Conflict of interest editing

edit

  Hello, Taricksalmaci. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Tarick Salmaci, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:43, 16 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Tarick_Salmaci_2013-12-04_15-04.jpg

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on File:Tarick_Salmaci_2013-12-04_15-04.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ww2censor (talk) 10:21, 16 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I am Diannaa and I am an administrator on this wiki. I noticed you are uploading images, all of which have been tagged for deletion or are already deleted. Please don't upload any more photos that you find on the Internet or elsewhere. Photos that you find online are copyright, and we are not allowed to display them on this wiki. There's more information about copyrights and how it applies to Wikipedia at Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright. Copyright law and its application are complex matters, and you should not upload any further images until you have taken the time to read and understand our policies. Continuing on your present course will likely lead to a block. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:25, 16 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Taricksalmaci. As Diannaa posted above, you shouldn't really being uploading image files you find on other websites unless (1) it clearly states that the file has been freely licensed in a manner that is acceptable for use on Wikipedia or (2) you took the photo yourself and hold the copyright on it. If you are Tarick Salmaci, then all you need to do is take a selfie and upload it to Wikimedia Commons as explained in c:Commons:Upload. You can also have a friend or family member take a photo of you and have them upload the file to Commons under a freely license of their choosing. If you continue to inappropriately upload copyrighted content, an administrator will have no option but to block your account from editing. If you find a photo online and you're not sure of its licensing, then please ask for assistance at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions or at Wikimedia Commons Village Pump. Someone on either of those two pages will be more than happy to help you out. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:08, 18 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Tarick Salmaci shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:12, 18 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

One of my previous images was deleted and it wasn't copy written. How can I upload a photo? Can you, as an administrator upload a photo for me? It seems like every image that I upload is deleted. My revisions in my biography keep getting deleted as well. Kronk Boxing 08:28, 18 November 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Taricksalmaci (talkcontribs) 17:28, 18 November 2016 (UTC+9) (UTC)
Hi Taricksalmaci. All photos are copyright. You can't upload images unless you are the owner and copyright holder. The copyright holder is usually the person who took the photo. If you are the subject of the photo, it's pretty obvious that you did not take the picture. Getty Images are subject to strict copyright and we can't host their material here. Please don't upload any photos to this website unless you yourself took the photo. It's against the copyright policy of this website and copyright law for you to do so. Please don't do it any more or you will be blocked from editing.

Editing an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. Adding material without citing any sources, especially in a biography, is not okay. That's why your additions keep getting removed. Please instead make suggestions on the article talk page. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:44, 18 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

(edit conflict)Hi Taricksalmaci. I believe most of the answers you are looking for can be found above in the posts that I and others have left. If you look at these posts, you see that some of the wording is highlighted in blue. These are actually internal links to other Wikipedia pages where you will find more details on various topics. If you haven't done so already, try looking at these pages and see if you find the information you need. Wikipedia has various policies and guidelines that all editors are supposed to do their best to comply with, but you can find yourself having problems if you don't know what they are. It might be a good idea for you to try the Wikipedia:Adventure because it's an easy interactive way to become familiar with Wikipedia's basics and might help you get a better feel for what Wikipedia is and what it is not. One important thing to remember is that there is no "my biography" or "my article" on Wikipedia. Wikipedia articles are written about various subjects, but they are not owned by their subjects, their creators, or their editors. Wikipedia is a collaborative editing project and the appropriateness of article content is primarily determined by establishing a consensus based upon the aforementioned policies and guidelines. So, once again it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the most basic policies and guidelines because knowing them will make it easier for your edits to be accepted by others. -- Marchjuly (talk) 14:06, 18 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Tarick Salmaci editing

edit

Hi Taricksalmaci. This subject has been previously mentioned above on your talk page, but perhaps you missed the relevant posts. If you are Tarick Salmaci, you have a conflict of interest or COI with respect to that the article. COI of interest editing is not something expressly prohibited on Wikipedia, but it is something which is highly discouraged. Please take a look at Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide for reference. If you have any questions, please post them here and I will do my best to try and answer them. If you want some input from other editors, please feel free to ask for assistance at the Wikipedia Teahouse. Just for reference, my only motivation is to try and ensure the article is in accordance with relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines; in other words, ensure that it is neutrally written and accurately reflects what independent reliable sources say about the subject. I am more than happy to discuss ways to improve the article at Talk:Tarick Salmaci. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:24, 30 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because the username, Taricksalmaci, matches the name of a well-known, living person.

If you are the person represented by this username, please note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated, not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You may choose to edit under a new username (see information below), but keep in mind that you are welcome to continue to edit under this username. If you choose to do so, we ask the following:

  1. Please be willing and able to prove your identity to Wikipedia.
  2. Please send an e-mail to info-en wikimedia.org. Be aware that the volunteer response team that handles e-mail is indeed operated entirely by volunteers, and the reply may not be immediate.

If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Beeblebrox (talk) 09:28, 30 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
