April 13 edit

I have accidently removed files on this page when trying to add one. Please fix and leave in the small spelling (along) improvement I made today as well. Sorry 120.147.56.55 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 00:33, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Converting all interlinks in a page to the names of the articles that exist in a different Wikipdedia edition? edit

Is there any tool available that is capable of taking any page on the English Wikipedia, which is full of interlinks to other English Wikipedia articles, and in an instance convert all of the interlinks to those whom exist in a different wikipedia edition so that the adjusted page could be used as the basis for a translated page at the other Wikipedia edition? (currently working on importing the giant 10,000 articles list at Wikipedia:Vital articles to the Hebrew Wikipedia, so such a tool would be very helpful right now. WikiJunkie (talk) 09:27, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

WikiJunkie, we have a translation tool (Hebrew version). I just tested it and it does seem to automatically do links when it can. Alpha3031 (tc) 10:40, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Alpha3031, I just tested it and it did not do any links. How did you manage to get it to translate links? WikiJunkie (talk) 12:21, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Alpha3031, Okay, I figured out how to do so, but the problem now is that it seem the tool is only available for articles in the mainspace while the articles I want to translate are in the "Wikipedia:" space. WikiJunkie (talk) 12:42, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
WikiJunkie, sorry, I'm not good at many languages and I was trying to figure out how take a screenshot to show how I'm doing things. Have you tried entering the page title into the search bar at the top, with the WP: prefix? It seems to work for me. Alpha3031 (tc) 12:50, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Seems that there is no way around this one but to temporarily upload the relevant text with links to an article in the mainspace and after the translation is done restore that article to previous version. WikiJunkie (talk) 17:30, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Cross Language Vandalism edit

Hi, we've had a problematic users jumping IPv6 addresses changing building ownership to "Anup Mandal" and/or "Government Company", as well as adding links to anupmandalcom.wordpress.com (see World One and Antilia (building) for examples). However, doing google searches forsite:wikipedia.org "Anup Mandal" and site:wikipedia.org "anupmandalcom.wordpress.com" if appears this is a multi language problem. Mostly in French that appears to have been all reverted, but also Marathi (not reverted yet done) Korean (not reverted yet done) Hindi (not reverted yet done) Chinesse (reverted).

Is there any place to report such cross language problems? And if any editors read Marathi, Korean, Hindi can they revert those edits and check for any others?   Done

KylieTastic, cross-wiki stuff usually goes to meta. Meta:SRG is the place to request global blocks, but according to their AN'ish noticeboard, if you want to report cross-wiki vandalism Meta:SRM is the place. Alpha3031 (tc) 13:08, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
globally blacklisted at meta. @Alpha3031: for domains to be blacklisted we recommend request to be placedm:talk:Spam blacklist. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:45, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Artist Photograph edit

I've submitted an artist bio for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Donley that has been removed. The photographer submitted copyright information following Wikipedia procedures, yet the photo has not been readded and no one has responded to me about this photograph. Is there someone who can help me with this? --Elizdonley (talk) 18:07, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Elizdonley:I see no evidence that an image was ever in the article. Where was the image, and what was its name? -Arch dude (talk) 20:03, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Template Message edit

Can someone please let me know how I can get the Template Message removed from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Donley? I have stopped editing the article and there have been significant edits made by different editors. All the material is cited and is neutral in tone. Can this please be removed? --Elizdonley (talk) 18:10, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You can post a note on the talk page. If nobody objects after some time, you can remove the banner. Ruslik_Zero 20:41, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Add a Roller Derby League edit

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_roller_derby_leagues#California

Auburn California Auburn Gold Diggers Roller Derby Located in Auburn California. Founded in 2012 Currently consists of 2 home teams and 1 travel team. Full member of Women's Flat Track Derby Association.

Loanladey (talk) 18:53, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Loanladey. Please note at the top of List of roller derby leagues it says "This is a list of notable roller derby leagues" (emphasis mine), not a list of any and all leagues. Does the Auburn Gold Diggers meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability, so that we could have an article about it? If so, then an article can be written, and a link added to the list. Otherwise, no, it should not be added. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, which has articles about notable subjects: it is not an indiscriminate collection of information. --ColinFine (talk) 21:51, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
