SPEEDY DELETION; I expected the speedy deletion, but it served it's purpose, as I was able to connect three important moments in boxing history , and save the story. the major problem with Wikipedia is folks are able to use the content of stories without any recognition of the real author. that has been done, time and time again, W. zelley (talk) 00:06, 6 June 2013 (UTC) There are many stubs that have not been deleted which should be as they do not serve any real purpose. But, flexible rules will always create unfairness for some and a free pass for others. W. zelley (talk) 00:06, 6 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

It appears that you have deleted the story without addressing any of the issues raised, now if that piece is deleted, then all those other boxing stub pieces should also get deleted. Some of them have been sitting has stubs for years. So when will they be deleted, or are there flexible rules.W. zelley (talk)

It seems when a person adds an article, before they have a chance to finish it, these deletion messages are appearing.W. zelley (talk) 08:38, 3 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

beyond the jungle of the deletion story edit

this whole issue of deletion, deletion discussion and the like, did not result in the story vanishing. However, it does appear that the deletion crew did a quick rush to delete on the basis of certain one-sided arguments that are not based on sound logic or proper investigation. To claim certain facts cannot be verified with reliable sources is not true.

For instance, there are three key issues that were being developed: 1. One: The 1984 Canadian junior nationals and Olympic box-off bouts which finalized the 1984 Canadian olympic team which resulted in three medals and a historical moment. ALL THESE THINGS CAN BE VERIFIED BY A MULTITUDE OF RELIABLE SOURCES. 2. The events leading up to the 1994 Victoria Commonwealth Games boxing competition where numerous medals were won by Canadian boxers.

  • once again there are many reliable sources including the book by sport editor

and journalist Cleve Dheensaw of the "Times-Colonist" called the "ISLAND OF CHAMPIONS" 3. The BRITISH COLUMBIA AMATEUR BOXING HALL OF FAME

  • There are many sources, but four reliable sources would be

newspaper in Comox, BC in 2011, Prince George in 2012, Quesnel in 2013 and Gibson in 2013.

If these three areas combined in one important story is not good enough for Wikipedia, that is okay, But some of the details are scattered about in Wikipedia articles in various locations. so, why is the scattered information not deleted when the combined data is??? that should make for some fancy dancing in the good old Wikipedia "deletion dance".
