Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

How does this work?

How do you delete a page? I think I accidently duplicated a page. Help! WiHkibew (talk) 02:40, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

What's the link to the page you think you duplicated? — Wolfgang42 (talk) 02:45, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
If I give you a link, it might be the wrong one. So I suggest going to Caroline B. Cooney and clicking the link to the What Ever Happened to Janie?. WiHkibew (talk) 02:48, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
So you think you duplicated What Ever Happened to Janie? How? Did you copy the text of the article and paste it somewhere else? — Wolfgang42 (talk) 03:04, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
(edit conflict)I figured it out. I'll get an admin to fix it. The page should be at What Ever Happened to Janie?, but it's also at Whatever Happened to Janie?. Legoktm (talk) 03:04, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
All   Done now! The page is at What Ever Happened to Janie?. Legoktm (talk) 03:09, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
Thank you to both of you. WiHkibew (talk) 03:12, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

How Do You Edit the Name of an Article?

I think the name is "Whatever Happened to Janie?" not "What Ever Happened to Janie?" If I'm right, some of the other articles need to be edited too. Sorry for the inconvience. WiHkibew (talk) 22:51, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Please see WP:Moving a page, you need to be an autoconfirmed user to move pages (equivalent to renaming) (go to preferences, then look at "Member of groups:" to see if you are autoconfirmed.) If you are not autoconfirmed, then you should request the page to be moved at WP:REQMOVE. -- Patchy1 23:19, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Pride and Prejudice, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mr. Bennet (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Hello from Anna

Hello, and welcome. I'm Anna. I live in China. I read your userpage, so I thought I'd write. If I can ever be of any help, please ask. Happy editing. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:46, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for the welcome! 谢谢!§ WiHkibew (talk) § 22:07, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

This isn't a big deal, but I was wondering how to make a link to my contributions. What's the name of my contributions? Just wondering. <.< § WiHkibew (talk) § 23:08, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Type [[Special:Contributions/WiHkibew]] which gives Special:Contributions/WiHkibew. If you want, you can use a "pipe", e.g. [[Special:Contributions/WiHkibew|My contribs]] gives My contribs. You can see anyone's contributions when looking at their user page or user talk page, from a link "User contributions" under "Toolbox" in the left hand column. Thank you a lot! Have a nice day! § WiHkibew (talk) § 00:01, 11 December 2012 (UTC)

"Opt in"

What does opt in mean? What would you put in a opt in page? § WiHkibew (talk) § 21:07, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

That term is used in various contexts - where did you come across it? JohnCD (talk) 21:26, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
I went on my contributions and went to "edit count." I found it on that page. § WiHkibew (talk) § 21:29, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
Ah. You have to create a page User:WiHkibew/EditCounterOptIn.js as a working space for a Javascript program to keep count of your edits so that it can draw various graphs for you on demand. It says "with any content", so I don't think it matters what you put, "Hello world!" or anything you like. The program will presumably overwrite it. I've never done it myself, so I'm not sure - try and see what happens. JohnCD (talk) 21:48, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

"Opt in"

copied from Village pump (technical)

What does opt in mean? What would you put in a opt in page? I have no idea if this is technical, but I think it is. § WiHkibew (talk) § 21:07, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

Things which you may opt to use, but which are otherwise turned off by default (so that you need to make a positive action in order to turn them on). This is jargon, admitedly, but generally fairly well known on the 'net. The opposite it, predictably enough, "opt out". — Coren (talk) 21:31, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
No, I was talking about a page on Wikipedia. I went on my contributions and went to "edit count." I found it on that page. It says something about opting in. § WiHkibew (talk) § 21:51, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
Ahhh. I think I know what you mean. Click here and press "save". Leave the page blank. — Francophonie&Androphilie(Je vous invite à me parler) 21:56, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
(edit conflict) I think you are talking about the month-by-month breakdown for you contributions here. I think the setup requires opting in for this feature to reduce server usage. If you want to see the monthly breakdown, follow the instructions. This is very specific to this one tool. Chris857 (talk) 21:58, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. Someone said it's "on demand." What does that mean? § WiHkibew (talk) § 22:47, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
Is there any restrictions or "side effects?" § WiHkibew (talk) § 22:48, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
None that I know of. I think the only reason you need to "opt in" is that some people prefer to not have their detailed edit stats publicly viewable. (As for the "on demand" thing, I assume that's just another way of saying opt in? Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that, please.) — Francophonie&Androphilie(Je vous invite à me parler) 23:04, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
I think on demand means it isn't generated until and unless you or someone else asks for it - as opposed to some reports, which are generated on a regular schedule.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 23:47, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
Oh. Thanks! § WiHkibew (talk) § 02:19, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
See the Signpost coverage and this thread for more information about why opt-in was instituted for the edit counter. Graham87 09:55, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
Seeing as I wrote the tool, I feel like I should give explanation for it. Opting in is when you choose to allow something (as opposed to opting out, which is choosing to disallow something). In this case, it is the ability to get additional information about the user. This was done for two reasons: The calculations that have to be done for the namespace counts are slow and require a lot of computing power, and a lot of people don't want their editing history do be publicly analyzed, for privacy reasons. For the former, in 95% of times that someone is using the edit counter, they don't need to see those stats, and so the calculations that were done were worthless. For the latter, one of the rules of the Toolserver is that the database cannot be used to profile users. Thus, to prevent wasting power and speed, as well as to comply with the Toolserver rules, I set it so that the calculations are only done if the user requests it. This can be done by creating the page User:WiHkibew/EditCounterOptIn.js, with any text (it just has to exist). The counter checks if that page exist, and if it does, it runs the calculations. Present or Past

copied from Teahouse

For things that don't exist anymore, do you use "is" or "was" when talking about them in the general summary? Are TV shows different? § WiHkibew (talk) § 15:44, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi and welcome to the Teahouse! Generally, I would use "was" (e.g., George Washington was the first president of the United States rather than George Washington is the first president of the United States), but I suppose it could depend on the scenario. For TV shows, I would still use was if the TV show wasn't current, and is if the TV show is current (e.g., Josh Lyman is the Deputy Chief of Staff in the TV Serial Drama The West Wing when the show was still running, but now I would say Josh Lyman was the Deputy Chief of Staff in the TV Serial Drama The West Wing). I hope this helps. Go Phightins! 15:48, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Narutolovehinata5. Your recent edit to the page Tokyo Mew Mew appears to have added incorrect information, so I removed it for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 17:40, 23 December 2012 (UTC)

Actually, I moved it from a different part of the article. And a different version. I didn't know why 86.183.57.67 deleted it. I thought the edit might be wrong. You're right; I probably should had left it the way it was since there was no citation. § WiHkibew (talk) § 17:46, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
The article also states:
The five Mew Mews battle the kirema animas and their alien controllers, Kish, Pie and Tart. Kish falls in love with Ichigo; he tries to gain her love despite the fact that he is trying to eliminate the other Mew Mews. At the end of the series, Kish falls in love with Yuki, Ichigo's long-lost twin sister. Two more aliens, Pie and Tart, later join Kish in trying to destroy the Mew Mews.
Do you think that should also be removed? Also, I have found some websites mentioning Yuki Momomiya, but they don't seem very reliable. Most seem like fanfics and other fan stuff.
http://tokyomewmewfanon.wikia.com/wiki/Yuki_Momomiya is the most reliable, but it's a fanon website.

List of children's films

The table of contents is messed up, and I have no idea how to fix it! § WiHkibew (talk) § 17:54, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

What exactly is the problem? JamesBWatson (talk) 18:14, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
More info on TOCs can be seen at Help:Section#Table_of_contents_.28TOC.29  Ronhjones  (Talk) 18:31, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
It was on the right for some reason, and I tried to make it go to the left. The thing is, when you click (show), the table of contents cuts into the first two sections. I think it does this too when on the right. § WiHkibew (talk) § 19:14, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
I figured it out. It's fixed now. Thanks! § WiHkibew (talk) § 19:20, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
