Ways to improve Ragnar Lothbrok (Vikings)

Hello, The Optimistic One,

Thank you for creating Ragnar Lothbrok (Vikings).

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article has an over emphasis on plot about the character. Several of the references are primary, and do not review, explore nor dissect this character. Consider WP:THREE

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Whiteguru (talk) 19:41, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

@Whiteguru: Sure I’ll have a look and see what I can do. The Optimistic One (talk) 21:19, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Ragnar Lothbrok (Vikings)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ragnar Lothbrok (Vikings) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://funwithvikings.neocities.org/index_secound_s.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.   Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Mason Greenwood, you may be blocked from editing. Mattythewhite (talk) 20:12, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

@Mattythewhite:[1] Been editing for years and never publish false or misleading information. The source above proves that I added factually correct information. I expect an apology for the abrupt and unnecessary message soon. The Optimistic One (talk) 20:24, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
How long you've been editing for or what your record is like is immaterial; contentious material, such as the content you added with this edit, *must* be sourced. Per WP:BLP, "Contentious material about living persons (or, in some cases, recently deceased) that is unsourced or poorly sourced—whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable—should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion". Mattythewhite (talk) 20:30, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
@Mattythewhite: Okay… I can understand the removal. But I would have searched the net to see if said information was false or misleading before sending that message. The Optimistic One (talk) 20:34, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

Added Knock in the Ryanair article

Hey, on Feb 17 2022 you added Knock in the Ryanair article in the list of bases.

Actually Knock is not a base. Base means an airport where an airline stations aircraft overnight. Ryanair only flies to Knock without having aircraft there overnight. WikiPate (talk) 15:44, 3 March 2022 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:ChrisManawaFTWD.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:ChrisManawaFTWD.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:09, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:AliciaClarkFTWD2.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:AliciaClarkFTWD2.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 23:21, 22 April 2022 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:AliciaClarkFTWD2.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:AliciaClarkFTWD2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:05, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

The article Better Call Saul (season 6) you nominated as a good article has passed  ; see Talk:Better Call Saul (season 6) for comments about the article. Well done! Proposed deletion of A.J. Weston

The article A.J. Weston has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline requirement nor the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (fiction) supplementary essay. WP:BEFORE did not reveal any significant coverage on Gnews, Gbooks or Gscholar. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Marcus Álvarez and others

I've redirectem them for now, if you'd like to recover some plot details for merging, they are all safe in the article's history. I am cocnerned that more of the characters from that series are not notable enough for stand-alone articles, but the remainders have at least a tiny reception or development section, and may be better discussed at AfD. I was going to link you to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Deletion_sorting/Fictional_elements#David_Hale_(Sons_of_Anarchy) but I see you already noticed that discussion (that drew my attention to this series of articles). Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:04, 11 November 2022 (UTC)

@Piotrus: Thanks. I’ll try some more merging soon. The Optimistic One (talk) 13:54, 11 November 2022 (UTC)

re: The Walking Dead characters

Thanks for the heads up. Is there any reason you can't start the AfDs yourself, or perhaps boldly redirect them first? (If you reply here, please echo me). Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:57, 4 December 2022 (UTC)

@Piotrus: Because I’m not an admin, so I believe can’t create an AfD myself or I don’t know how to. And I’d prefer to have an AfD over just redirecting the older articles, some of the newer ones I would normally redirect, but I’m on holidays at the moment and don’t have my PC on me so it would take like five edits to redirect them on mobile. The Optimistic One (talk) 15:00, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
Anyone can create an AfD. The easiest way to do so is to install WP:TWINKLE super gadget, then you just click the AfD option in the new pop up menu you get, fill in the form, and voila, ready. Try it out when you are back from holidays! Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:15, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
Another tip: I recommend watchlisting Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Fictional elements and other topics you are interested in, then you can check them every few days and comment on topics that you find interesting (and see how those discussion work in practice over the long run). Adding unreferenced content

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before that you shouldn't add unreferenced content to Year or Date articles. I'll be removing these. Deb (talk) 20:43, 18 February 2023 (UTC)

@Deb: Why did you remove them instead of adding a source yourself? I’ve added back some content to 1973 with a source this time. Most of the content in that years article is unsourced. The Optimistic One (talk) 16:43, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
Of course most of the content is still unsourced. That's because people like you add new entries without bothering to reference them as the guidelines say they must, nor do they bother to try to help improve the articles by adding references to the existing entries. They leave it to others to do the work. You've been told about this before, so please don't do it again. Deb (talk) 17:00, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
@Deb: I don't recall that happening. Where have you mentioned this before? The Optimistic One (talk) 20:46, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
If I haven't told you, this edit by another user clearly shows that you have been told. Deb (talk) 21:22, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
@Deb: An edit from nearly two years ago… You really dug deep to find that one. The Optimistic One (talk) 21:58, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
It didn't take me long. If you knew two years ago that you needed sources, it's reasonable to assume you still know. Deb (talk) 22:01, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
@Deb: Didn’t actually know about that edit until tonight. Why don’t you remove all unsourced content from a year like 1973 for example? If it bothers you that much. The Optimistic One (talk) 22:09, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
