You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at List of Dora the Explorer episodes. Magitroopa (talk) 07:12, 6 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Magitroopa: Is there a reason why you went straight for a level 4 warning here given this user has not had any previous? It’s important to remember not to bite new editors. Hugsyrup 18:32, 7 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Hugsyrup: I've definitely seen many other users who have given out 'only warning's for vandalism for things much smaller than this. I've just read the user's apology message- Yes, some of the edits are smaller, but when you completely remove the table format and all the credits and viewership data for many episodes, I really don't see how that can be considered as, "trying to fix a typo" in any way. Magitroopa (talk) 19:01, 7 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
I can’t comment on what other users do in other scenarios, but if you’re going to jump straight to the highest level warning in this specific instance you need to have a good reason for doing so. This may well have been vandalism but for a new user vandalising an article the starting point is a level 1 warning - that’s precisely why we have a system of escalating warnings. Hugsyrup 23:30, 7 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Magitroopa: The diff looks bad but I can guess what happened. It was honest mistakes by a new editor. In [1] Vincentmacefe accidentally destroyed the table rendering by removing }} }}. He tried to fix it but added {{ }} [2] which didn't work. Then he removed the table code to at least display something meaningful instead of a lot of wiki code. The rendered page actually looked better right after than right before he removed the table code. Vincentmacefe: If you have saved a wrong edit then see Help:Reverting for how to revert to an old version of the article. See also Help:Page history for how to see a diff of your edit so you know exactly what you changed if you want to fix it without reverting. And click "Show preview" before saving to see what your edit will do if you save it. PrimeHunter (talk) 23:39, 7 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi.

  • When you post to a talk page (like the Teahouse, or other pages with titles containing "talk:"), please sign your posts by placing a space and four tildes ( ~~~~) at the end; it will be translated into a timestamp and a link to your user page when you preview/save the post.
  • Most of your edits should not be marked "minor", since you are making significant changes to content that other editors may want to review. The only edits considered minor are uncontroversial things, like spelling and grammar mistakes. See WP:MINOR.

Thanks. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 23:37, 7 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
