No, I don't understand reason of your deletion of 18 January 2018 in: User:Forza bruta/sandbox because I transleted entire text from Italian language to English in the same page! Forza bruta, Most of what I work on are copyright violations but that doesn't seem to be the issue in this case. It was deleted as a G13. Restoration of the deleted G 13 is the simple as asking for it to be restored, and there was a link on the page to request restoration. However, not wanting to be overly bureaucratic I've done it.

I do have some concerns. you just said that you "translated entire text of Italian language to English in the same page", but looking at the page, almost all is in Italian with only a pair of sentences in English. Is the text in Italian written in your own words? If not, it may be a copyright violation. Translation of copyrighted material is still a copyright violation. I understand the issues with the 'publishing' section, but I don't follow why you have rolled back previous edits on eg budget information that are fully referenced. Khcf6971, collateral damage is one way to put it, but it is simply the case that it is practiced to rollback all consecutive edits when one or more is identified as a copyright violation. While that can have the impact of I'm doing perfectly acceptable edits, it is quite common that the other edits are integrated in such a way that the whole thing needs to be rolled back. IOTA draft

Hi, you reverted a large number of edits [1]. Please assist me to recover the text, as this was a lot of work. Also note I believe i rectified the copyright issue by the time you reverted it. The copyright issue was probably just picked up by a bot, on on diff and was fixed by the later diff. Did you review it the diffs, or just revert based upon the bot? Jtbobwaysf, I've temporarily undone the revision deletion, and reverted but we are not done. The potential copyright issue was picked up by an automated process. I confirmed that it was a copyright violation, and therefore did a rollback as is our standard practice.

It is not acceptable to drop in some copyrighted material and then edit it away. Wikipedia doesn't permit copyright violations in any version of the article not simply the most recent one.

If you can point out where the copyright violation was removed, I can perform the revision deletion on all the intervening edits. S Philbrick(Talk) 18:10, 1 January 2020 (UTC)

The drop in wasnt intentional, I was editing and hit enter and it saved. I always drop in the text to the window and edit it there, really rare that i hit the enter button and save by accident. I have now removed the two sub-sections that had content from this [2] forbes source, since i can see from the bot summary this was the offending source. I have moved it to my talk page. Let's see if we get a copyright error on my talk page, and if not, I will restore back to this article tomorrow. Thank you for your help. • A request for comment asks whether partial blocks should be enabled on the English Wikipedia. If enabled, this functionality would allow administrators to block users from editing specific pages or namespaces, rather than the entire site.
• A proposal asks whether admins who don't use their tools for a significant period of time (e.g. five years) should have the toolset procedurally removed.
• Following a successful RfC, a whitelist is now available for users whose redirects will be autopatrolled by a bot, removing them from the new pages patrol queue. Admins can add such users to Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Redirect whitelist after a discussion following the guidelines at Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Redirect whitelist.

Arbitration

• The fourth case on Palestine-Israel articles was closed. The case consolidated all previous remedies under one heading, which should make them easier to understand, apply, and enforce. In particular, the distinction between "primary articles" and "related content" has been clarified, with the former being the entire set of articles whose topic relates to the Arab-Israeli conflict, broadly interpreted rather than reasonably construed.
• Following the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections, the following editors have been appointed to the Arbitration Committee: Beeblebrox, Bradv, Casliber, David Fuchs, DGG, KrakatoaKatie, Maxim, Newyorkbrad, SoWhy, Worm That Turned, Xeno.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia published this press release on the conviction: https://www.justice.gov/usao-dc/pr/new-jersey-man-pleads-guilty-sexually-assaulting-colleague-during-business-trip-district

Considering the source is Justice.gov, I would proffer that it is a more credible source than a 3rd party news paper.

Bill Sipper has hired reputation management professionals to suppress the arrest and I believe it is important to publish it to his Wikipedia page as it is truthful and important for the public to know. Do you agree?

I want to discuss with with some other editors. Given the seriousness of the charge I'm sure you understand the need to handle this carefully. I reached out to one editor who has experience in this area, although I'm concerned that he is not currently active. [3] is a 2012-07-30 Form 10-K public filing from New Leaf Brands, Inc that states "In December 2010, the Company’s Chief Operating Officer, William Sipper, resigned following an alleged incident involving a prospective employee of the Company." The resignation follows an allegation of personal misconduct made by a female subcontractor during recent trade show. Although correspondence regarding the matter imply liability on the part of the Company as well as Mr. Sipper, the alleged incident is unrelated to his role as Chief Operating Officer.". After you chased me down and eliminated my one historical marker I keep seeing examples of others you're leaving alone. For example, on this page there are 4 legible markers just like mine. @Mgifford: We get hundreds of reports each week. For that reason, when we detect a problem, we typically do a rollback, which sometimes picks up and reverts material that's perfectly fine. Hi - I just G12ed a couple of drafts (Draft:MAMMOTH (Nuclear Software) and Draft:BISON (Nuclear Software)), without realising that you had already declined requests for that to happen. I came across them independently - I was looking at AfC, and saw a bunch of drafts which were wholly comprised of external links, so I took a look at what else the editor had been writing, and saw these drafts, which were obvious copy/pastes from a website. I should have investigated more thoroughly, as you are right the text is probably PD and so could have been allowed to remain in draft space while the editor worked on them. I've asked if they would like me to undelete - I just wanted to drop you a note to apologise for treading on your toes. Let me know if you think I should take any further action on this. Girth Summit, no apology necessary, in fact it may turn out that you are right. See User_talk:Rankin15#Issues. I thought it was a straightforward case of being public domain because it is the Department of Energy, but further investigation suggests it may be an independent contractor working for the Department of Energy which doesn't make it automatically public domain. I suggested waiting a little bit to hear from the editor and taking action at that time. I don't see any need to restore until the status is sorted out.

I am very aware of situations where one comes at something from an independent direction. I continue to be amazed at the willingness of volunteers to do the work they do for this project in a broad sense, and in a more narrow sense, the willingness of volunteers to enter into collegial discussions when disagreements exist. OTRS query

Hi Sphilbrick, a quick query, if an actor was disputing their birthdate as published by Wikipedia (and as supported by a reliable source), would they be able to send copies of their ID to Wikipedia through OTRS? Is that a correct usage of the system? I seem to recall there being an issue like this for an Indian actress a bunch of years back and one of the OTRS volunteers saw the docs and verified the content. A similar issue has come up with a friend of a notable actor disputing the sourced DOB, and I was looking for an option for the subject to prove their birth date. Cyphoidbomb, We do NOT want copies of IDs, not licenses or passports or anything similar. It may have been done years ago, but we have decided we do not want to have primary documents in our possession. Obviously, this begs the question of what is acceptable, and we are still trying to sort that out. This often comes up in the context of a username, and I typically urge a pseudonym, but that doesn't apply here. Unfortunately, our best advice is to contact the reliable source and get them to make the change. I've actually seen that happen, but it can be challenging.
