  Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but it appears you have written or added to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Sudhir Kumar Mishra

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sudhir Kumar Mishra, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for Deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discusion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.   Hello, Sudhirmishraji, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Suniltada (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who use multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. Cabayi (talk) 07:46, 20 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sudhirmishraji (talk) 08:18, 20 April 2017 (UTC) Dear Cabayi, we are trying to create a page for Dr Sudhir Kumar mishra, CEO & MD , BrahMos Aerospace, and my page was getting deleted so I used my colleague wiki account to edit the same page. As previous moderator stated and the user can not create a page for himself. Though I have already clarified that I am creating the page for Sudhir Kumar mishra CEO & MD , BrahMos Aerospace. If that's not allowed, I will not do it again. ThanksReply

Sudhirmishraji (talk) 08:37, 20 April 2017 (UTC) Dear Mods, As I have already mentioned, I am not the same person for whom I am making the page. I am just an employee of BRAHMOS Aerospace, and very new to wikipedia. I am trying to create a page for Sudhir Kumar Mishra, CEO & MD BrahMos Aerospace. Earlier, while creating the wiki account to draft this page, I thought the username should be same as the page title. so I used the username- Sudhirmishraji but I am not SUDHIR KUMAR MISHRA, even my mail address name can justify that. So NOW I want to know if that the username is the issue or is there any way to change the user name. If yes the please let me know the other ways to create this page for CEO & MD of BrahMos Aerospace. I tried to do the same with my colleague's wiki account, but I think wiki's policy doesn't allow that too. I would request you to restore this page and I will draft a new page with new and basic content about the CEO & MD of BrahMos AerospaceReply

Sudhirmishraji, your reply raises several points which I'll address one-by-one:
  • "I am not the same person for whom I am making the page"
OK, so the issue of autobiography does not apply.
  • "so I used my colleague wiki account to edit the same page"
This behaviour is known as meat puppetry. While you may have done it innocently on this occasion and further use of multiple accounts will result in your account, your colleague's account (Suniltada), and any other associated account being blocked.
  • "we are trying to create a page for Dr Sudhir Kumar mishra"
We? An account is for an individual not a group of people. If you mean a collaborative attempt, that is also meat puppetry.
  • "I am just an employee of BRAHMOS Aerospace"
Instead of autobiography, you are creating an article
  • my page was getting deleted so I used my colleague wiki account to edit the same page
You've had an attempt as a draft, and 3 attempts in mainspace. Do you not think the problem might be the material rather than your username? I will agree though that the username has been a factor which has drawn attention to the article's other problems.
  • is there any way to change the user name
Yes, WP:CHU. But remember, changing your username is not some magic trick that makes your WP:PAID and WP:COI problems disappear.
  • please let me know the other ways to create this page for CEO & MD of BrahMos Aerospace
You've tried 4 times already. Take the hint - don't try again. I, along with all the other volunteers on wikipedia, give our time to create an encyclopedia, not to help you suck up to your boss. Cabayi (talk) 11:33, 20 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
If, on the other hand, your intention in using your boss's name for your username was to create a public impression of him as a vain narcissist with a huge ego problem - well done, you've succeeded. Cabayi (talk) 12:01, 20 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sudhirmishraji (talk) 05:15, 21 April 2017 (UTC) Thank you very much for your reply. First I am not trying to impress my boss or anything like that. He is the CEO & MD of BrahMos Aerospace a Distinguished Scientist who has delivered the BRAHMOS missile - world's fastest anti-ship cruise missile in operation[1][2] . I thought he might be an inspiration to the young minds. So I created this page with his name. Anyway, if you guys feel like I am doing it for some impression purpose, then I will not continue on this page. Thanks.Reply

  1. ^ "BRAHMOS- The Record Breaker". BrahMos. 12 August 2011.
  2. ^ Diplomat, Franz-Stefan Gady, The. "India Test Fires Supersonic Cruise Missile". The Diplomat. Retrieved 2017-03-19.{{cite news}}: CS1 maint: multiple names: authors list (link)
While I'm glad that you're prepared to give up on this article it's because of your conflict of interest and your relationship as an employee not because of "some impression purpose".
Without any pressure in any direction, I'd advise you to consider the wisdom of using your boss's name as your username, and point you at the WP:CLEANSTART policy.
I applaud your intent to act as "inspiration to .. young minds". I think you're in an ideal position to do so. As I look at the flow of new articles I see many new articles for Indian universities which, all too often, are written by the universities' own marketing people, academics, alumni, or students. As a result they read like adverts (especially for the privately owned universities), or lists of courses, or lists of on-campus facilities. Wikipedia could do with some impartially written articles in this area where it so obviously has a blind-spot.
Hope that helps, Cabayi (talk) 10:02, 21 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Sudhirmishraji. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article BrahMos Aerospace, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Cabayi (talk) 11:37, 20 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
