Re: Making a bio

Re your message: I recommend that you use the Article Wizard to assist you in creating an article. The template stub you have been attempting to edit is a maintenance template and not intended for you to use as a basis of an article. Before you start the article, I recommend that you read the guideline for writing an autobiograpy and the notability guidelines for musicians. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:47, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Category:Hip hop biography stubs is also the wrong place to add encyclopedic content. As Gogo Dodo said, please use the Article Wizard to help you create an article. Thank you. --Mysdaao talk 14:21, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Re your message: If you use the Article Wizard, it will assist you in properly setting up a new article with the correct name and format. The Category:Hip hop biography stubs is not the correct place to start as that is another Wikipedia feature that sorts similar articles. You can also read Wikipedia:Your first article for assistance on writing the article. Finally, if you don't want to create the article yourself, you can try requesting that another editor create the article for you at Wikipedia:Articles for creation. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 02:40, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Flizo looking right.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 01:47, 13 April 2011 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 01:47, 13 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please do not continue to upload files missing information on their copyright status, as you did with File:Flizo look right.jpg. Note that Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously and that the copyright status of all media files uploaded to Wikipedia must be verifiable by others. If you are unsure of the correct copyright template, please refer to the list of image copyright tags. If you would like to experiment with uploading files, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Young Flizo ( Rapper )

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Young Flizo ( Rapper ) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Eeekster (talk) 02:00, 13 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Young Flizo ( Rapper ). If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Eeekster (talk) 02:04, 13 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Flizo looking right.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Flizo looking right.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Maher-shalal-hashbaz (talk) 02:34, 13 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Removing Speedy at Young Flizo

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Young Flizo, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hang on}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 11:34, 13 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Young Flizo. Please use the {{hang on}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 11:38, 13 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
