Re: Lillian Disney

I was wondering about the POV edit you made here [1] and was thinking about changing it myself, however my question (open for discussion) is how POV the word "beautiful" really is? I'm not sure that calling something beautiful is a problem with WP:NPOV. It is a descriptive word, just as one might discribe anothers humble wedding with a tattered gown. Just might thoughts. :) Tiggerjay (talk) 20:36, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Well it's an opinion, and I'm sure I would have the same opinion, but it's an opinion nonetheless and not everybody agrees with an opinion the same way someone would agree with a fact. —Coastergeekperson04's talk@Apr/29/08 23:30

Yes, I can actually see it, but it is very difficult to make out in this small image on the website. Regardless of your ability to see it, or not, you need to have a good reason to remove something already contributed. Such as a factual error, however since some people can see it, and you cannot, it may be a matter of opinion. Tiggerjay (talk) 12:01, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Walt Disney

error in facts?

I am concerned that there seems to be an error in the information given onthis wikipedia page. I am of the belief that once Disney had left his first job at the art studio [Pesmen-Rubin?] it was him and not Ubbe who first secured the sequential job after there stint enterprising with the Laugh-O-Gram company. Therefore I request that this and the rest of the article be checked for incorrect information asap.

  • Thanks for your inquiry about Walt Disney, however the article does not assert who was hired first, but rather that they simlpy met at Laugh-O-Gram, which is a correct statement. Tiggerjay (talk) 00:39, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

error in facts

To clarify this request I am referring to the article 'Walt Disney'

I feel that my edit was constructive, and it is true I live in district six and people want Pence out. Thank you for your reply. I appologize for the mixup, however as you can see, your edit has been viewed by at least three other editors as being vandalism. As such, it would be in your interest to find out why people are removing your content and discuss the problem on the articles talk page instead of simply trying to force your point. Please see WP:BRD process, in which after someones's edit is reverted, then the process is to discuss, not to re-add the content. In the case of your edit, it appeared to be unsounrced origional research. What would have been a good idea would be to provide a citation or third party reference to your change. Going forward, please feel free to add a descriptive Edit Summary along with an inline citation; alternately please disucss on the talk page first. Tiggerjay (talk) 16:03, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Atlag United Methodist Church

Did you see what the article looked like when I put the db tag on it? I notified the user that it was going to be deleted because they had made it look like a website, not an encyclopedia article, and when I put the db tag on it, they removed it immediately, and then when I put the afd tag on it, an anon removed it, and the other user immediately removed it, too. I'm not coming down hard, I'm trying to explain how they need to prove notability. Corvus cornixtalk 23:08, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

I reverted your speedy back to an afd, since the anon removed the speedy, they gave a reason on the article's Talk page, so edit warring over a speedy deletion tag isn't done. Edit warring over an afd tag, is, though.  :) Once more and the anon will get blocked. Corvus cornixtalk 23:14, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Honestly I could care less about how "right" you are and more about your Edit Waring and possible 3R violation. You are taking this too personal. There are other means of escellation. You assume this is being done maliciously, but may be simply an person ignorant of the policies. A temporary block, a page protection, and a sockpuppet warning should calm things down. Tiggerjay (talk) 23:23, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Woah! What? How am I escalating anything? Once a speedy deletion tag has been removed, the deletion process requires an AfD, you can't put a speedy tag back on. That's the rules. I didn't make them up. And I fail to see how I'm doing anything wrong, and I thought we were working in conjunction here until you suddenly got pissy. I'm shocked at your response. Really. Corvus cornixtalk 23:33, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

BTW, did you read the part about 3RR where it says repeatedly reverting vandalism isn't covered? Corvus cornixtalk 23:33, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Corvus, honestly we can disagree on the approach, no problem - we are on the same page that something needs to be done. Although in reference to your 3R:

if you find yourself reverting edits due to simple vandalism, you should list that person at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism (WP:AIV).

Only after they've had their full quota of warnings. They have now had 4, any further vandalism can be reported at AIV. I do know how to do this.  :) Corvus cornixtalk 23:57, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi Tiggerjay,

Thanks you for you feedback on my article. You mentioned that you are going to try to copyedit the article today, what does that mean?

What needs to be done to the article so I can put it in mainspace?

Thanks for your help!

BuffFans (talk) 14:24, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

BuffFans, I will try to go through the article and make it conform to the wikipedia style, removing the advertising feel of the article, and overall cleanup. What I will be doing in part is WP:COPYEDITING your work. Tiggerjay (talk) 17:10, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Alright, thanks for doing that.
How will I know that it is done? And can I read it before it is moved to the mainspace?
Once it is approved by you, do you or I move it to mainspace?
Thanks Tiggerjay —Preceding unsigned comment added by BuffFans (talkcontribs)
I will make the changes directly on your page and place a comment both here and on the article talk page when I think I'm done -- then we'll see if we can get one or two other editors to peer-review it and then repost it to the main space. Tiggerjay (talk) 19:49, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Alight, my first pass is completed, and I discovered that there is a serious, notability issue which is addressed in greater detail on the article talk page. Please reply over there and add additional content to the article itself as appropraite. Thanks. Tiggerjay (talk) 20:12, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello Tj! On the help desk you asked if I could apply fonts to signatures. I thought I could, but apparently I got this wrong. WikiZorro
I typed this code, yet it came out in Times New Roman! [[User:WikiZorro|<font color="slategray" face="Lucida Handwriting ">'''Wiki'''</font>]][[User talk:WikiZorro|<font color="navy" face="Lucida Handwriting">'''Zorro'''</font>]] . What did I do wrong! If it shows up as Lucida Handwriting to you, It could be my computer. Thanks! Wiki Zorro 22:17, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

The first signature I see above looks correct in Lucida Handwriting. The second looks like Ariel or Helvetica or something similar -- If you don't see the first in a cursive sort of font, then you probably don't have that font on your computer - I believe it is a default font on the PC, but I'm not sure about Macs or Linux. Tiggerjay (talk) 05:46, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
I really have limited fonts on my computer I guess! WikiZorro 21:38, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Original D Edits Lately

Hello, I am the person who did the editing of many Disney pages recently. I want to apologize for adding on so many pages for I didn't fully understand what the External Links policy was. I saw links to random pages that seemed to have nothing to do with attraction remain while the links to Original D that contained a Video of the Attraction kept getting deleted. In my frustration I just added it back. For this I want to apologize. Now that I full understand everything I would like to ask that my edit today on 5/14/08 on the main Disneyland page be looked at. I added a link to Original D in the External Links section along side many other sites that are similar. The difference with Original D is it is unique because it is only about Disneyland and organized information that adds to the article with videos of almost all of the Attractions in the park. I also added a link to the official Disney sites for each park, the hotels, and the Downtown Disney area.

In a nutshell, I apologize and will not spam any of the attraction pages (even though some of them have external links that seem to have nothing to do with the attraction, but whatever. I'll leave them alone.  :)) But please consider the edits I made today on the Disneyland main page. I feel it was a fair edit organizing the links and adding several links (Not just Original D) that I feel are very crucial for Disneyland information. 71.116.162.179 (talk) 01:03, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Help

TiggerJ

Ok here goes, there are 2 individuals

1. Jose Matos aka King Shameek graduated in 1987 from Independence High School (IHS) in San Jose and went on to produce music for sweet sensation and the DJ for the rap group Twin Hype. you can google them and sheck it out.

2. The other is Jose Jaquez graduated in 1988 from IHS CEO of American Dream Financial in Campbell, ca u can google that co.

Hope that helps

Thank you

To be included, please check the following references to ensure that the reason why they are notable is accurate: WP:BAND for Jose Matos; and WP:CORP for Jose Jaqeuz. If you believe them to meet these criteria, I recommend that you first make appropriate pages for each individual and/or their company; then add them to the IHS page, so the links appear appropriate. Matos will have a good chance of sticking around; but there is little chance the Jaquez will stick (but still worth trying if you believe he passes the requirements of WP:CORP). Good luck Tiggerjay (talk) 06:20, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Robinsons

The Meet the Robinsons page carries a comment that basically says the plot discussion is too long and complicated in comparison to the rest of the page, and asked for it to be edited for analysis rather than just plot summary. You commented before positively on the cleanup I'd been doing of Balloon help. I think I may have fixed that. (If so, and if some other tag applies, go ahead and apply that tag. I won't be offended. Talk:Greater Grace World Outreach

Thank you for your involvement with editing this page and your interest in having a consensus reached in this article so the block can be lifted and the article to be brought to some sort of consensus. I was brought in by a request on the Christianity Project page to have someone review the article. I have absolutely no former knowledge of GGWO, nor any particular bias. All I can tell you it in its current state, it looks like an absolute disaster (both the article, and the organization as a whole). My hopes is to help bring the interested editors to the table on the talk page to resolve the conflicts and have the page properly created/edited. Please take a moment to go over to the talk page and review my most recent postings. Also do no be alarmed as your earlier comments/posts were refactored and archived (there is a link available on the page to the archive). My post is only one of several which will hopefully help guide this page towards something everybody can agree is appropriate. Tiggerjay (talk) 00:28, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

I wish you the best of luck regarding this page. I cannot be part of any effort that abuses the ideas of developing a good article to the point of trashing peoples edits. While I strongly disagree with those who have edits for GGWO I would not simply undo their work or remove their work which has been done so many times I cannot count. It is as though we have admins supporting the efforts of vandals. Again I think that regardless of the opinion editors should try at best to respect the work of others. I have done so. But that appears to be unacceptable by my peers.
To which I say this article will either be useless or a promotion of GGWO.

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to White Paper of 1939 has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. You have reverted my correction to Jeremy Vine because you claim it was not constructive. I beg to differ. The dates have no consistency of style. The styles appear are May 17, 17 May, and May 17th. I think that we need a wiki entry on Fried Poultry Science

We need to have an article on Fried Poultry Science, a soon to be billion dollar industry dominated by the negrotorial american market. ok cancel that. The answer is this bug and the workaround is to convert strokes to paths. Now that I have been reminded, I think I was told this in the past for that first diagram but stupidly forgot it in the intervening period. Certainly that is the difference on the diagram, the top arrowheads are seperate paths but the bottom ones are just part of the stroke. SpinningSpark 10:54, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Getting it right

I cannot work out if you are a member of Wikipedia staff or just a well-meaning amateur. But you recently made correction to the entry for Fergus Martin. When you did, you spelt his name incorrectly. You also edited a page that has had several people edit it already. I just wonder why you wanted to improve on what is already perfectly alright. Especially when they add an error. - Brenmar —Preceding unsigned comment added by Brenmar (talkcontribs) 17:48, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

I am not certain where your comments come from. I am just another editor. I have made some consistency and style changes to the article. My only error which it appears you corrected was a typographical error of a "G" instead of "F". You also appear to have a specific belief that your edits are "perfect", however please review WP:OWN and while you're at it, please review WP:SIG - also check to make sure you don't have a WP:COI in this article. Thanks. Tiggerjay (talk) 05:11, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Re: Reform,

Unfortunately it looks like Special:Contributions/71.160.104.140 isn't reformed after all, all of the edits they have made since being reported are vandalism, or legitimate spelling corrections of their own earlier vandalism edits. This user seems to specialize in inserting exceptionally believable, hard to verify lies, for example, changing soft-opening dates on Disney attractions, ala Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. These can be very difficult statistics to come by unless you work for the company/manufacturer/press and thus have access to double-check the dates.) The user even goes so far as to support their false claims with lies establishing agreement on related pages. Tragically this seems to be malice at the highest level. BigThunderMtn (talk) 17:05, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

It looks like you're probably correct. And his AIV was dropped here [3] because of incorrect warnings. :) So let's try the warning again in proper order to ensure a proper block. Also remember, to be "proper" the consecutive warning must come after new edits (ie you just can go warning 1-2-3-4 all while they are inactive.) Tiggerjay (talk) 17:14, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

I was wondering why it was that you reverted to that particular version of the Cashmere article. The MOS on order of entries for dab pages doesn't place a link to the Kashmir article at the top, for one thing, as it is not the same spelling. Also, I see no need to get rid of the categories. AAU reminder notice

A friendly reminder from the Adopt-a-User project =)

Hey there Tiggerjay! This is a friendly reminder to update your status at Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User/Adoptee's Area/Adopters whenever it is appropriate in order to provide new users with the most up-to-date information on available adopters. Also please note that we will be removing adopters who have not edited in 60 days. If you become active again (and we hope you do!) please feel free to re-add yourself. Cheers!

Modification to User:Tiggerjay/Templates/Rollback

I removed the __NOEDITSECTION__ to the welcoming template that you made as when transcluded into a user's talk page, it disables the edit section links, which might be unexpected by the user. I was going to ask you to make the change, but I noticed that you had not edited in over two months. Hopefully you will not mind me imposing upon your template. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:51, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Firouz Naderi

I'm trying to upload a new image of Dr. Naderi (at his request). I keep getting a response that I'm not authorized to do so. The page is not protected, so what's the story. I've been able to do this in the past. He and I need to do some editsCdloewen (talk) 20:29, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
