Jinnah PR edit

Hi - I hope you'll be able to participate in an effort to make Muhammad Ali Jinnah an FA. Please join the peer review. Rama's Arrow 16:45, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Siddiqui - I am very happy to know that you'll contribute to the effort. I would like to stress to you that we need to work against POV, unencyclopedic language and unverified info in this article. There is a danger of this effort degenerating into a POV-war between pro-India and pro-Pakistan editors, and this article certainly won't become an FA if conflicts exist. However, since Pakistan has become an FA, I'm hopeful about this page. I made this comment owing to the past conflicts with other editors and your recent RfC. I don't mean any disrespect to you at all - just advising restraint. We need a lot of contributions from you, as I feel you have good sources handy about info on Pakistan topics. I'm very happy to have an opportunity to work with you. Thanks, Rama's Arrow 17:16, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Salwar Kameez edit

Hello,

I'd just like to get your rationale for moving Salwar Kameez to Shalwar Qameez? Salwar Kameez is by far the most common English spelling of the item of clothing and as per Wikipedia policy, that should be the name of the article. Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 17:58, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Shalwar Qameez" is the correct spelling. As the article says that it is national dress Pakistan and both men and women wear this dress. It is worn by Kurds from Turkey, through Iran and Afghanistan to Pakistan. It is written and prounced as "Shalwar Qameez". In India, it is called Punjabi dress or/and Salwar Kameez and is worn by women only.
Can you please stop cyber stalking me !!
Siddiqui 18:44, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well, I'm not sure what you mean by 'cyber stalking' you - please clarify. And no, your particular transliteration thinks that "Shalwar Qameez" is the correct spelling (what particular scheme are you using, and from which source language?). In either case, "Salwar Kameez" is by far the most common spelling in English - and that's all that needs to be said. "Shalwar Kameez" is also popular, but still insignificant compared to "Salwar Kameez". Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 18:52, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your deletion of part of the Mujaddid article edit

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is considered to be a "Kafir" by main-stream Muslims. However his did claim to be a "mujadid" was serious enough to warrant attention at the level of the national assemblies by some of the largest Islamic nations. The claim continues to be the source of many emotional discussions. To understand the controversy it is essential to mention him in the list. It would be against the npov policy not to do so. Zeb-un-Nissa edit

Siddiqui, I told you: the Princess was known and remebered as Zeb-un-Nissa, NOT Zaib-un-Nissa. Also, it's kind of stupid to write Zeb-un-Nissa in the title and Zaib-un-Nissa in the article. In the future, please check up on the facts before you mindlessly revert some-one's changes.--Le Grey Intellectual 17:17, 13 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Airports in Pakistan edit

Salam, The airport pics didn't fit well when I added and I intended to edit them when I noticed that you already re-placed them, I guess you're still working on the layout, because they don't look good in the current layout either :) Nice work with the list, keep it up!

Your renewed POV edits against Ahmadiyya related pages edit

Please stop uploading images stolen from other website and claiming PD-self or other false licenses! Continuing so may result in a user block or permanent ban. Please check all your images and verify it was really you who created them. Please remove others from articles and mark them for deletion. Otherwise several users or admins have to go through all your image uploads and check them for their legal status. --Denniss 17:49, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your absurd redirection of the Ahmadi page! edit

I am at a total loss as to understand why you would do something like this [1]! You have seen it fit to redirect a well established, fully referenced page, without any discussion on the talk page, no edit summary, to a page that was nominated for deletion and ressurected by you with a single sided POV with material directly plagiarised from [2]. I would appreciate any explaination. Thank you. Nazli 19:44, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Pakistan dialling codes edit

Please Stop Making New Airport Pages with False Info edit

Salam, I noticed the Chilas Airport and Mangla Airport yesterday and was astonished to find that PIA flies to these airports and that "However looking at the increase in the exports and population, it is expected that XYZ Airport will be expanded and upgraded within coming few years.", but when I checked at PIA's website, there was no mention of either airport. Today I found out the same about Walton Airport and Bahawalpur Airport, same text posted under different airports' articles. However, I found out that the Gwadar Airport's info was researched (like destinations, and future airport construction). Still, similar sentences like "Foreign flying passengers" was used under "Destinations" which was shouldn't be the introductory sentence of the "Destinations" heading.

Please clear up all the false info such as PIA flying to XYZ airport and the airports being considered for expansion. You're putting a lot of effort in it, but it's not in a proper direction, don't make new pages just for the sake of it :) May I suggest working on the articles about cities and major landmarks of Pakistan? Like Attock, Tarbela Dam etc, or highest peaks of Pakistan, you'll surely find many such articles that require a lot of effort. Waqas.usman 04:39, 17 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I got that when I saw all the airports with same text, but please don't paste the text before verifying, because if someone accesses a page (such as Chilas, Mangla Airports etc), they will find it as "information" that PIA is flying to these airports. Wikipedia is one of the most popular sites on the internet and almost any page on wikipedia makes its way to the top search results in google etc, especially topics that don't have much info on other sites (like all these minor airports). I'm sure you'll agree. So let's clean up the list and let's not do copy/paste for all airports where the info isn't relavent. [3] has searchable schedules and you can search for "City Pairs" to find out the destinations from any specific airport as well, like enter Lahore and find all city pairs with Lahore, it'll show a list of dozens of cities where PIA flies to from Lahore. It's painstaking, but it'll give accurate information.Waqas.usman 05:00, 17 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Qaumi Tarana edit

Hi there, I have moved the national anthem of Pakistan to Qaumi Tarana but I am having trouble editing the Urdu script especially in writing the word "Tarana". I have tried to follow the way it is written on the Washington embassy website -> [4]. Could you have a look at the article and please correct any mistakes because my Urdu is not very strong. Thanks in advance. Green Giant 23:32, 18 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the corrections, it is much appreciated. On a side note, as Karachi has been listed as a Good article, I think some work is now needed to raise the article to featured article status. We need to make sure that everything in the article conforms to the Featured article standards especially with respect to verifiable sources for references and the copyright status of all the images. I am going through the article correcting things like spelling, grammar and POV statements. I know you are a knowledgeable person on Karachi so any help would be much appreciated. چلاس should be the correct spellings... right? edit

I'm pretty sure چلاس is right spelling for the word, I've edited it on Chilas. Also, I think Skardu shouldn't have "alif". What do you say?

Names of places edit

Salam! Please confirm the names of places before creating a new article or even writing it, because wrong names will cause a bad affect, others will take wikipedia as a source and mention it wrongly. Just like Chilas, Shigar (it's not Shigaaar, it's Shigar, without alif), and Malam Jabba which you posted as Malamjaba. There can be argument about different spellings, but if you've heard the name of the place, you'll agree it's "Malam Jabba", not "Malamjaba". So please consult before writing names of places. (I'm not an expert myself, but I've been to the North many times, and know some names) Waqas.usman 06:04, 20 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

(year) in Pakistan edit

You aren't planning on adding any content to those articles about years in Pakistan you're creating, perchance? I suspect they'll be deleted if they're only going to act as placeholders -Obli (Talk)? 23:40, 21 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Just making sure :) -Obli (Talk)? 00:02, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Mr. Siddiqui. Well thanks alot for calling me a puppet, no problem I take those comments without any problem. Just to remind you that your activities are also like puppets, who knows where you belong any way, if you want to be "fair" if its not problem for you than please make changes with discussion first and try not to be bias sir. I hope next time we will see some changes which make sence from you.

Please verify before adding info edit

I have removed bogus info about "ski resorts" from these article, please don't waste your time as well as others (who have to verify and remove it):
Gabral (Ski resort?)
Kalam Valley (Ski resort?)
Madyan (Ski resort?)
Marghuzar (Ski resort?)
Miandam (Ski resort?)
According to you, there are seven ski resort besides Malam Jabba? What the $!#@$ Waqas.usman 06:32, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
As much as I appreciate all your effort in creating new pages, I think you should focus on the quality of it rather than the quantity of it. Several articles like Lal Suhanra National Park and Ayubia National Park need formatting, you just copy/pasted text from somewhere without refinging it, this is not appreciated and that is why the articles were tagged for improvement, and even deletion!! Waqas.usman 06:49, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
What is this written on Manchar Lake page? It definitely isn't Manchar. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Manchar_Lake&oldid=41029436
Also, before writing a one-line article, you should have checked Manchar. Once again, I request you not to add bogus info, and make sure what you're writing is true. Waqas.usman 06:59, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
And Ushu and Utror also have ski resorts? Waqas.usman 07:08, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Another article that needs major revision, formatting, you just copy/pasted this article from an external page without any context, without proper format, without giving any reference,
[5]
Khunjerab National Park
What you're doing doesn't help, please fix the mess on hundreds of these older pages before creating new pages with less reliable and less presentable info. Waqas.usman 21:25, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Astore is in Kaghan Valley?? And Kaghan Valley is in Northern Areas? http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Astore_Wildlife_Sanctuary&oldid=48574033 Another major piece of wrong info, please stop "bulk-production" of articles, and focus on quality control. Waqas.usman 22:12, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

You are doing work by adding details and clarifying info in many pages. I just created many stub pages. I do plan to go nback and info in those pages. Instead of making comments it would advisable to concentrate on one's work.
Siddiqui 22:19, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
What is this policy of dumping bulk of unformatted, unverified (often false) text onto new pages first, and then planning to go back? Why don't you admit your mistake that you're writing false info? Why don't you verify it before writing? Why not format it before saving the page? I try to concentrate on my work, i.e. adding more info, but your bogus info articles are hindering me, they're every where, from Chilas airport to Kaghan Valley, and ski resorts to National Parks. At least admit that it was wrong and don't do this low quality addition any more. I'll highly appreciate it. Waqas.usman 22:29, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Also, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE mention external links on the pages as a reference, like [Baltistan Wildlife Sanctuary]] and almost all other articles. Also, another good way to fill a page is to add "See also" section. Also, you should linkify the notable names in the article, and go to those article and give a reference to the one you've creating, like on Khunjerab National Park I linkified many mammals' names and went to their pages and gave a mention of Khunjerab NP on those pages, like Snow leopard. (Also, if your new page is not being linked to from any other article, the new page is pretty useless, all effort put in it will be of little use). Waqas.usman 22:35, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
This "dumping bulk of unformatted, unverified (often false) text" may lead to serious copyright problems if these texts were taken from non-free sources like newspapers, books or other copyrighted material. Please state where you got all this info from. --Denniss 22:39, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please note my first several posts on the issue, and چلاس should be the correct spellings... right?, and Airports in Pakistan: Salam. See Talk:List of airports in Pakistan. See Talk:List of airports in Pakistan and note how I sent my message in a manner that I didn't direct the fire at you, I was very polite and I wrote it as a request without mentioning your name, even though all the airport articles with false info were written by you (don't say it's not false info, it is false if it says PIA goes to Chilas Airport and There are plans to upgrade Mangla Dam airport). But as the list of such articles went on and on. I'm glad that you've half-accepted your fault, The source info in many cases may have been wrong.. And for the list of such articles, please revisit several lists you created

and many more, which I appreciate once again, and I repeat, is an excellent effort, but in a wrong way).

Please don't take it personally, but I think you should concentrate on quality, and on making more links from the new page to other wiki pages, and vice versa, and adding related images, because without an image an article seems dull. For example, compare this version with the latest: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Khunjerab_National_Park&oldid=47142360 Khunjerab National Park. And I did it all with a few hit-and-trial links on the Khunjerab National Park page, and then linking back from Snow leopard page (because if the new page is not linked from any other article, it's not as much accessible).

And, where images and info on wiki are not present, I add my own pics, and search for reliable references online. See these new pages for example:

I spent more than 12 hours yesterday and created only a handful of pages, including three of the above pages, but these pages look better, and have verified info. Waqas.usman 23:04, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I will work on them later this week.

User:Phippi46 edit

Hello Siddiqui. I was just contacted by User:Phippi46, and I see that you've been reverting a lot of their edits recently, to articles including Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Chenab Nagar. I believe I can appreciate the problems with the edits, but it would be helpful if you would explain your opposition rather than simply calling them vandalism or the work of a sock puppet. I know your patience has been tried, but failure to communicate will usually only make these kinds of conflicts worse. Regards. ×Meegs 02:48, 23 April 2006

Siddiqui, you miss my point. Whatever the quality or appropriateness of the contributions, they are not vandalism and should not be reverted without explanation. Please, in the future, explain reversions to the other editors in edit summaries or on talk pages. This is all it takes. ×Meegs 17:37, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yahya01 or Phippi46 ' The user Phippi46 previously posting as Yahya01 ([6]) probably Sockpuppet of another Wikipedian is again making POV changes in controversal page. It may start another reversion war in many pages. That will distract many Wikipedian into this controversy. I just wanted to inform you before I start reverting each and every modification of Phippi46 in all Wikipedia pages. Siddiqui 13:31, 27 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I know you are frustrated, and I appreciate you vigilance, but you are under the mistaken impression that this user's having edited under two accounts, at two different times, gives you carte blanche to undo all of their actions. It's good that you're aware of his previous account, and fine that you've labeled the old user page, but you have not described any behavior under WP:SOCK#Prohibited uses of sock puppets. For example, they are not evading a block or attempting to pass themselves as two people in a debate. You should not revert this user, or any other user's contributions without communicating a reason. ×Meegs 19:48, 27 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Pakistan edit

Please read WP:DATE. As I said in my edit summary, do not link individual years. They add very little context in terms of the year and its relation to the article at hand. Also, don't de-link dates. Linking dates are preferred. Please revert your edits and fix this. Pepsidrinka 00:42, 25 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I know. That is the problem. Years are not to be linked. Full dates are. Don't link 1999, but do link August 1, 1999. When you link the year, it adds little to no context. But when you link the date, it conforms the the date preference the individual user has set. Some users have it as 1 August 1999 while others have it as August 1, 1999. If you link it, it formats to the preference of the user. If you don't link it, it forces the user to read it a certain way. Please revert your changes and read WP:DATE. airblue destinations edit

Hi Siddiqui,

I dont think currently airblue deserves a whole article to itself for just destinations. Airblue's destinations are only seven and one planned. Therefore I feel at the moment we can leave it in the main article. Until airblue has over 20 destinations then i think it deserves its own article. Thankyou. Fast track 27 April 2006

Thanks for the reply, we dont even know if airblue will get the ten airbuses, have u seen the article on the official airbus website saying airblue has ordered ten airbuses. Until, the new fleet arrives i think its best to keep the destinations in the main article. We can always create a new page once the no of destinations start to increase.
For your information, there was a tag on the airblue destinations page, if you look at the past history, thats why i merged the two article. Also user waqas agreed they should be merged, thats why i put the destinations back in the main article.

Image Tagging Image:CarlaKhan.jpg edit

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:CarlaKhan.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Pepsidrinka 19:04, 29 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Siddiquibhai - I thank you for your barnstar award. I harbor a strong desire to visit Pakistan's length-and-breadth - absolutely fascinated by it! Alas, it is difficult for an Indian to obtain such an open-ended visa. Links on the Qadianism page edit

HI Siddiqui, I see you have been reverting the Qadianism page, my thoughts on this: All three primary Ahmadiyya pages (Ahmadi, Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and Mirza Ghulam Ahmad)have links to anti-Ahmadiyya websites. In the interest of maintaining a neutral point of view it is only fair the the Qadianism page has links to website from both pro and anti Ahmadiyya points of view. Also since the topic is directly related to the Ahmadiyya movement, it makes sense to add internal an link to atleast the Ahmadi page as a minimum. What do you think? List of Pakistani television stations and List of Pakistani television and radio channels edit

Don't merge. The Television and radio stations in Pakistan must have sepearate pages. Pakistan with five regional languages and 165 million people will have hundreds of radio and television stations. The online radio stations are also becaming easier and cheaper to maintain, soon people will adding these channels also. The mass media is exploding and one page will not be enough. We must have seperate pages:

List of Television Stations of Pakistan
List of Radio Stations of Pakistan

Re:Pakistan's population edit

Hi! Thanks for the source. It is indeed a great source and will help in other articles also. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 20:08, 4 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have formatted the citation in a better way.--Dwaipayan (talk) 20:16, 4 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok, that's fine. I see that the part you removed did look like crap. I reverted back. Next time please use an edit summary, explaining your reason for removing most of the content. Otherwise, the result is difficult to distinguish from page-blanking vandalism. — May. 5, '06 [01:11] <freakofnurxture|talk>

Category renaming edit

You need to go to Wikipedia:Categories for deletion and follow the instructions there.

Redirects don't work very well for categories, so renaming has to go through the "deletion" process too. You have to make sure each of the articles goes to the new name. If you explain it well and there isn't any problem with your new name, someone will probably "speedy" the change. Gene Nygaard 11:51, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Regarding Karachi edit

Hi! Please see a few comments added by me in the talk page of Karachi. May prove to be helpful. This article should be an FA. Already looking nice. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 18:48, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, that citation is a minor issur. But to get the article to FA status, imo, some structural reorganisation may be needed. It's better to follow some established pattern, say, city articles that are already featured articles. You and Green Giant (talk · contribs) being the 2 leading editors in Karachi, it shouldn't face much problem. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 19:03, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for diffusing the TV channels thing. I was trying to prune the lists of universities, sites of interest tv channels etc but now that Aursani has raised the point of those channels I have no objection to retaining them. I have already started on Dwaipayanc's recommendations by chaning Edicational institutions to Education and merged two sections to form a Culture section. Green Giant 22:39, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Siddiqui: The only Ahmadi whoever claimed that other muslims were unbelievers was Mirza Ghulam Ahmad's son. NO ONE ELSE. This is clearly illustrated.--AeomMai 20:51, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Qadianism and Islam edit

The status of Ahmadi, Qadiani, Lahori etc. has been settled by 1974 constitutional amendment. The only result of continued controversy will be negative for Qadiani community in Pakistan. The people who give any status to Mirza in their belief system are not considered Muslim. Siddiqui 00:59, 6 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

is this case not similar to Jehovah's Witnesses under the Nazi Government? Though Ahmadis are not Jehovah's witnesses, and Pakistan is not the Nazi Government of 1940, but it is similar, is it not? --AeomMai 16:50, 6 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

It was settled by everyone BUT ahmadis. ahmadis call themselves muslims nontheless, and are attacked for it, as stated in the ahmadi article. It is completely unfair to label them non muslim by the actions of a single government. What would have happened if the world had agreed that the Nazis were right? Amnesty International and the UN peace corps both claimed that the actions of the pakistani government were wrong. --AeomMai 17:08, 6 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

P.S- My use of Nazi is simply to compare the two in actions, though pakistan's actions were to a far less degree.

This is only some muslims belief. Others believe sunnis are non muslims. Others believe Shia to be non muslim. Still others believ that Wahabi are not muslim. Does this make it true? Can Shia muslims say Sunni muslims are non muslim? With topics like these, it can't be said who is right, just like Christians can't say muslims dont believe in god, muslims can't say anything to christians. It's all the same with a few changes. And kindly stop reverting my edits, they are small enough.--AeomMai 17:25, 6 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

i understand this well. he claimed to be non law bearing prophet, like Aaron (Moses' Brother...) . And that is even besides the point. It is all irrelevant. It does not matter. Everyone can have their own POV. Ahmadis think they are muslims. ok let them. It is their POV. Muslims think they aren't, ok let them, thats they're POV. Wikipedia is NEUTRAL. represent both sides. not one not the other.--AeomMai 20:31, 7 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sir if you kindly provide some more information on this matter, will be highly appreciated, as you said According to Islam Jesus Christ will return, but there is no mention in which form he will come back, second the problem is the Jesus was sent as a Prophet to the Childern of Israel, now when he will come back, is he still considered to be the prophet of Israel or Prophet of Islam, if he is still alive, as you belief, is he knows that Islam has came and is the last religion. in which form of his previous teaching, which he received from God will affected and which new teaching will be added to his new message and how the Muslim will unit on his claim on his arrival and accept him as the right Isa (Jesus Christ) and not a false one. As you mentioned above, he will not be a new Prophet, but he will remain a Prophet and according to Muslim Belief there is no chance what so ever in any case that a "Prophet" will come after Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), regadless in any form and if some one belief that, he is consider to be a non Muslim according to the Law of Pakistan, as you self mentioned in the Artical, if you kindly clear some of these question in artical so there will be a clear picture so any one can see the difference and understand better. You have alot of knowledge on this matter, so I think if you take little time on this subjec will reduce alots of Question. regards phippi46 11:24, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

The Wiki Pakistani Community edit

Hi Siddiqui,

Firstly, just like to say your doing a good job creating alot of awareness of Pakistan through all these articles.

I was wondering if you have seen the following page, its a place where alot of people work as a team to progress and work together on articles and images of Wikipedia.

The Pakistani community for sometime has been very dormant, as there were not many people here to write articles related to Pakistan. If you go the following "Project page" you will see a new community has been formed, where I think alot of us should asign tasks and work more as a community than individually. Here's the link;

Wikipedia:Notice board for Pakistan-related topics. Do take a look at all the other communities the way they are working to improve articles and promote their communities.

I think its about time we all do the same. As you may notice everthing is just been laid out, so now its our turn to fill the gaps. Do pass the word on to other Pakistanis and people working on Pakistani articles.

Many thanks, Fast track 06:59 08 May 2006 (UTC)

Here something that you may find usefull, as you seem to write many topics on Pakistan, this "Pakistan tasks" box can be used to organise what the article needs to corrected, improved and verified Pakistan tasks. --Fast track 02:02 11 May 2006 (UTC)

British English vs. American English edit

You changed the English style on the Pakistan article from the British English style to the American English style. Unless there is a compellling reason to make such a change, you should not do so. I'm going to revert your changes. The consensus for Pakistan-related articles is to use the British English. Pepsidrinka 20:40, 8 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Memon edit

Salaam..

(1) Memons don’t devote to Seikh Jilani – They may give reverent to Sheikh Jilani (2) Word pre-Islamic and past are redundant – it is polite way saying that the “Memons has retained many cultural traits from Hindu past – Would you please provide your source

I know several Siddiqui as follower of Qadiani, this does not give me right to conclude that All Siddiqui are Qadiani - Brother Farhan – the time has changed Muslims Umma is going through reform for many decades - Memons are not any less Muslims than Siddiqui, Qureshi, Shaikh and Syed. So please be fair and do your research.

Links on qadianism blatantly Negative edit

the links that have been placed at the bottom of this page are completely and blatantly negative to go so far as to declare the persecution claims false and Sir Zafarulla Khan a liar. This is too much negativity for one article! I would delete them, however you would simply revert the edit, so i am asking that this be replaced by a true link. This one shows no proof to any alligations of any sort.--AeomMai 22:24, 9 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

ALL of them have no point. they are just the re to be there.

As i stated above, they are not relevant. one talks about persecution. I balanced that out with a pro similar to that one. 5-4 is more fair than 5-3, no?

cease and desist edit

my edit to the qadianism page is completely fair and though positive, is still neutral. i added the link to prove the statement. kindlly revert it to its last form.--AeomMai 22:36, 9 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

link lies... edit

It is okay to represent your POV...It is Not okay to advertise lies in the form of "honest muslim opinion" links. Lies are lies, links should lead to points with evidence, not blatant lies. If the links are going to be like that delete them ALL. It is easier to get rid of the lies and the truth in one fell swoop. --AeomMai 22:15, 10 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Use of Categories edit

Salam! I've noticed that you have mentioned some articles under redundant categories, like Astola island under Islands of Pakistan, Geography of Pakistan and Islands. Please note that the category Islands of Pakistan already comes under the category Geography of Pakistan AND the category Islands, so you only need to put it in the best suitable node on the category tree, which in this case would be Islands of Pakistan. I've fixed it in this case, please note this point and fix the categories accordingly as you come across any articles. Thanks! Also, always remember to stub an article if it gives too little info (like Pakistan-geo-stub) Waqas.usman 23:09, 10 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Kizilbash edit

Thanks for your note. The article Kizilbash, on which I am working right now, is based on the authoritive Encyclopaedia of Islam and Encyclopaedia Iranica. The Alevis in Turkey are not the same as "Kizilbash", but descendants of a religious symbiosis between Safavi-Shias and Bektashis. Saying that "Kizilbash were Alevis" is like saying that the prophet of Islam was a "Wahhabi". While in fact Wahhabi teachings are based on the teachings of Islam, it does not mean that the first muslims were Wahhabis. The same goes to the Kizilbash: while today many Alevis are linked to the Persian Kizilbash army, it would be wrong to say that the Kizilbash themselvs were "Alevis". Tajik 16:38, 11 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thx for your reply. I know that many Shia sects are (sometimes wrongly) considered "Kizilbash". In Afghanistan, for example (where I am from), the term "Qezelbash" is referred to all kinds of Shia communities: native Shias of Herat, the entire Hazara community, Shias in Kabul, Shias in Qandahar, etc etc etc. That's why I am trying to improve the article Kizilbash in order to explain the wide variety of meanings this word has. Tajik 16:44, 11 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hello, it's me again. I thought that - since you're from Pakistan - you may have sources about the descendants of the Kizilbash living in Pakistan and/or India. Please feel free to add your information to the Kizilbash article. That would be great. Tajik 19:05, 11 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sectarianism edit edit

Hey Siddiqui; feel free to make all the edits to sectarianism that you want. Everybody agrees that it's an article that can use some work. However, I respectfully submit that your latest edit went way beyond "Wikify"! Please use more accurate edit descriptions in the future, especially when you're deleting material... Thanks for your understanding. QuartierLatin1968   20:18, 12 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

From your explanation, both of those deletions seem well motivated. I'm not disputing them! But "Wikify" refers essentially to formatting. Your edits are welcome; it's just your description of them that I found misleading. QuartierLatin1968   20:41, 12 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Pashtun Population edit

I can still remember, when you were empasizing about the Pashtun Population is about 3 million in Kararach, this is what I am in believe also, as a big gathering jirga held in Karachi under the banner of ANP (a political party) claimed that the PP is about three million in Sidh and majority of them dwell in cosmopolitan city of Karachi so I would love to see/make changes on main Pashtun article, which is still taking the glimpses from 1998 census of the city.
