Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline edit

  Hello, W Baskerville. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 10:16, 11 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

June 2019 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  MER-C 09:56, 15 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I request my account to be unblocked as its purpose is not advertising focused. Regarding the Carmignac entry, I had noticed the remarks posted on top of the article and was working on a revised text more in phase with Wikipedia standards. I'm sorry it was considered as a disguised way of promotion. I will accept all advices to adjust the text to a more neutral approach. In the meantime, I would like to contribute to other topics, less corporations focused. I'm sorry for this misunderstanding. (W Baskerville (talk) 13:40, 19 June 2019 (UTC))Reply

Decline reason:

It's not a misunderstanding. You've clearly been violating WP:PROMO and WP:COI and, I suspect, WP:PAID. Thanks but no thanks, we have no interest in the sorts of edits you are pushing on us. Yamla (talk) 13:44, 19 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

What I do not understand in your refusal is the global suspicion about the purpose of my account. I do not get paid for contributions. Another page I wrote was also suspended without notice. Is there a bias regarding French companies? I do . ot get the "promotion" issue. From this standpoint any entry regarding any company is basically promotion. I don not agree at all with your the conflict of interest issue either. I'm not writing about one single company or person. I request once again a revision of the administrators position. best regards, W Baskerville (talk) 09:43, 25 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Since you don't even concede that there are issues with your edits, there is no pathway to being unblocked for you, and you must remain blocked to protect Wikipedia from your inappropriate edits. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 10:39, 25 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I recognize I might have violated WP:PROMO. The presentation of the company was way too flattering. Is there a way to review the contribution in a neutral way? Can I benefit from advices from the contributors community? W Baskerville (talk) 09:34, 20 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

I think you need to explain your connection to Micha Strogonoff (talk · contribs), who is on the same ISP and using what looks to be the same computer. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 11:06, 21 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
