Can you watch who you welcome? Particularly their username and their block log. Ryūlóng 10:13, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Dear Ryūlóng, Sorry I think I also welcomed slang user names which are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Sorry for that. I will make sure that same will not repeated in furture. --Umapathy (உமாபதி) 10:20, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Regarding your ImagesEdit

I feel nothing wrong in your images. Please expand them to all the districts of North and East provinces of Sri Lanka in the English Wikipedia not limiting yourself to Vavuniya. As I'm not concentrating on tamil Wikipedia you may follow the same pattern of the English Wikipedia in the Tamil Wikipedia too.

If you want to add your Images to all the districts of Sri Lanka then you have to consult other sinhala wikipedians. As you have used the same colour for each province, my oppinion is you may use different colours to every district by separating the provinces by clear margines.

I think Tamil Wikipedia has covered much more in Sri Lankan and tamil related topics. Have a nice editing! Thanks. Yugayuga 03:48, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Interwiki link on AVG Anti-VirusEdit

Hi there. You added a Tamil interwiki link to AVG Anti-Virus, but the article doesn't seem to exist. Is there a typo, or has the article been deleted? --TheParanoidOne 14:56, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

HiTheParanoidOneplease don't delete the link I am on the process of creating the article. Please have a look at 3-4 hours later. --Umapathy (உமாபதி) 15:12, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Districts of Sri LankaEdit

Your districts image looks great - much better than the drab one I had up there. It makes a nice overall view for the breakout images I did... :) Rarelibra 17:58, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

December 2009Edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add content (particularly if you change facts and figures), as you have to the article Ariyalai Siddhivinayakar Temple, please cite a reliable source for the content you're adding or changing. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 03:59, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

Dear Eekster, I born and bread close to the temple but I do not have any printed sources right now. I will try to get it by next month if I go to Jaffna. Based on my experience I can grantee the coordinates which I have taken from Google earth accurate you can check it with google earth where I have added the photo of the Temple too.--Umapathy (உமாபதி) (talk) 04:26, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

Your help needed with a Tamil speaking userEdit

You seem to be the only user here who is fluent in English and Tamil, and there is an issue with User:உ.தனியரசு who seems either unwilling or unable to use English. Since Google translate unfortunately does not support Tamil, we have no idea what is on his user and talk pages, and it's likely that they have no idea what we are trying to say to them. Any help you could provide would be much appreciated. Beeblebrox (talk) 00:52, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

A cup of coffee for you!Edit

ArbCom elections are now open!Edit

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Wikimedia Community User Group Sri LankaEdit

Dear Umapathy,

Thank you for your contributions to the Wikimedia Projects. As an editor from Sri Lanka, you are warmly invited to join the official Wikimedia Community User Group Sri Lanka and to subscribe to its mailing list, Wikimedia-LK.

The user group currently includes volunteers from Wikipedia and other projects, from the English, Sinhala, and Tamil speaking communities. It is the Wikimedia-approved platform for editors from Sri Lanka to enable wider collaboration, for both online and offline projects.

With your support, we hope to organize cross-project content improvement drives as part of online projects, as well as organize in-person edit-a-thons, training sessions, photowalks, and other such activities, in the near future. The ultimate goal(s) of these initiatives is to improve the overall coverage and quality of topics relating to Sri Lanka, as well as encourage new editors to join the Wikimedia community, while simultaneously empowering and retaining our existing team of editors.

There are no mandatory obligations for members who choose join the community, other than the usual editing rules for online projects, and the friendly space policy for in-person projects. You may also (or instead) subscribe to the mailing list, where any member could initiate discussions with volunteers across projects, notify members of events and meetings, stay up to date with competitions, organize your own events, and so on.

See you on board, and Happy Editing!
