I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Colin Dale (DJ). Thanks! Theroadislong (talk) 11:15, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for that - I have taken this from his press pack. Dave Clarke (DJ)'s page has a similar tone to this and has been published. Does it need to be more formal? TrudiRose (talk) 11:36, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
All content needs to be written in your own words, reporting on what reliable independent sources say, we have zero interest in what his "press pack" says and you should not copy and paste anything! Theroadislong (talk) 11:39, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
You must've misunderstood me - I have taken the information from there to write what I have - I did not copy and paste. Please try and work with me as I want to make a success of this and I am finding your tone very abrupt. Thank you TrudiRose (talk) 11:43, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
His press pack is not an independent source so cannot be used. Theroadislong (talk) 11:48, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I will redraft it and see what you think - would you be happy to provide constructive feedback as I submit please? TrudiRose (talk) 11:56, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello TrudiRose. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:TrudiRose. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=TrudiRose|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Theroadislong (talk) 12:00, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

I can assure you that I am not being paid. I am a music fan and I have followed Colin's music for years. A group of friends said someone should make him a page, so I looked at other DJs' pages and this is what I came up with. if you could give me a few examples other than Dave Clarke's which I used as a bassline - I will re-write it. Obviously you don't know me at all, but I am surprised that it seems like I am trying to make money as I am doing a very bad job at getting this done - which is why I am asking for advice TrudiRose (talk) 12:46, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
