Proposed deletion of Altoona Central Catholic School

edit

The article Altoona Central Catholic School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:Notability Elementary/Middle Schools are not considered inherently notable and this particular school does not appear to be notable.

Altoona Central Catholic School

edit

This school is not notable, and a consensus at AfD (which you took part in) determined that it should be redirected to Roman Catholic Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown. Please stop undoing that, it will be noticed each time, and reverted each time. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing, and the page may be fully protected, meaning that even autoconfirmed editors will not be able to edit the page. Thank you. - SudoGhost 18:06, 9 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Steelers628. I am Dianna and I am an administrator on this wiki. I have now fully protected the redirect at Altoona Central Catholic School; this means only administrators will be able to edit it. The article was changed to a redirect as a result of a deletion discussion here on Wikipedia; the school fails the Wikipedia notability guidelines, as Elementary/Middle Schools are not considered inherently notable enough for inclusion in this encyclopedia. Please don't try to re-create this article any more; if you do, you will be blocked from editing. Sorry. -- Dianna (talk) 01:06, 15 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Clark Gesner, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Altoona (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

When adding links to material on external sites, as you did to Mark Bartchak, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube or Sci-Hub, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:

  • If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;
  • If a note on the linked site credibly claims permission to host the material, or a note on the copyright holder's site grants such permission, leave a note on the article Talk page with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you are the copyright holder or the external site administrator, adjust the linked site to indicate permission as above and leave a note on the article Talk page;

If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, link to that site instead. Elizium23 (talk) 19:01, 22 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
