Please confirm the difference between primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary as far as Wikipedia is concerned. Thanks

- The following sections will hopefully explain how to make references.
- For the details of what is a primary, secondary, etc. please see WP:PRIMARY. In brief, a primary source is, for example, the website of the company that is the subject of the article. A press release by the company, or a website that showed information about the company and was paid to do so by the company, would also be a primary source. We avoid using primary sources; we look for reliable secondary sources of information.
- For example: If I claim that I am the Queen of England, and write that on my own MySpace website, that would not be an appropriate source. I would have to wait for the BBC News to pick up on my Queenhood, and then I could cite them.
- A tertiary source is something like Wikipedia itself - a 'gatherer of information'. We don't like to cite those; instead, we like to find out where they got their information from, and cite that.

Simple references edit
These require two parts;
- a)

- b) A section called "References" with the special code "{{reflist}}";

To see the result of that, please look at user:chzz/demo/simpleref. Edit it, and check the code; perhaps make a test page of your own, such as user:Zanze123/reftest and try it out.
Named references edit
Chzz was born in 1837, <ref name="MyBook"> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref> in Footown.<ref name="MyBook"/>
Note that the second usage has a / (and no closing ref tag). This needs a reference section as above; please see user:chzz/demo/namedref to see the result.
Citation templates edit
You can put anything you like between <ref> and </ref>, but using citation templates makes for a neat, consistent look;
Chzz has 37 Olympic medals. <ref> {{Citation

Thank you for uploading File:Jenia1.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
