How to upload my first article edit

Hello, i have created my first article on martyr kusum in Wikipedia and published it.But i can not see it when i search this name in search box. please help me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RohitBastolasolu (talkcontribs) 02:05, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You created a sandbox, but it isn't yet suitable to be an article as there are no references to published reliable sources to demonstrate the notability of the subject. Please read the advice at WP:Your first article. --David Biddulph (talk) 05:59, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello I am a lawyer. I just saw Vinita Chatterjee mam's page marked under some disputes. Want to Resolve it. edit

Vinita Chatterjee is an extremely popular celebrity in Bengal. India. It pains me as an admirer of her work to see some flagged template. Please suggest me how to address the problems n remove them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2409:4060:2012:5D89:D9E2:B01B:8A74:17D0 (talk) 04:34, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a particular reason you thought it was necessary to mention that you are a lawyer? Before you answer, please read No legal threats carefully. General Ization Talk 04:37, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm. Perhaps they should meet VeronicaJoseph5 (talk · contribs), who was just blocked for disruptive editing at the same article. 2601:188:180:1481:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 04:38, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Help Desk volunteers. Experienced eyes are requested at Vinita Chatterjee. The article began life as a puff piece, there was an over-enthusiastic editor who was making some poorly-conceived changes, restoring problematic content, etc. They have been blocked for 31 hours, but they've issued a curse: "If u block me today saying related tomorrow 1000s of her fans will start editing the template as we honor her as our celebrity." Some more folks have shown up and some of the changes are poor. Semi-protection is in the works, but it wouldn't hurt if a few more eyes were looking at the article to help sculpt it toward something that doesn't read like a promotional brochure. That might free me up to do adminly stuff. Please also note that there is a helpful anon at 2601:188:180:1481:65f5:930c:b0b2:cd63 who was trying to bring order to that article as well. Thank you! Please remove edit

Please remove my name from the St. Laurence High School page. I am not affiliated with the school nor do I want to be associated with it in any way. Appreciate your cooperation. Paul Ladewski — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:244:4D00:E001:31CB:AC35:B547:FA4D (talk) 05:13, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No, sorry. We have no way of knowing that you are Paul Ladewski, and we have a cited source that indicates that Ladewski did in fact attend the school (and no reason to question it). General Ization Talk 05:22, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I notice that this IP editor has nevertheless removed the mention of St Laurence High School, and made several other edits to the article.
On the one hand, if the IP Editor really is Paul Ladewski, then he should not be editing the article directly at all, per Wikipedia:Autobiography. On the other hand, I'm not sure that the identity of the High School he once attended is particularly encyclopaedic, even if a reliable source is available. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 2.122.2.132 (talk) 10:00, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This attempt to remove him from the school's alumni list has been going on for at least seven months, and I assume this is just the latest attempt. It may have something to do with his Hall of Fame voting record. I added the ref showing his attendance when I first noticed this deletion.
If the IP wants to claim to be Paul Ladewski then he will have to contact OTRS and prove his identity.. Once he does so he would be able to make the deletion without a COI issue providing he can prove that the content is incorrect. Meters (talk) 22:38, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Edit undone edit

Why did you undo the additional information that I added to Josh Cantrell? All I did was add his full name, place of birth, and teams he currently plays for. I then added a link for a photo that I took.

@Cricketcan: Hello, the edits were undone by CAPTAIN RAJU. I'm not 100% certain why but they were using an automated programme top do so. That system seems to have identified the edits as a 'test' or an attempt to damage the encyclopedia. But I have little knowledge as to how it works. It may be that it 'spots' edits by new users that change basic information or are unsourced. I have pinged Captain Raju to this thread so they can comment.

How to add date of birth edit

On basis of voter id how can i add date of birth of a person? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nanikaleru (talkcontribs) 07:57, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Nanikaleru, see here. Regards --Serols (talk) 08:00, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Nanikaleru and Serols: Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons#Avoid misuse of primary sources does not allow the use of voter id. Do you have a published very reliable source? The sources I found say she was born in 1988 so I have removed the claimed date of birth. Such claims can be very damaging to an active actress even if they are correct, and they can be seen as defamation if they are wrong. PrimeHunter (talk) 09:35, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Aeroperu 603 infobox image edit

Hi all, I need some help resizing the main imgae here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeroper%C3%BA_Flight_603 could someone do that for me please? OrbitalEnd48401 (talk) 13:26, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@OrbitalEnd48401: As an example, I've added image_upright = 1.2 which makes the image 20% larger than normal. There's documentation at Template:Infobox aircraft occurrence. -- John of Reading (talk) 13:42, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much John!! OrbitalEnd48401 (talk) 13:43, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Image formatting in tables edit

Greetings, is there a way to shrink the images in the table of User:Jo-Jo Eumerus/Honolulu Volcanics? They are much too large at the moment. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 14:58, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jo-Jo Eumerus, couldn't you just set the number of pixels to smaller (e.g. [[File:Diamond Head Hawaii From Round Top Rd.JPG|200px]])? I can make an edit for you if you want, and you can adjust as needed. Let me know if this is not the kind of answer you're looking for. Cheers, --SkyGazer 512 My talk page 15:03, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
See User:SkyGazer 512/sandbox, this is what setting every image to 300px looks like.--SkyGazer 512 My talk page 15:10, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I would have thought that the easy way was to add "|thumb" to each image link. --David Biddulph (talk) 15:05, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, with 300px it looks better now. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 15:55, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
thumb is meant for images with captions. MOS:UPRIGHT recommends to use upright to scale after user preference instead of setting an absolute size. upright requires thumb or frameless so here you could say |frameless|upright=1 to get the same width as a thumb for the reader, without reserving space for a caption. Literature section of "Fleur-de-lis" edit

The section consists of a paragraph of examples of the symbol occurring in fiction, followed by a quotation from The Faerie Queene, with no prose preceding it. Is this appropriate?--75.110.35.108 (talk) 16:40, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I personally have no problem with the inclusion of a brief quotation from Spenser, which clearly includes a reference to the fleur-de-lis, in this section. What about it do you think is inappropriate? General Ization Talk 16:48, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Nothing really, it's just that, as I said, there was no prose preceding it, so it seemed a little tacked-on, but you're probably right.--75.110.35.108 (talk) 16:59, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If it was likely to be unclear to the reader why the quotation was included, I would agree, but see the reference by Spenser to "Flowre-deluce" within the quotation. General Ization Talk 17:05, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I'll take your word for it.--75.110.35.108 (talk) 17:46, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
