    • "the only occasion on which he has made a double century" could be "his only double century"
      • Done: changed as suggested.
    • "His 14 Test centuries have been scored at 11 grounds, with nine of the centuries being scored in England and the five remaining centuries all scored at different grounds. He has made a century in both innings of a Test match on one occasion, against the West Indies in 2004 at Edgbaston. He has been dismissed twice after scoring 90 but failing to go on to score a century, against India in 2001 and Australia in 2005.[5]" Overuse of "century" particularly at the beginning, and the second use of "ground" could be changed to "venue".

    • "Trescothick's 12 ODI centuries are the most scored by an English cricketer, four more than the next, Graham Gooch"... "the next..." what? "The next" would fit in better I feel if the sentence had been "Trescothick's 12 ODI centuries is the highest tally" but would be better to remove the "next" part.
      • Not changed yet, I have similar issues when writing it, but I'm unsure as to whether it would make sense if it isn't clarified that Gooch has the next most centuries. Just couldn't work out suitable wording.

    • the lead overall is slightly bullet-point-esque.
      • Again, not changed yet, I appreciate your point here and will have a look at it properly to work through, I'm not always the most fluid writer! Any help here would be appreciated.

    • A few other prose issues and grammar.
      • As with the previous point really.

    • "Test" column is a bit misleading IMO without "th" or "st" to illustrate you mean which Test in the series. Though I suspect you have done this because it is what Ponting's list does.
      • I'm not sure how much clearer having 'th' and 'st' would make it personally? Would invite other opinions on this.
    • Place the cricket archive link in the external links
      • Done: changed as suggested.
    • Is the cricket records box needed? I've always been inclined to include only nav-boxes in the articles they have in them.
      • All the other lists of this type have this box. That doesn't make it right, but for consistency until a discussion/concensus is made, I'll leave it there.

  • "Trescothick failed to score a century in his three Twenty20 Internationals" makes it sound like it's a failure on his part IMO, which isn't really fair on old Marcus since only one player has yet managed that. Maybe a reword?
    • I originally had 'and did not make a century in any of them,' but this was changed by Aaroncrick to the current wording. I agree with what you say, but also feel that my original wording was a bit clunky, I'll try and find a middle ground.
  • Is it really necessary to mention his domestic T20 century? This is not uncommon, and a lot of international players have done that. Why single out that one when his other first class centuries are not mentioned?
    • It was only due to the fact that he'd only played three T20Is, I can remove it if you think that's best.
  • The template {{cr}} doesn't display the Irish cricket flag since it's non-free. But Template:Country data Ireland says not to use the template without a flag variant specified. You could use the normal Irish flag, or drop the flag altogether and just give the link.

  • You could indicate the matches where he was selected man of the match, though it's not really a big deal.
    • I'll have a look through and see how many there were and if it adds anything to the article.
  • For the "Test" column, you could use the format used in Gilchrist, Jayasuriya lists etc. The latest centuries lists have used this, and is less confusing than just the number I think.

  • The lead could do with a copyedit, but you've said you're already working on that.
  • The 100 he made against Bangladesh in 2005 is the third fastest ODI century by an English batsman [2]. Doesn't he hold any other world/English records? Mention those in the lead.

Might I suggest having a ==Centuries== with the key in bold type and then ===List of ODI/Test centuries=== or something similar? The current level 1 headings for Key, followed by another level 1 for ODI and another for Test looks a bit blocky and and divisive. SGGH ping! 12:42, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • "didn't" - don't (!) use contractions in featured material.

  • "his highest score being" - not keen on the "being" - can we rephrase?

  • "Trescothick didn't score a century in any of his three Twenty20 Internationals, [3] his highest score being the 72 he scored against Sri Lanka in 2006.[4]" seems a bit out of order considering this is a list of his centuries. Basically the first thing you say is that he didn't score a century in this form of cricket, reads a little odd for me...!
    • Just felt it was worth mentioning what he had achieved in T20I cricket.
  • "was scored... when he scored..." a bit repetitive.
    • Done: changed as suggested.
  • "against Sri Lanka in a match played at" no need for "in a match played" in my opinion.
    • Done: changed as suggested.
  • "with Andrew Flintoff's first-innings of 167 earning him the accolade instead." I may be alone, but "him" here reads a bit ambiguously. You may need to repeat Flintoff.
    • Done: added clarity that Trescothick didn't win it.
  • "helping to earn him a Man" no need for the "to"

  • Score col doesn't sort for me.
    • I want to help, but it does sort for me, so I don't know what to say!

Comments –
  • I see a couple of sentence structures early on that annoy me, as they do in a lot of articles. I'm talking about "with Andrew Flintoff's ... earning" and "with nine being scored". The linked user page has much sage advice on how to handle these structures.
    • Done: changed to "Trescothick was not named Man of the Match, as Andrew Flintoff's first-innings of 167 earnt him the accolade instead." and "grounds, of which nine were scored".
  • Little redundancy in the writing here: "scoring what would also be his highest score of 137." Scoring and score is quite repetitive.
    • Done: changed to "scoring a career-best 137."
  • No need for multiple The Oval links in the lead. Also see a pair of London links.
    • Done: changed as suggested.
  • In the second table, Ireland doesn't have a flag.
    • There is no fair-use image for the flag of the Irish cricket team.
  • In reference 13, I believe Wisden should be in italics since that is technically a printed publisher (it publishes cricket almanacs).
