Body dissatisfaction moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Body dissatisfaction, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, medical, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to :Body dissatisfaction, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.<!-- Template:uw-move1 --> Riteboke (talk) 15:42, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

w.r.t. The Royal Commission on Animal Magnetism

edit

User:Srobodao84 Where I live in Sydney, Australia is currently under a full Covid-lockdown. This at-home isolation is producing a range of difficulties in a quite number of dimensions. Please can you allow me another 3 days (i.e., until Sunday, noon, Sydney time) before making your decision on "Good Article" rating. I should have been able to finish all of the work with adjustments, additions, and amendments that need to be done by then. Thanks, in anticipation, Lindsay658 (talk) 22:50, 18 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

User:Srobodao84 Although it's taken a little longer than expected, I have completed my work. Thanks for your generous consideration.Lindsay658 (talk) 08:44, 22 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
User:Srobodao84 Having never been involved with a "Good Page" review before, I am unsure about whether I need to do anything in relation to the Talk:The Royal Commission on Animal Magnetism/GA1 page, or whether I just leave everything up to others at this stage. Lindsay658 (talk) 11:40, 23 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Lindsay658 let me look at your changes and I'll update you Srobodao84 (talk) 21:15, 23 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

User:Srobodao84 Thanks for all the work. Lindsay658 (talk) 01:01, 24 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Lindsay658 If you have some time, can you read Body image disturbance and give me some language advice? I'm not a native English speaker, and I don't know if the article sounds good. Srobodao84 (talk) 13:47, 24 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

User:Srobodao84 Unfortunately, at the moment and over the next month or so I am very busy. However, from a brief glance, it immediately seems that -- quite apart from any issues of "language" -- there are a number of rather simple (but time-consuming for you) steps that you can take to very significantly improve both the transfer of information to your readers and the overall attractiveness and readability of the article:

 • (1) The section that you currently have as "References" is extremely confusing. The conflated complex of material that you have included needs to be completely reworked and, for clarity-to-your-readers, completely split into two separate and independent sections:
(a) that of "Notes" – quite different from what you have currently written -- which simply identify the author, date of the item cited, and (where relevant), the page number of the section of that item that you are directly citing -- and, of course, any other parenthetical comments, embellishments, explanations you may choose to relegate to these footnotes;
(b) that of a list of "References" -- in the alphabetical order of the authors’names -- which contains all of the details you have already written in what you have designated "References".
 • (2) You need to include a "See also" section.
 • (3) In many locations, you need to break your large lumps of text into smaller lumps, by introducing sub-sections (using four ====). For example, at Body_image_disturbance#Treatments_focused_on_perceptive_component, after the introductory sentence, "New treatments for body image disturbance have recently been developed, focusing on the disorder's perceptual component", the remaining five lumps of text make distinct sub-sections, which could be labelled something like: "Mirror Exposure", "VR-Body Swapping", "Hoop Training", "Body Perception Treatment", "Efficacy".
 • (4) make sure that you explain each of your abbreviations – for example the mystery of the puzzling encounter with the term "ED" in the leading section would be immediately removed if you were to have "Body image disturbance (BID) is a frequent symptom in patients with eating disorders (ED)".

Hope that helps, Lindsay658 (talk) 21:13, 24 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
