:45, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
After looking at the page I think I will agree with this. I'll update the reference in The Economist wiki page accordingly to link directly to special report page. I don't feel like the old special reports list really contributes too much. Shaded0 (talk) 18:21, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

Heaven's Not For Saints

Article was deleted last year after an expired PROD: concern was "No claim of notability with notability concerns unaddressed since August 2010, fails WP:NSONG". The song does meet this notability guideline, having reached #9 in the Norwegian charts [8] although this information may have been absent from the article. -Contains Mild Peril (talk) 02:35, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

Any files like File:EncinitasCitySeal.JPG & File:LA County DA Seal.gif

(Thanks for the two restores above, SkiierDude!)

Template:PD-CAGov applies now; this wasn't clear at the time they were deleted; legal precedent has changed. Thanks User:Skier Dude for undeleting those two! (The permission tags one sees at File:Seal_of_California.svg do too.) I'm not an admin. If an admin can look or if anyone can suggest a way to find some of the files worth undeleting that Template:PD-CAGov justifies - e.g. by doing a search through deleted files for PD-CAGov or the like, I'd appreciate it! I can't search through deleted files, but you can. Please don't mark this done or remove it, at least not for a while. It's only very slightly out of scope for this list; if no one wants to deal with it, it'll get auto archived. Seems a better place to ask than somewhere generic. --Elvey (talk) 20:34, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

In fact, this is a quite a famous award-winning company, Olin Partnership; check the backlinks I've just added for its designs. List of Radcliffe and Maconie's Chain Tracks

The page was deleted for the reason that it has no encyclopaedic use, which is garbage. The feature is listed on the radio stations website but there is no way of easily searching for what has previously been played which the wiki page was able to show easily by sorting. This page was a source of reference for hundreds of listeners who contribute to 'The Chain' on a daily basis, ensuring to check the page before recommending a new track to be played, of which there are 3 per day, 5 days per week. The feature is the most popular part of R&M's show on one of the most popular shows on BBC 6 music. 82.34.233.253 (talk) 15:11, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

I don't know why this request is neglected. Per commons:File:The Simpsons Logo.svg, this logo must be PD, isn't it? -George Ho (talk) 07:02, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

It's been eleven days after first request, and this is the second. Is there something going on? --George Ho (talk) 18:31, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
Well, this has been deleted as Unused non-free media file. It has been replaced by File:The Friends Stage cropped.jpg which is on commons The main article has File:Friends titles.jpg. Do you intend to actually use the deleted file instead? Otherwise why worry whether it is uncontroversially free after you yourself challenged in the past its Fair use? Just a comment. --Tikiwont (talk) 18:05, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
Back then, I don't know whether it is copyrighted or not, so I put this under review. Then, however, I realize that The Simpsons logo is not copyrighted, as well, handwritten or not. The Simpsons logo was nominated for deletion in Commons, but the result was keep. In other words, Friends logo is not copyrighted because "The Simpsons" is not copyrighted, as well, so this should be undeleted and then moved to Commons without prejudice. --George Ho (talk) 23:13, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
Well, I don't doubt you're trying to do the right thing, but as you haven't answered my question regarding use, I respectfully step back here. --Tikiwont (talk) 17:11, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
What was the question? I mean, I used WP:NFR to determine its copyright status, not its fair use. Isn't that how a review works? --George Ho (talk) 17:23, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
Ah I see only now that after adding the di-disputed fair use rationale tag in 2011 you also brought it to NFR before coming here. Well you didn't link to the discussion, I'll do so now for the benefit of anyone willing to follow-up. The unanswered question was the first one. Obviously you can always upload it directly to commons if you see fit.--Tikiwont (talk) 20:32, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
Oh, yes, I intend to use the deleted file in Wikipedia because the other was a photoed plate sign and had no diversive colors; I hope that is for the first question. Also, here's another discussion. --George Ho (talk) 21:15, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

File:The Friends Stage cropped.jpg is tagged as public domain, even with the CC license. --George Ho (talk) 05:20, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

  •   Done - I've undeleted it, under the provision that you put it in use within 7 days. If it's not in use in 7 days, I will delete it again. I'm not sure this is PD-textlogo, but I'm not willing to fight it either, so if you feel it is textlogo, then please move it to Commons. If you feel it isn't textlogo, then it is replaceable by the logo you mentioned above. Magog the Ogre (talk) 07:59, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

The image was replaced by the logo from the Dutch version of Comedy Central Extra. However the article primarily focuses on the British and Irish channel which uses the deleted logo. The article created for the Webb Center at Old Dominion University was created to educate the masses, and the students of Old Dominion University about the student union of Old Dominion University. This includes the services provided within its doors as well as historical information about the Webb Center and its founding. The article is important because it will assist individuals with finding the information they need about the student union. This includes the services and retail locations, but also the links to these services. At present, it is not as easy as it could be to find important information about Webb Center. The "article" that was deleted was a piece of promotional garbage, full of marketing trash from its very first sentence ("comprehensive portfolio of Smarter Commerce solutions to help companies redefine commerce in the age of the customer").
