Your submission at Articles for creation edit

I noticed your submission in Articles for creation, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/The Staffordshire Regiment Museum. Thanks! It will be reviewed by a volunteer soon.

Before it can be added to Wikipedia, your submission should have references. All articles on Wikipedia should have inline, numbered references after facts, showing the 'reliable source' (a newspaper, book, etc.) where the information can be checked, so that all information is verifiable.

Here's a video tutorial - hit play, then right-click for "full screen".

Here's an example of how to add references:

Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>

He likes tea.<ref> Smith, John. "[http://foonews.com/Article42 Interview with Chzz]", Foo News, 1 April 2010. Retrieved 2011-05-22. </ref>

== References ==

{{reflist}}

That makes the references automatically display as small numbers[1] which will link to the details in the section titled == References == at the end. You can see that example in action here.

Please add references to your submission, which will be reviewed as soon as possible. See also, Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. If you need any help, just put {{helpme}} at the end of this page, followed by a question.

Thank you for submitting an article to Wikipedia. Your draft submission has been reviewed. However, the reviewer felt that a few things need to be fixed before it is accepted. Please take a look and respond if possible. You can find it at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/The Staffordshire Regiment Museum. If there is no response within seven days, the request may be declined. If this happens, please feel free to continue to work on the article. You can resubmit it (by adding the text {{subst:submitdraft}} to the top of the article) when you believe the concerns have been addressed. Thank you.  Chzz  ►  06:53, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

More on references edit

Using wikipedia as a reference to itself doesn't really add anything. For example ...trench system named after Lance Corporal William Harold Coltman [1] doesn't provide a reference that the trench system is named after Coltman it just duplicates the link you have already inserted to the article on Coltman. What you need are reliable independant sources that give information about the museum. NtheP (talk) 20:26, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's getting there but there is still too much reference to the museum's own website which isn't exactly independent. It's ok for referencing the facilities but there really needs to be some more sources quoted sbout the museum in general to establish why it's notable. NtheP (talk) 17:38, 23 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

All claims of "I have permission" or "I am doing this on XXX behalf" must be confirmed through the WP:OTRS system. Please follow that link and have the copyright holder (not you) send an e-mail to the e-mail address there. As soon as the license release is confirmed they will issue a ticket number and an OTRS admin will restore the image. Skier Dude (talk) 03:07, 21 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
