Text 100

edit

A tag has been placed on Text 100, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Leebo86 23:31, 31 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bite Communications

edit

A tag has been placed on Bite Communications, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Butseriouslyfolks 01:48, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re:Text 100

edit

I'm going to be honest, it's not easy to write neutral, non-promotional articles for large corporations. First of all, you need to cite some sources when you talk about the companies. It's not enough to just give their websites, because one of the standards for company notability is that the company has been the focus of multiple non-trivial written publications. There was no indication in any of the articles I saw that the companies met that standard. That's not to say that they don't, but the burden is on you as the one who wants to include the information to assert the notability. Verifiability is a core policy, and it's very difficult without sources cited. Most of the articles were deleted as advertising (especially the first I saw, which went so far as to use promotional, first-person language). However, Text 100 has been nominated for deletion (see the discussion here) mostly on the basis that notability has not been asserted. Leebo86 04:28, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

When I say notability, I'm referring to the guidelines described here. There are guidelines on what makes something notable for most topics (music, people, software, etc.). Read the guidelines and assert in the article that they are satisfied by the company in question. Typically you can do this by citing the sources you have. Leebo86 04:40, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh. You're a CEO in the group of the corporations. In that case, I'm going to have to strongly recommend that you do not create or edit any more articles related to the company or group of companies, as this would constitute a conflict of interest. Wikipedia strives for neutrality, and it has been found on nearly every occasion that authors have great difficulty writing neutrally about subjects with which they have a close relationship. It is suggested that you wait until a neutral, independent third party decides to write the articles related to your companies. Leebo86 05:16, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:N15.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:N15.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:09, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Don't remove AfD tags

edit

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Text 100. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are however welcome to comment the deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. Leebo86 19:10, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

No need for the {{hangon}} tag in AfD

edit

It's a dicussion that will last for 5 days, there's no need to put a tag saying you're contesting it. Just argue your case and work on the article. The {{hangon}} tag is for contesting speedy deletion, which your article is no longer eligible for. Leebo86 20:11, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
