April 2020 edit

Hello, I'm Path slopu. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Alternative versions of Deadpool—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. PATH SLOPU 12:34, 11 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. El_C 13:43, 11 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Discretionary Sanctions Notification edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in (a) GamerGate, (b) any gender-related dispute or controversy, (c) people associated with (a) or (b), all broadly construed. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Sexism edit

Please stop reverting. That change is too important to apply without consensus. A discretionary sanction (see above) that I am imposing on you, is to instruct you to stop. Failure to do so may result in other sanctions, including but not limited to blocks and bans. Please feel free to use the article talk page the gauge where the consensus is. Thanks. Monika article and request for an article on Sayori edit

Hello! I've been a fan of DDLC for a few years, and the game pretty much dominated my life in 2018. I would like to say that your Monika article is extremely well written, good job on it. I would also like to ask if an article on Sayori will be made, as her death scene was one of the reasons why the game got popular to begin with. Her story with depression was also praised for being a realistic portrayal of depression. --ItWillBeTossed (talk) 11:53, 12 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

@ItWillBeTossed: I will get right to it. In the meantime, there is an overall character page, if that would interest you? Vokafone (talk) 12:59, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Drmies: Could you restore the original Monika (character) and List of Doki Doki Literature Club! characters briefly, so-as to pass the information back to @ItWillBeTossed: so that they can instate the page? The pages do deserve to exist, and a lot of work was put into them, the first having also been worked on by them. Vokafone (talk) 19:20, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Or is that still possible since @ItWillBeTossed: added another redirect there? Vokafone (talk) 19:20, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Since you are blocked, you should only be using this page to request unblock; you cannot use it to edit by proxy or for other purposes. 331dot (talk) 19:27, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@331dot: Sorry, I didn't know that. How can I see the original Monika (character) page can I still ask? Or is there a way? Vokafone (talk) 19:28, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
If you are referring to the deleted edits to the page that is now a redirect, only administrators can view them. If you need the text for some purpose, you can once unblocked make a request at WP:REFUND. 331dot (talk) 19:34, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Okay. Pinging @ItWillBeTossed: RE Wikipedia:REFUND on Monika (character) and List of Doki Doki Literature Club! characters also in case this takes too long for them (that's not editing by proxy also, is it? If they're only unblocking the page and making their own edits without me?). Vokafone (talk) 19:45, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@ItWillBeTossed: RE your message to @Cat's Tuxedo, all recent edits of mine were rescinded regardless of how well they were sourced until I am reinstated, which unfortunately included Monika (character) (and Escape from North Korea for some reason, despite me not actually making the page there, it being a redirect before); the above comment (Wikipedia:REFUND) refers to how the page could be recovered if the process takes a while. April 2020 edit

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

Hello Drimes, I would like to be unblocked because you have made a mistake. The reason you gave was that you believed I was User:Mildred huxtetter; I have no idea who that is or why you think I am her. I worked quite hard on my Monika (character) and List of Doki Doki Literature Club! characters article, and would like them to stay. You called my edits useless sock ones when reverting them also. I don't know what that means, but it hurt. Vokafone (talk) 14:47, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

This is a checkuser block, meaning that there is technical evidence to support it. If you are not a sock, you will have to provide a plausible explanation as to why the technical evidence indicates you are. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 19:15, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

@331dot: I only created a Wikipedia account because several weeks ago I was told my "range" was blocked until May. I don't know why it was blocked, but it wasn't the first time it had happened, and I know it had nothing to do with me. Normally when the range is blocked, I wait until it has stopped to edit at home, and continue editing when I'm at school during lunch break, but because of the COVID-19 lockdown, I'm stuck at home, and editing is the only thing I do in my free time. And I have a lot of it now. Previously I only edited anonymously. I created this account on my mobile data so I could continue editing at home, because I can't leave, and I couldn't wait until May. Could I have the same range as User:Mildred huxtetter? Can that happen? Vokafone (talk) 19:50, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Per the messages of Drmies and NinjaRobotPirate below, this request can currently not be answered positively. It is extremely unlikely that a new request can succeed at all. Any future unblock request must clearly and honestly address the technical and behavioral concerns voiced on this talk page about you. See WP:SOCKBLOCK, a section of the WP:GAB essay, for details. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 00:42, 15 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

@ToBeFree: Okay, I don't think any technical and behavioral concerns have been raised against me, I was just told that Wikipedia's technical logs indicated that my account has been or may be used abusively and that it has been blocked indefinitely to prevent abuse. I haven't used it abusively and I don't intend to use it abusively. The closest I came to that was a discretionary sanction I agreed with completely. At WP:SOCKBLOCK it says that if you are improperly blocked for sockpuppetry, you should realize that it may not always be easy or even possible to correct the situation, but it doesn't really say how to correct it, or if it does I'm looking in the wrong place. Where is the right place? Vokafone (talk) 11:50, 15 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. Yamla (talk) 10:55, 30 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

331dot, please see the comments at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Mildred huxtetter--and it might be User:TotalTruthTeller24 as well. They've been adding trivia and trash to Wikipedia at least since 2016. Thanks! Drmies (talk) 00:17, 15 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@331dot: Thank you. Vokafone (talk) 19:55, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Well, for what it's worth, the good news is that I think you're telling the truth about not being Mildred huxtetter (talk · contribs). I forgot about Mildred, and I probably should have been paying more attention to that case. She's pretty disruptive. But, the bad news is that you're on the same IP range as MacCready (talk · contribs), an editor I recently blocked as a sock of TotalTruthTeller24 (talk · contribs). I think it's very likely that you're both TTT24 socks. Both you and MacCready, for example, have edited the abuse allegations in Amber Heard. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 00:18, 15 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for that, and I do like reading about Amber Heard, but I'm not any of those other people either. I added the news about her assistant alleging abuse because it was on my news feed. And I'm not @ItWillBeTossed or anyone else. How do I get a different IP range? Would that help? Vokafone (talk) 11:50, 15 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Hammer Horror edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Template:Hammer Horror requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2018_October_19#Template:Hammer_Film_Productions_films. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. --woodensuperman 14:02, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
