User talk:Thecurran/Archive 2010

Latest comment: 13 years ago by Thecurran

Welcome in, friend, and make yourself comfortable! May everything turn out best for U. Often i try to honour others and to humble myself by capitalizing "you" to "U" and reversing "I" to "i". I apologize if my word choice seems unfavourable to strangers. Please note the emoticon → :) . Warmest Regards, :)—thecurran Speak your mind my past 09:13, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

FAQ

Why does this talk page say "Archive" in its URL if it is for active discussion?

There is no way for anyone to update the links in your contribution history. That means that in order to make such links permanently go to the relevant discussion AND keep the talk page at a reasonable size without eroding comments, this is what we have to do. It saves you from having to sift through irrelevant archives that often break at arbitrary dates.

Smart! If someday I begin to have lots of comments on my talk page, I might consider doing the same.

Yu Ram Cha

The entire content of the page was Yu Ram Cha. I have no intention of restoring that. You are, of course, at liberty to write a decent stub and recreate the page Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:34, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Yu Ram Cha

A tag has been placed on Yu Ram Cha requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under thecriteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Pleasesee the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding{{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note onthe talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged forspeedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ZooPro 13:32, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

Marking a vote as a minor edit

Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Wikipedia:Requests for bureaucratship/SoWhy, as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. I just think a vote, however "weak" it may be, isn't a minor edit.

RE:Your Lara Croft revert

There were two reasons for the revert.

  1. Wikipedia:Linking prefers links to be clear-cut and intuitive. Only linking the last name is not as clear cut as linking the whole name. However, this can easily be fixed. {{cite web}} has a special parameter ( |authorlink = ) to link names in the template. Using this parameter will link the whole name of the person to their article.
    • So instead of it looking this: "Brett, Anwar"
    • It would look like this: "Brett, Anwar"
  2. The second reason is presumptuous and is related to the current state of the article Anwar Brett. Guidelines pertaining to biographies of living persons have become progressively more strict. And since I don't think the article's current state satisfies WP:BASIC of Wikipedia:Notability (people), I figured that it might not stick around. So rather than have a possible red link in the future, I chose to remove it.

Of course, both reasons are actionable. So if the article is improved and the parameter used instead of hard coded piping, then there's no reason for my revert to stand. Let me know if you have any other questions. (Guyinblack25 talk 14:31, 20 April 2010 (UTC))

Thank U for your patience & clear guidance. Warmest Regards, :)—thecurran Speak your mind my past 14:21, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
Not at all. Happy editing. (Guyinblack25 talk 15:49, 27 April 2010 (UTC))

Proposed deletion of Anwar Brett

The article Anwar Brett has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Shadowjams (talk) 23:08, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Articles for deletion nomination of Anwar Brett

I have nominated Anwar Brett, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anwar Brett. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Shadowjams (talk) 20:04, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

  • You (U?) claim that notability has been established. Please elaborate with specific example of reliable sources about the subject. Pburka (talk) 02:52, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you toreview other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located atSpecial:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism orBLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be foundhere.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:00, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Could you fix this so it points to this page rather than an archive? Thanks. Rodhullandemu 15:12, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
