Kapoor's intro edit

Hey Shahid,

I noticed that you had taken out the years from Kareena's intro. I think it makes more sense when the years are there. (After making her debut in the 2000 film, Refugee, Kapoor achieved her first commercial success with her second release, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai (2001). Her performance as a cosmetic beauty in Karan Johar's melodramatic Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) was praised and the film turned out to be her biggest commercial success.) In 2000 and 2001, 4 out of her 6 releases did well at the box office.

(After a not so successful attempt at achieving box office success) This sentence indicates that Kapoor had no box office success at all including 2000 & 2001. You can see the films that she did in 2002 and 2003 were all suppose to be commercial films. If we indicate those years, it shows that her commercial films didn't do well and that only in those 2 yrs she had no box office success at all, which is the truth.

2004 onwards she began doing films that did well critically well rather than achieve box office success. Kapoor did have some success from 2004-2006, provided they were not as big as K3G, but still films like Aitraaz, Hulchul, Bewafaa, Dosti: Friends Forever, 36 China Town & Chup Chup Ke (all commercial films) did decent business at the box office.

You've always helped articles become better and better, but I think that the yrs should be added to the intro.

Best Regards -- Bollywood Dreamz Talk 02:30, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Awards edit

Hey Shahid,

Thank You for helping with the edits on Kapoor's page. Do you think that it would be appropriate if we added the Filmfare Best Debut Award she won for Refugee and the Filmfare Special Performance Award she won for Chameli to the lead. If not, do you think we can add at least one of them. Preferably the latter because that film was the turning point of her career.

Regards -- Bollywood Dreamz Talk 19:27, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for appreciating my work. I would also like to let you know that you've been doing an excellent job on Bollywood related articles. You've really improved many articles!! Keep up the good work!! Regards -- Bollywood Dreamz Talk 19:46, 27 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Shahid, I noticed that you had added the Rajiv Gandhi Award to Akshay Kumar's awards section w/ a ref. provided. But when I checked out the ref, it doesn't indicate that he won the award. Regards -- Bollywood Dreamz Talk 19:06, 03 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hey Shahid, I just wanted to confirm something with you. It's about the release date of the film, Mera Bharat Mahaan. Indiafm gives two different release dates: The page with the release dates for forthcoming films indicates that it's releasing on January 25, 2008,[1] but another article on indiafm indicates that it's releasing on the 26th.[2] I added the 25th to Zinta's page but the film's page has the 26th. I don't want an edit war to occur because of this. What do you think?? Regards -- Bollywood Dreamz Talk 03:06, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Tamil films edit

Can you help to finish the cleanup on the List of Tamil films .cheers ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:40, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well yes but they shouldn't be regarded as not important. All that needs doing is adding the films to the tables. I've just added 1960 to List of Tamil films: 1960s. I agree some may need a fair bit of work But scruffy lists like these aren't a good look for Indian cinema or wikipedia. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:52, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK no problems. Maybe they aren't as popular or indeed as good as Bollywood films. Admittedly I of course have never ever seen a Tamil film!!! It is tiring yes formatting the tables but I guess I'll have to add some gradually when I have some time. Its just I don't like to see messy pages. Bollywood films 1930 to 1980 are also incomplete. It'll take time but we'll get there All the best ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:02, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ahhh!! I see what you mean. Somebody as messed up the titles so that often two films are titled as one -makes it very difficult to comprehend . The telugu films evne have entire sentences wikified!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:09, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Its giving me a headache!!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:12, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ever heard of Zeenat Aman? I've just been watching the 1978 film Satyam Shivam Sundaram on you tube. Seen it? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:53, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

We definately share the same taste in exotic looking women!!! The film looked great from the clips I've seen of it. Unfortunately youtube only seems to show clips of the musical parts of the film. I'd imagine the whole film with the dramatic parts would be terrific. I'll try to watch as many Bollywood movies as I can as it is only the Zee cinema channel in the UK and one other rare cable channel that show them. I'd imagine they are shown more in London where there is probably a cinema for the British Indian community that specialize sin the screening of Bollywood films. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:07, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh I added an image to the great Raj Kapoor - I think he was the first person from Indian film I had ever heard of. That name has been familair since I was about 10!!! However his filmo and that of Zeenat Aman haven't as yet been given the silver table treatment!!! If you could help me with this in the coming days I'd much appreicate it ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:11, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

A cool idea might be Filmography of Raj Kapoor on a seperate page with a full filmography as his page is quite cluttered with his awards also ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:14, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Cool. I'm about to watch Prem Rog and add some refinements. I'm thinking. Do you think we could think about putting the Awards in tables with the silver header also in general Indian bio articles?. Something like Award !! Year !! Award category!! Notes!!

♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:20, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I would suggest proposing it to the Indian cinema project and adding it as a long term project goal. Often the lists look very long for the more acclaimed actors. Ther eis a way a table could be created and the text could be written in small so it doesn't look so big or long. I've seen a bit of Prem Rog - I am amazed how many films are still missing for Rishi Kapoor for exmaple. There are a staggering number of Indian films!! I'll try to come up with a format later and if you like it it could be used as an exmaple on the main Indian cinema project page ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:34, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Any idea why they left wikipedia? There just doesn't seem to be as many people around anymore ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:50, 25 August 2007 (UTC) What about Haphar and Shakirfan? They seem to do a lot of work. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:09, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've just seen part of Mehboob Ki Mehndi also. Know of Rajesh Khanna? and that china doll like Leena woman? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:06, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Twinkle Khanna seems like a pleasant young woman. Isn't she married to Akshay Kumar ? Compared to some ugly British actors like Daniel Craig and Rowan Atkinson Bollywood actors look fantastic - in my view some of the most handsome looking on the planet. They look so glamorous. I mean if you had compared Shilpa Shetty in the BB house to the likes of Jade Goody -ughhghg!! - ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:18, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey I was talking about the women mostly and some of the guys also - I mean compared to some of the people in the British and America industry. British/US people look so scruffy compared to Bollywood!!! But come on any guy standing next to Mr. Bean is going to look good isn't he!!!!! Ha! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:45, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh did you know that 7 foot tall wrestler who was in that Khi .... (I can't think of the name) Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi film from 1996 Brian Adams (wrestler) died the other day? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:49, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ayesha Takia is another. Ah I've got some work to do now on Israeli cinema. -starting from scratch. UI'll get back to you later. LOL Adios ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:57, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

A lot of wrestlers die young. It is highly suspicious to me. Some wrestler last month killed his wife and son and killed himself. Either they are murdered by gang members, or as a result of taking what is obviously some hihgly dangerous drug to get to that overhuman size die early from heart trouble or related problems to their stereroids etc. He was in his early 40s I think - but these days a healthy 40 year old guy just doesn't die "naturally" without some damn good reason!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:03, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Have you seen Darna Mana Hai?? I saw it the other day and i have to say its one of the most original films I've ever seen. A fear of apples??!!! PLus I also found another image of the lovely Shilpa ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 11:41, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I also noticed the Filmography of Padmini is missing. She starred in about 250 films I think. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 11:57, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wwo check out the filmo for Prem Nazir - 500 + films!!!!!!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 11:59, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey this isn't a request it is just a !!films!!! ++++++. Crazy number of films. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:02, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Makes more sense to have the close up image in the top box. PLease restore the images as they were thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:22, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've amended it - the close up image looked awkard in the career sectiob but it looks much better now I've adjusted it I think. Well done of Raj I also have with the split and have adjusted the templates Todat I've begun filling in the American films check out American films of 1930 , American films of 1933.The entire series was created by me!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:27, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Reply edit

When I wrote "a feat she accomplished at other award ceremonies", it just meant that she won the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress at other award functions. Im not directing the comment towards the record thing but just on the fact that she won two awards in the same year. I think it deserves to be mentionned because she is the first actor to do it and there is no harm in saying that she did it at other award functions. In a way it summarises her award status at the point. Filmfare may be the "big one" but IIFA and Screen are gaining prominence steadily, the latter being governed by the Oscars...?? -- Pa7 16:52, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Im sorry but I hope you did not get the impression that I offended you by my reply? You said this That's what I meant and that's what I think, so I kinda got the impression that you were pissed off with me. Look, why don't we sort it out later because there are a lot more articles in need of our help. Regards. -- Pa7 18:04, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
LOL, Im sorry! I guess I misunderstood. No worries, will sort out the intro later. Regards. -- Pa7 20:48, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hey. Yep, I saw that picture, she looks like an actual Bengali, very nice and simple. Dunno what's going on with Amitabh Bachchan's hair though. -- Pa7 15:24, 3 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Edit count edit

I know I shocked myself with the edit count I thought it was still around 40,000. I feel quite embarrassed about it (its around 75,000 now) - I don' t really like people knowing as it makes me look like an anorak - but I'm not like this at all!!!! but I am very liberal with the edit button. Most are quick minor edits that can be done in a few seconds. I find I always work better when I do things quickly. If you spend an hour or two most days for several years on it believe me it all adds up particularly when my goals are to expand it and expand it!!!

I perhaps spent too long editing but a site which attempts to document the almost the entirety of the world and beyond I just find extremely addictive in exploring it and editing it!! I now watch hardly any TV at all only films as the Internet can show world tv at your fingertips!!

I feel quite proud of our combined contribution!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:33, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

In fact I was considering creating a sock puppet for minor edits to stop my edit count going up so high! Its quite embarrassing people knowing. Keep up the superb work yourself on Indian cinema!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:35, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Miss Zinta edit

Oh my oh my!!!! I've just looked through flickr for a free image but everyone of them has a strong copywright all rights reserved tag on them. Shame I'd like a gallery of images on her page. She is quite possibly one of the most aesthetically pleasing women to look at ever and she's a good actress!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:56, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've just been browsing and cleaning up the telugu list a bit and in seeing some of the articles they are shockingly terrible!!! It amazes me how many contemporary Bollywood articles on actors and films have the golden seal - a highly polished !! yet most of the tamil. telugu and malayalam articles are diabolical!!!!!! I know Bollywood is the main and most popular industry but the Indian cinema work group shouldn't neglect the other articles. They are wither polished articles or unclear stubs which aren't even written in proper english!!! I really think the INdian cinema work group should try to start developing the other articles. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:31, 3 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'll leave a message on the project page and indeed on the WP film page. They are some of the worst film and bio articles on wikipedia!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:33, 3 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well I don't like to see such uneveness!!! I've addressed it with both films and indian cinema so I tried! Its not only just the unwikified sub stubs but also the massive number of actual articles missing too and th untidy red links. Many don't have any links or context or categories - it makes me wonder how many "lost" articles are lurking in the depths of the database!! I'm gone editing crazy today - I formatted the entriely of the villages of France by country ready for starting and started a county of German localities. I also fully edited San Marino and added images to Grenada!!! I'm all across the world! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:04, 3 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Manisha Koirala edit

Hi. I just wannted to clarify that I am 100% sure that Manisha Koirala's first Bollywood film was Saudagar and NOT First Love Letter. Even though IMDB lists First Love Letter as her first film it is in fact Saudagar that was her debut film in Bollywood because many websites mention this as being her first film. So I think the lead section of Manisha's article should be changed to Saudagar. Thanks Shakirfan 20:10, 4 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Awards pages edit

Hey, got the message. What I don't get is why this user has decided to delete the Bollywood awards pages and conveniently left out the Hollywood pages. Im not being biased but the Bollywood ones are well sourced and reliable, compared to the Hollywood ones. I'll add my comments on the relevant page. Image of Sharukh Khan edit

That image doesn't seem to be a free image. It's not enough if the image is available freely in flickr (which apparently is not), but also we need confirmation on who holds the copyright of that image. If the user in flickr has actually taken that photograph and the copyright is with that user, they need to specify. However this image doesn't seem to be the user's own work. Inefficiency as an editor edit

Hi. its funny but I recieved a complaint from User:Girolamo Savonarola that I'm a very inefficient editor and am constantly receiving complaints about my work. He is under the impression this is true!!!! I don't think he realises how much work I've done quickly and efficiently ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:36, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ah this has to be one of the worst days on here ever ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:39, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I know extreme isn't it. Thanks. I feel much better today anyway. Oh I've given him a serious talking to. He has even attacked my lists including List of British films and List of Argentine films!! There are always some people who try to discourage you but luckily 99% of people have congratulated me on my work including tens of administrators. He always tries to throw an attempt I made about a year ago to split the enormous Category:American films into decades for easier management back in my face. Even now I don't see this as a blunder. I really hope he'll get over his perception of me. Anyway howz the work goin'? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 11:25, 11 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Reply (listen) edit

I just felt that the page was looking over-crowded and a bit too full of glorification. Its not like Veer-Zaara was a huge turning point in her career (in my opinion), but if you want to put it that's up to you. The article is being peer-reviewed so I'll put my thoughts on there later on. Also unless Zinta says, YES IM DOING THE FILM, then it would be acceptable to add. That is what I meant by reliablity such as this source [6]. I had a conversation with Zora about this years ago, that's why I raised my concerns. Also if you look at the upload form, you'll see that warnings that images that are unsourced will be removed. As for the KHNH poster, whatever. I was just raising my concerns. Regards. -- Pa7 17:00, 11 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

As long the reviews present some neutrality and we do not glorify her, then Im fine with it. Yes, I've read the first reviews of The Last Lear, I was gonna create a new section with the reviews but I'd thought I'd wait until the official release of the film, as the film just premiered. In which case, I'll wait until the film officially releases them add the response section. Regards. -- Pa7 18:11, 11 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
According to this source [7], Tandon says she took a two year sabbatical. That's why I added it. I was going to add the source to the intro but the last time I did that you removed it (Mukerji page). I don't understand, why do you keep reverting my edits? - Pa7 17:06, 12 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
The lead summarizes, just one statement about the sabbatical won't tarnish the article. I guess the sabbatical was 1995-1997, the source does not specify but she said she took one and got out of it when Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was offered to her. -- Pa7 17:21, 12 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Im working on Raveena Tandon's page anyways, want to expand it as its so deprived. Thanks for the comments. Look, I respect you as an editor but cause we have different opinions, there is bound to be a clash. Why don't you do whatever you need to on the Zinta page, I'll provide any input if neccessary and if I have any problems then I'll state them when your done. -- Pa7 17:56, 12 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I just felt you kept reverting my edits, but that's over and done with now. I know you do not own the page, cause if you did I'd be having a full blown spat with you. I'll edit when I need to on the Zinta page. Im concentrating on the articles that really need help for now such as Raveena Tandon which really needs expanding and referencing. Regards. -- Pa7 18:21, 12 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

What? edit

What is your problem? What's wrong with putting different names? I don't think you are a just editor. I don't think you have reached that level yet. But you should consult your seniors. For sure. And adding more information, since when has that become a problem on wikipedia, or an unneccessary thing? Please try to understand. If you are non-biased, then yu'd understand. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sunidhi123 (talkcontribs) 00:31, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry edit

I accidently removed the work you added for the references, sorry, I'll add them back ASAP. -- Pa7 17:37, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've had a look at Angelina Jolie's page, so OK, I'll leave the reviews alone. There may be some tweaks needed in some places but that can be done momentarily. -- Pa7 17:49, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Excuse me?? I believe I apologized to you for the references, and added some of them back. Im sorry I messed them up but the message you sent to me was downright rude. I have never used that sort of tone with you so I don't expect it to be used with me. The next time you say something as unpleasant as you did to me I'll ask for admin help and get you blocked. -- Pa7 18:57, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
What the hell has happened to you??? Why are you being so rude towards me? Yes, I know I did not do them properly, which is my mistake but there is no need for you to be rude to me. I have never ever been like that with you so why are you acting like with me? By saying what your saying, your attacking me personally and you could be blocked for what you say. I cannot believe that you'd say something like that to me. I know we had that huge spat before but I thought we were civil towards each other. Your definently out of line here and yes I will complain to the admin should you carry on. It's not your article mate, so for you to say that Im not improving it is totally wrong. As for me "annoying you", I haven't done anything to upset you or anyone else, so don't be unpleasant in what you say. -- Pa7 19:18, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Miss Zinta edit

I've uploaded an image temporarily where the licensing is not completely clear on it unlike the hundreds of others i've encountered. Unlike many other pages I have come across it doesn't appear to be protected strictly by copwright -it is loose. Hopefully this will buy time before we can be 100% certain that the image is compatible. We'll see what happens and if the image is quieried. Often such images like the one of Clark Gable in Gone with the wind was are tagged for months as unsure copywirght status . Its extremely difficult to find one like this for her ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:48, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

As I said it is an uncertain one we'll see what happens. If it gets tagged by the image patrollers within a few days then I can't really object if they are adament it isn't compatible. But for sure the image unlike hundreds of others I've looked at didn't have the official copywright label by it. It does make a huge difference to the quality but we'll have to wait and see. It buys time anyway until the commons eventually will lease one with completely clear status. I see you had a run in with Pa. These things happen don't they. I've just spent the last few days in a run in with Giro and another editor who tried to delete my efforts to add all of the List of towns and villages in Tibet. He put them at afd and the support to keep them was - well overwhelming. He was quite gutted I think that the support for them was completely in my favour!! Keep going. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:58, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

A user called Yamla has tagged it already. You know him? I suspect he has Zinta on his watchlist ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:05, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

From my own personal experiences both seem good editors I know Pa from a while back he's British Indian I think but with so many people it is often difficult for everyone to completely agree on everything!! Regards - hey have you tried your preferences setting with "cologne blue" and your quick bar fixed left? I've had it like this for about 5 months and it makes the site look completely different -you should try it ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:23, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I didn't like it at first - but I think the articles look much classier like this. It became a different site to me. I'm not a fan really of the wiki plain idea of graphics. I guess I'm just very artistic and want something grander and more richer looking. I even use a different main page Main page. If I had the chance I would design a grand new graphic for the site. I always work better with colour and vibrancy. I have one of those minds that is stimulated by strong visual imagery ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:41, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

One things for sure, plain graphics or not though you'd be amazed how much this site has developed in 18 months. I joined about March 2006 and I've seen it literally double in size and quadruple in the number of pages and edits. Theres so much still missing and that needs work but in my view its starting to develop overall to the next level I think. There is entire subjects covered on here that I never knew about or evne existed in abundance . If it continues to develop like it can only attract more people are grow even quicker. Its a genius idea I think. I sometimes smile at articles I've seen as one line stubs back last year and are now 40 kb FA candidates of the highest quality. I wish we got paid though!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:56, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I put the tag there myself as it is disputable. ~I hope ther eis a way to contact that site and request permission officially for it .

Licensing edit

Good news . I've contacted Aryan from the Bollywood site to request permission. I await an email from him. If he agrees I will ask him to contact wikipedia and allow use of the image officially if possible. I'm off to bed to anyway. Good night ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:11, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fantastic news I hope you are listening. I've contacted the site to request use of the image and they have not only allowed use of this image but images of all actors and directors that appear on the site!!! This would mean not only one would be allowed but several for Miss Zinta and for practically all our living popular actors and directors such as Aishwarya Rai etc etc. I am told by one of their top site personel that their images are exclusive to the site and taken by their own photographers in Mumbai and hence to not need to be protected by copywright,, and would be delighted to contribute to wikipedia with their images as long as they are given credit for them. Here is my email I received. I'm going to look for a top image admin who devendra from the site can contact formally or email to show that it is genuine to create a license from the site and that I am not lying. I've replied to them and told them how extremely grateful Indian cinema would be for use of living actors and directors but I have told them due to the fussy nature of image regulators on the site we need a formal clarification. Here is the email I recieved:

Hi James

Thank you for writing to Bollywoodblog.com

Our photographers are on the ground in Mumbai and all pictures to Bollywoodblog are exclusive to Bollywoodblog.

We would be delighted to assist you with any pictures of Indian TV actors or film stars you require for Wikipedia. If you let me know what you require specifically we can give you a release.

In return we would appreciate a link back either in the picture attribution or in external links to the actor profile pages on Bollywoodblog which are useful for wikipedia readers

e.g http://www.bollywoodblog.com/tags/Preity%2DZinta/

for more actors see: http://www.bollywoodblog.com/TagMap.aspx/

cheers Devendra

Now what do you think of this?? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 09:28, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Now the reason I am so happy about this is because I have received an email almost immediately that they would be delighted to providing they are attributed. This even include dimages of film premieres exclusive images that we would never dream of getting that can go in film articles also!!! Now there will be many users probably Yamla included who will think I am lying -well you know what people are like. As a result I'm going to find a top image admin or somebody from the commons that the site can email outsid eof wikipedia personally to authenticate it. I have drawn up a new licensing template Template:Bollywoodblog for starters. This will probably need "official documenting" but this is indeed the breakthrough Indian cinema on wikipedia we've been looking for. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 09:51, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

What is going to be easier I think is to give the Bollywoodblog Devendra's email address to Yamla and admin in the commons and to completely confirm the statement. If they follow it up and receive confirmation then it should clear with the commons. I don't think we should abuse the site in terms of uploading every image possible but certainly should explore what it has to offer and use what is of clear benefit and needed in our articles. As for admin myself it has as you know been suggested many times but I am far too humane for this !! I am too hot headed if people get in my way and mess with my work which hands down I will not tolerate. I prefer to contribute encyclopedically rather than bare official credentials and order others!!! I agree it certainly has its advantages though. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:12, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

She has agreed to lease the images under the Creative COmmons 2.0 but the only thing that needs sorting is the commercial license. At present they are now labelled as free to distribute but as non commercial which would mean that the commons wouldn't accept them. I'm gonna see what I can do with that and whether we can find an agreement to sidestep this and make an agremeent solely between the site and wikipedia ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:41, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Right Devendra has agreed to license the images to wikipedia only, under the Creative Commons 2.0. However she doesn't want the images used outside of wikipedia which means they wouldn't be allowed to be uploaded into the commons, but wikipedia only for use in enyclopedic articles. She would like the site to make an official licensing agreement with wikipedia. She said she wouldn't be back in the office until Monday but I'm now gonna find an image admin who can contact her and reach an exclusive agreement. The only thing is several of their images have a light bollwoodblog site marking on them. This doesn't really affect the photos but some may not be completely perfect. It is a breakthrough though ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:57, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

The only thing that is a gonna by a problem I think is that all images on wikipedia whether they are exclusive to the site or not have to be under a license where the conditions are completely free to distribute and modify the work with the article in accordance with wikipedia's GFDL policy which allows all its articles to be used commercially. Now the Bollywood site only wants them to be used on wikipedia. This I fear may conflict with wikipedia's licensing agreements. We'll' have to wait but I have a bad feeling this may be the only obstacle. I have my fingers crossed ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 11:17, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've done some looking into the licenses al the different variations and have come up with a template idea based on the Creative Commons 1.0 where attrubution is given and for distrubtion specific terms of use must be given. hopefully it will be approved by the Bollywood site on Monday. I've asked an image guy who has now seen the email outside of wikipedia and is chasing it up

I don't think so edit

I have better things to do then stalk you, so don't make yourself sound important. In any case you left my books a long time ago, so I really don't care if you write to me or not because I definently won't be conversing with you. As for my message to the user, I was merely correcting his mistake with my name and gender, and what I write to him is none of your buisiness. Also I do not need to justify myself to you. So I suggest you read WP:CIVIL in the meantime, since that's what Yamla suggested. Don't bother writing a reply. -- Pa7 15:56, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

LOL, You don't need to justify yourself to me, but that was exactly what you did LOL. As for the reply, of course I won't. --ShahidTalk2me 15:01, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Preity Zinta to GA edit

I've just seen your question from last night. In answer to your question I think you;ve done a terrific job on the Preity Zinta article - you're edit count for that page alone is huge !! You must have a extremely keen interest in her. From what I've seen of it is well structured and coherent with all the ingredients of a high class article and it is also well referenced. Now i haven't read it fully personally to check for trivialities but I definately think its worth proposing for a peer review to GA. Technically her article is under WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers which is a branch of biography. But for a GA peer review this is done for all articles under different categories. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:06, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ah. I just read some of the Zinta article. Content and strucutre is good but... Here's some pointers: The main problem will be the controversy section. For me there is too much info that may be seen as "gossip" rather than encyclopedic info. Some of the statements are quite strong and potentially libellous even if actually true. This would be the first thing the GA people would look at i think. Parts of the article are written like a magazine, words like possibly shouldn't really appear in an encyclopedia article as it should be based on pure fact. Also I feel some of the sentences need filling out and to flow.

What I'd suggest you do is contact the league of copy editors and ask them to help you polish it off to prepare it for a GA. Does this help you and I think your're going good ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:53, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Overall it is an excellent article and with a bit of polish should be up there. You may want to pay attention to the Alleged Affair section in particular whihc I fele may need additional references to support some strong claims. Hey she seems like a woman who kicks ass!!!! Its great she is a strong person to stick up for herself. Good luck editing you're doing very well, the above flaws or only very minor. You're not going to hear much from me for a few days as I am busy with the Tibetan stuff and stuff in the real world. All the best ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:02, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Monday (tomorrow) my dear friend. That's when she returns to her office in Mumbai. Hey sorry to brag a bit last night but I felt chuffed that I had completed all the missing Tibetan places which I have aimed for many months to achieve. Fingers crossed on images. Adios ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:26, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thats cool. One thing I've just edited Balraj Sahni and I've found some kind of space age filmography. Its the strangest thing I've ever seen for a filmography. If you have moment spare to sort it in the next few days then feel free to give it the silver treatment. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:50, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thats awesome great job as usual thanks!!!! And you added the full one too!!! KUTGW! I'm off to watch A Fistful of Dollars in about half an hour from 1964. Have you seen the Dollars trilogy? They are my favourites. My frequent use of Saludos amigo or adios is based on this or the character of Franz Sanchez!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:02, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Actually it ain't Hollywood!!. Man you really need to see these films. Look this is coming from me who has seen thousands of films. They are to best The Good the Bad and the Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West in particular. Bella Bella -they are Italian!!!! Directed by Sergio Leone of Italy filmed in Spain to double for the Wild West. Read all of the articles on Sergio Leone films including these, Once Upon a Time in the West and A Fistful of Dynamite and you get the idea. Oh boy you're misssing out!!! Go and get them now!!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:12, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm so relieved!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:16, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have long had a soft spot for Claudia Cardinale. I'm not so much into recent Hollywood films, I'm more a fan of the golden era of Hollywood of the 1930s and 1940s with actors like Clark Gable and Humphrey Bogart and John Wayne. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:21, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Looks like I'm stuck on here this evening. I shut the computer down and as soon as I opened the door a waft of intense smoke drafted in. Some stupid guy down the street is burning his trees and now the whole house and street is filled with horrid wood smoke. You know the thick stuff that gives you a serious headache. Some people just have no thought for others. My house is gonna stink for days. Luckily this room blocks out most of it ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:59, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Its actually the study on the middle floor of my house I have the computer in at the front. Upstairs is my bedroom that covers the area of the entire house and overlook the back. Have a look at the image on Vale of Glamorgan the trees pictured to the far left he is burning them down and its almost completely dark here now in the evening. Its like a horror movie scene and it is very dangerous if its spreads. I stepped out into the hallway a minute ago and it is like the house on fire its literally filled with grey smoke Ughhhhh ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:10, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

To be honest in thinking about it where I live is very good- it has all what you'd want for as home. In a quiet countryside surroundings yet only a mile or two from civilization and only 8 miles or so from Cardiff, and only a two mile away from the sea where I have a 4 X 4 jeep with a roof rack to fix my surfboard and have some fun when the tide is right. However - I've lived here all my life so I kind of take it for granted when compared to many places in the world and even in this country probably looks ideal to most people who lives in polluted cities. Personally I'd rather live somewhere a bit more exotic but we can't help where we are born or what nationality we are. We kind of gotta make the best of what we've been given and deal with it. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:31, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Gavin Henson I know very well through rugby at school , who has been dating the famous singer Charlotte Church for many years. I used to see the two of them with her annoying little cousin almost every week although I haven't seen them for almost a year now. It is a funny world we live in - Gavin has appeared on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross and so has Shilpa Shetty!!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:55, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Freedom of use for all Bollywood actors and actresses edit

A OK I think I'm just waiting for confirmation from Tim but they are agreeing to license them under 3.0. However most of the images have a slight marking on . PLease see Mallika Sherawat, Rekha and Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan and Kajol (very nice indeed) and let me know if you are pleased with it. Hopefully the image can be modified to remove the logo but stil credit the site in the image page ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 09:55, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Success!! We now have a database for images on all actors and directors and film premieres exclusive deal oh yeah which can be uploaded freely under the licensing. Here is the official clearance as I feel you as part of this deserve to know. SPECTRE you see was able to obtain an agreement through extortion to achive world domination and expand my empire:

I am a Director of Caledonian Publishing Limited, a UK limited liability company that owns the web site http://www.bollywoodblog.com We employ a picture agency in Mumbai to shoot exclusive pictures of Bollywood and Indian TV stars on sets and at press meets. Our pictures are unique and copyright is owned by Bollywoodblog. We have a great database of pictures of current Indian movie and TV stars.

James got in touch to say that he would like to use some pictures for his work on wikipedia. As long time users of wikipedia we would be delighted to allow the site to use Bollywoodblog's exclusive pictures.

James provided this template http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Bollywoodblog which works for us. We normally license our pictures under http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/2.0/deed.en (i.e. attribution, non commercial) but for Wikipedia we understand that you require a commercial license and so, for wikipedia only, we are happy to license under http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/

Let me know if I can help you with anythine else - we are delighted to be able to help expand the picture repository on Wikipedia.

Kind Regards

Devendra

Now I suggest you draw up a list of actors/ directors which are missing a main image. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 11:01, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

The more I've been searchign the site the more I've seen how many thousands of images there are. This is the best news isn't it -its like having our own cameramen!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 11:39, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

The images on that site are amazing. Check out the license on Preity Zinta image - there is now official confirmation at the bottom of the template which should silence the image taggers. I am about to upload an image of the Shetty family tell me what you think in a minute . I also just added a recent one of Dharmendra ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:57, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

PLease click the link to see the agreement:

♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:58, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well I'm sure all images can be modified to remove the light logo ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:05, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

The only thing is if you are strongly against the light marking then the number of images we can use will be very restrictive . There are a number of images like Zinta on the site without but most have the marking. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:09, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes I know of course images with the logo are going to look this way -I can see your concern for the encyclopedia completely. I hope we can find a way to modify the images to phase it out. We are permitted to do this as long as the source is still stated in the image page. This can be done quite easily digitally but I haven't the program to do this ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:48, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey not at all. But I feel the site has the light logo on them to try to prevent people from profiting from their images. We may have to use the images until we can get a completely clear better freely licensed image. The only alternative is to search the site for clear images of which there are many but as I said the majority have marking ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:59, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well I'm not going to be uploading many this is up to you nd the others to do . I have uploaded one or two with the logo on so far, but if I upload anymore I'll try to find clear images . ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:30, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hola. I'm getting WiseKwai to look into whether the watermarks like on Aiswarya can be erased or not. They are quite faint so I'm sure with paint art to you be coloured up to be completely clean. Pa is searching for some clear images now and has uploaded a few already ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:10, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Lovely you found one!!! -there must be tons of images ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:12, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ah no - see User talk:Wisekwai - i aim to get Kareena completely clear didn't I tell you about this??. For some of the fainter ones I'm certain this can be done within minutes!! There should be many images we can find. You don't have to keep warning me about the logo it'll get sorted ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:43, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Have a go at uploading some more Zinta images maybe one or two I wouldn't have five in the article however gorgeous she is!!! Adios and that guy stopped burning his trees down about 11 pm last night - there is now a gaping charred hole on the left side! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:50, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Its great to know though isn't it we have 5 possible images to add. This is the kind of freedom I was after - the wikipedia policy onimages is pretty tight! Good luck expanding! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:07, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've started a licensing file page at Wikipedia:Bollywood blog images as recommended. This should give it the official consolidation once terms are added and tag codes are added . Good? Plus see Kareena Kapoor now. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:01, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

PLease note Template:Cc-by-3.0-Bollywood-bg is the license now. Do not use Template:Bollywoodblog any more thanks. Just copy the Preity Zinta image page and it'll be correct thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:24, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Creating list edit

I know were not on good terms right now but I thought you'd like to know this. I have talked to User:Blofeld of SPECTRE and to make his and our uploading easier, Im gonna create a list on his secret note pad. I know you've uploaded images as well, so I have and so has BollywoodDreamz. The list will have all the actors that have or will need image uploads. Your contribution to the list will be helpful, so basically add any actors that need images and we can cross them out once their done. Im gonna start the list now, so we have a better idea of who needs images. -- Pa7 19:05, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've added a list on this page as well Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian cinema/Image sorting which should (hopefully) get more people involved. -- Pa7 19:33, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please give Dev Anand the silver filmography treatment when you have time thanks. Hope you are well ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 11:23, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

There is no wiki law against Controversy in articles at all - often on more controverisal celebrities there will be much information related to their antics which is in fact encyclopedic. However as I said before you need to be particularly careful with this section as it is venturing into difficult ground as you need to be 100% correct with anything and ensure that you give a neautral view - e.g not on the side of Preity Zinta but an even coverage of it. I would try to cut back on too many paragraphs but if you feel the info is important add it but use reliable refrences and try to not make it sound like the Bollywood blog!!!! Does this help amigo? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 11:52, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Exactly. Its probably because there is too much controversy, or it is biased or disparaging towards him or whatever and not neutral. For me this is the most difficult part about writing a biographical article -comments can't be libellous they need to based on pure fact and attempt to address a subject completely neutrally not taking the side of either. For me it is best to try to keep this section down to a miniumum and avoid too many quotations etc. Hey I've nearly uploaded every image on the list at present - its good to see images of more beautiful Indian models and actresses !! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:04, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

First of all you really need to address the Bharat Shah Case section. Note how it is written in a way that seems to be on Preity's side against other actors in the industry - it says about her courage "when other actors changed their statements etc" . This firstly need addressing. If the comment about "other actors" is mentioned it needs to clarify this and be based on precise fact mentioning these people with references but I should avoid this ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:25, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

E.g the sentence "Zinta was the only witness not to have turned hostile" is potential libellous against the other people involved as it is assuming criminality on the behaviour of the other people. Be careful ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:27, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ha I've just noticed how much Salman Khan looks like a younger version of Dev Alahan from Coronation Street!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:37, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes I checked out the references this is fine but I removed another sentence etc which I thought perhaps emphasised what she did a bit too much. If I have time in the next week I'll give it a full read and copy edit - it looks in pretty good order though. Yes usually that Dev Alahan wears an earing like Salman and often looks a bit younger than this picture of him - if you saw him ususually he does look very much like him -or perhaps his older brother or something!!! Jimmi the actor who played that soap character looks like a Bollywood actor anyway. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:49, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good idea I would say something along the lines of "Zinta is known for her outspoken views and public openness which have occasionally been surrounded in controversy". I think its time you uploaded several more images of her particularly of her with her boyfriend in that section ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:09, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I saw a bit of that video thanks -she is so hot!!! She is exactly the kind of woman I'd go for. I have to say she looks part Italian or Greek/Latino which are my ideal women. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:23, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ha LOL LOLO LOL. -this is good but make sure people don't get the wrong idea!! We wouldn't want our readers thinking she is a tranny like Dana International or something!!! LOL!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:30, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes indeed very funny. I would like to see that image of her with her boyfriend uploaded. I just got an anonymous request to start the article Grant Mitchell (actor) as that name particularly in the UK is strongly associated with the bald thug from eastenders Grant Mitchell (EastEnders)!!! DO you get Eastenders on BBC Asia or something? -Oh and where are you living you didn;t tell me? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:51, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wow you;re in Aussieland? This does clear some things up - i must admit in thinking you were in India often the times when you have appeared to be on the Internet when it has been mid evening here in the UK would make it like 4 in the night in India with a 7 hour or so time difference. i did wonder how you were on here in the middle of the night!!! One of those images was blurry I selected the best one thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:19, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

There are a lot of Indian australians I know. User:Riana on here is also. My great uncle Wesley Harris has lived in Melbourne for fifteen years ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:55, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yep this starting to look good. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:22, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good news. I've asked several respected users I know who helped me get Abbas Kiarostami to FA to review Preity and give any further pointers. I've also re contacted Devendra at Bollywood blog and she will be willing to give us requested images without the logo on next week as long as we give her a list of requests and not one or two. Good? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:46, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well its gonna need a lot of editing by others including yourself to attain the highest standard but theres no reason why it can't eventually. It's great you dedicate much editing time to that article but remember there are zillions of other pages which require more serious attention and are stubs!!! Happy editing! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:58, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Actor categories for deletion edit

I would really appreciate your view on Category:Western film actors and Category:Spaghetti Western actors up for deletion. I know you don't often comment in afds but PLease see Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 September 16#Actors by genre . The only alterative would be to create lists but I'd imagine these wouldn't suffice an article either. There are many actors associated with this genre including many who only appeared in them and I believe they are a very good asset for browsing articles related to the western genre and understanding the actors that appeared in them I'd love to hear your view on it thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 13:07, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks I know the genre is abit out of your usual expertise but I just happened to come across this in creating the article Marianne Koch a minute ago -it really does make me wonder just how much of this encyclopedia is being wiped out with us knowing about it just because a handful of people have no interest in the genre or subject. List of Western film actors has recently been created which is a good alternative if it provides a summary but it is in complete disorder at present. =Looks like I might have to develop this to hold on to something. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 13:29, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh I know. My personal favourites are of course Bruce Lee but then Steven Seagal and Dolph Lundgren ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 13:44, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I tell you what I'm getting damn tired of various things being up for deletion. Yesterday it was the western film categories which five or six people have now agreed to keep strongly today it is Template:Croatianfilmlist. When are people going to learn to stop interfering with my work and that they won't win ?? When anybody criticises I snap at them and they never win their cause. The name Blofeld should come with a health warning - support him or be eliminated!!! LOL ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 08:34, 22 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

More good news. One of those people I told you about has read the article and like me think it is actually beyond a GA already and almost ready for FA now we made those adjustments. I'd propose it for a GA asap. Then with some copy editing I see a potential FA. With Abbas Kiarostami it went from a start-B class to FA in two weeks.!! Keep up the good work on it . Let me know when you post it for GA review. Adios ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:36, 22 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good luck hermano ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:49, 22 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Requests edit

I have some major requests for you over the next few days/ weeks when you aren't preparing Preity:

Hey check out all the new images I added to Ho Chi Minh City!! Adios ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:54, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good work. Oh man I've been working on American films of 1940 -I find it quicker to go back and add all the cast later. I've found a way to preview it it now and then go from film to film and save about 20 at once rather than one at a time as I've been doing every few seconds. At that rate by edit count will surpass 100,000!!! It gives me a really good chance also to learn about more films from each year - I've now got 67 years ahead of American film ahead of me to summarise for the encylopedia!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:02, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I can't see it on the actual page but it could sound like this.

"She is well known in the Indian media for her straightforwardness and honesty expressing her outspoken views and forthright opinions in public, be it about her on-screen or off-screen life or raising a voice against any social injustice, which occasionally has been surrounded by controversy." Reference this but in the intro the first and last parts are repeated. You need to rmeove the last paragraph from the intro and intergrate this in with the first sentence . ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:08, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've done some rewording - it is important to make it flow. It is important to provide a neutral view even if she has had terrific success - the mention of her controversy should counteract any positive comments on her in the intro. I haven't time to continue copy editing now - maybe during the week ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:23, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not necessarily - but if you want to repeat it twice you are free to do so ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:43, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well it makes the statement and explains it immediately. I think the intro is very good now that you've also made those slight corrections. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:48, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

As long as you cite the last sentences about the controversy believe me it is a very good article and intro ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:57, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Miss Zinta is very successful but has she had any films which weren't a commercial or critical success? If so mention them to try to make it more neutral. If you count the number of times "commerical and critical success" are used now you'll see what I mean. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:03, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think you should discuss her awards more - rather than saying numerous others. Cleverly if we demonstrate some of the most prominent awards she has won this indicates she is hugely successul by fact without repeating that she is a commercial and critical success. Good? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:18, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

What? LOL!!!! Mate to be honest I'd forgotten about Zinta entirely!!! for the present I was just seeing about getting a stunning image of Mallika cropped with Wise Kwai. Now what could you have possibly have done to make me in the slightest bit offended or angry with you? Now have you kicked my cat Mr Bigglesworth or something and not told me? I'm here to have fun and build something monumental on a site which attempts to dominate the world in every possible subject. TV these days is crap over here, this is far better and most things are here at your fingertips. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:10, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

They were only suggestions nothing compulsory!! just some pointers to help give you a much deserved GA. I think moving onto something else would be a great idea!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:19, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I was going to request Chaahat - Ek Nasha earlier -is this a little raunchy? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:35, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thankyou for your efforts. Yes I was trying to find a way to balance out the intro as I was finishing last night -2007 stuff probably wasn't the best solution. However I added some extra references to support your claims. I now think most things are satisfactory. You should post it for a GA today. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:14, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Go for it. As a peer review it is likely anybody reviewing will give you some further pointers to correct and you can tick these off when completed. I would do it asap. Adios ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:54, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks -I have altered the header to silver though. Good work. I've just been chilling to some Hawaiian music on youtube by Jack Johnson and by the 57 stone man Israel Kamakawiwo'ole -superb singer but boy is he obese!! Of all the places I've ever visited I've felt most at peace in Hawaii on the island of Kauai - i feel privelaged to have been there.

Have you heard of Tia Carrere? She is Filipina-Hawaiian -I have a huge crush on her - that face!!Check out youtube(forgive the cheesy music though). ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:53, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Her and Preity are the type of women I go for. Exotic and Latino looking with long dark hair but are strong women which many other women would probably be intimidated by. Tia is quite like Preity with her strong will. Pretty hot stuff huh ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:05, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah she was in Showdown in Little Tokyo with Dolph Lundgren and Brandon Lee which both a pretty tough. She's a kind of a female action hero like Angelina Jolie or Michelle Wie. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:12, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Scout Taylor-Compton is a current GA candidate. Now compare the zinta article to this? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:15, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think it could reach FA within a few weeks -you edit it so much!!! The only thing I can see now is perhaps too many quotations. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:31, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Umm. Perhaps. There are a lot. Some of the longer quotations particularly in the controversy section are quite subjective for an encyclopedia article. This might be an issue other editors might highlight but I see very few flaws in the overall article. Maybe cut down on some quotations -particularly those that are several sentences. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:48, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes perhaps one or two of the longer ones. I personally think the majority are very useful in that they tell it exactly how it is. I don't think you have to worry much at all about it - I think its an A-class article and with some work over the next few weeks should get to FA evnetually. It would be interesting to see what some of the other GA editors think ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:03, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mmmm its OK but you see what I mean about too much narrative in places. Have a look at Wikipedia:What is a good article? and see if you think it meets the criteria ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:11, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Some more help for you:

Wikipedia:Reviewing good articles ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:14, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have seen that issue questioned in many articles that have been candidates in the past but I can't think of a specific one off hand. Occasionally it was suggested to avoid long narrative and concnetrate on prose which I think the article mostly does. I proposed it this morning for a GA regardless -we'll wait and see what others think. I think you'd be surprised that it is of a good standard already ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:29, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

The only quote I see falut with is this -it is too long. "Please do your homework before you report anything to the nation. You cannot target me and my boyfriend just because I am a film star. If you want to talk about me, then say I'm the most beautiful woman and I have the most amazing films. Why are you bringing in my boyfriend and me and creating this mess?"

Edit count edit

Ah I see well why didn't those edit count people tell me about this then!!. I kind of got the impression that user was making out as if I had had 40,000 of my edits deleted and that just because I had a high edit count I wasn't a good editor. It is so non important to me that I have never even looked at that calculator until now and only came across it by accident in seeing Nehrams2020 promotion. It's pretty useless!!! I just wish they wouldn't keep generating all these lists of wikipedians by edit count though every month. Thanks anyway. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:03, 26 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Clarification edit

Do you have a problem with my edits on the Zinta page? -- Pa7 18:15, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

No I don't, but I definitely disagree with the removal of this word. The text must be practical and deal with every topic the film/topic introduces, we can't write "it tells the story, and stars that and that... etc..". I don't want it to be superficial as it was before. Stories like this one have always been part of the typical Indian cinema, such as two brothers/friends loving the same girl, families in feud and their children fall in love. We say Zinta came with a new style, with controversial roles, with social taboos, but we can't glorify her by saying she always does that, and neglecting the fact that like many other actors she has the little corner of making classical typical cinema films, when the heroine has not so much scope to her credit. That's why I've added the fact that she has a little, underdeveloped role (yet well received). --ShahidTalk2me 17:32, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I see what you mean. Im thinking it like this, if someone who does not know Bollywood at all, reads that then it could be quite misleading, they might know what a typical story is, but you've added Indian now so it does not sound more one-sided. BTW, even though were not on good terms right now, you can write on my talk page. Were both professionals so, if you want to, you can leave messages on my talk page. -- Pa7 18:43, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I would have never taken your name to an admin, like you did with mine. It was quite an extreme of you, and if you were a professional, you would never report on me after having a little tiff. I can't forgive you that, and that's my honesty. I have no problem discussing things on article talk pages or on my talk page. --ShahidTalk2me 17:59, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, I tried offering you an olive branch and doing what Yamla instructed. Since were being honest, what you said to me that day was well out of order and unprofessional. I have not forgiven you for your behaviour either cause I felt personally attacked, even after I apologized, which is something I did not expect from you. I did whatever I needed to because I thought it was the right action to take. I do not regret taking that step. In the end I got some pretty good advice from Yamla and I carried on doing what I do best. I know Im a professional editor and that Im doing what I can to improve the articles. In a way, nobody can take that away from me. Regardless of the situation between the two of us, Im glad we both got to speak to each other about what happened. Nevertheless, what's done is done. Your terms are fine, if their is a issue regarding articles then I'll write on that page, and if neccessary then write on this page. -- Pa7 16:02, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Im gonna wait for a third/fourth/fifth opinion on this cause were not in agreement here, and it could go on forever. I saw this comment There were some nice days between us. These days are over, just like my respect to you. That's fine if you feel that way. I respected you for the work you did on the Zinta page, but I guess things change. I'll see what anyone else says on this first before I proceed any furthur. -- Pa7 16:05, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
This comment has no relevance cause I removed it at the moment it was added. I didn't want to offend you further that's why I removed it. I want the article to be a FA-class so I definitely oppose to have superficial statements without any interestiong points. --ShahidTalk2me 15:17, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia edit

Hi. I'm afraid I will be spending rather editing time on wikipedia in a few weeks time. I will be finishing my part time job and will need to generate some income on the Internet whilst I plan for my new full time career move in environmental planning in the future. I will be looking for a way temporarily to earn a lot of money from internet marketing -such as shame wikipedia doesn't pay!! -but I need to earn a living and wikipedia just aint helping me financially!! Hopefuly I can find a way of making a lot of money - trading on ebay etc -hopefully this won'ttake too much time and I can still help wikipedia for the time being. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:34, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes unfortunately I am going to have to find a way of making ends meet temporarily online. I'll have to devise a way of buying electronics in bulk cheapily and selling them at a profit or something. I have traded on ebay for a few years but only odds and ends. Potentially you could make a lot of money online what do you think -do you have any suggestions of where I could make some? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:11, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've heard stories about many making millions online and many earning like $60,000 a week with minimum effort. I'll have to use my brains to check everything out and find a niche in the market - examine high demand goods or whatever that I can make a lot of profit from and try to see what I can do. Potentially money can flow into your bank account with little or no heavy work. If I could get something set up I know I could be successful. What do you do to survive? Isn't your father a rich businessman or something? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:25, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ha, howz this for a cool name Tzihuactlayahuallohuatzin !! 25 letters long. It reminds me of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch in Wales !!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:43, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

It takes ages I'm afraid -nobody seems to pay attention. I do hope I can continue editing well on wikipedia- it feels a lot nicer editing if I haven't got money worries and I can relax. Hopefully I can find a good way to earn temporarily with minimum work so I don't have to completely stop editing. Hey I've nominated my Aaron Sapiro (a Jew) for a DYK - have a read it covers a great Jewish victory over Henry Ford and the American establishment. I don't often get around to writing encyclopedia articles like this as so much needs doing on film and geo places. Once the film lists and geo places are done I can concentrate on more writing which I prefer. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:18, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I love writing very much where I feel I can give people knowledge on a major site like this-this is what I love about wikipedia is the freedom to create articles which are automatically in front of millions. I keep telling myself to concentrate on this but so much work needs doing with films and places that this tends to dominate my editing time. All the best ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:35, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm very into European art and architecture and promised myself i would add all the painters and sculptors from Hungary which has some terrific paintings and sculptures. I really like creating those classic sort of encyclopedia articles like Zsigmond Kisfaludi Stróbl. It would be great to continue with some articles on actual paintings or sculptures some time of which there are zillions!! As for that FA actor I can't believe it -in my view its barely FA quality -its so brief -Zinta's is WAY!!! better. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:44, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I ought to have created a list -its good to go back and see what I've started but I lost count!! I'm just looking back now it really is quite diverse Mining in Wales, Ernest Chinnery, Transbordadora Austral Broom S.A., Phani Sarma, Wildlife of Pakistan, Cambodian Red Cross, The Temptress, 2007 Malaysian Porsche theft, Yak racing!! Why didn't I think of creating a list? - duhhh. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:56, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Keep in mind the page is already 57kb (the last time I checked). well over 20kb over the recommended article length abd shouldn't really be much longer. Also remember there s likely to be far more details of every aspect of Angelina's life on the Internet. I wouldn't be concerned with adding too much but it would be nice I agree to see more about her childhood . From my experience I don't think this will be an issue even for FA. On Abbas Kiarostami we couldn't find barely anything about his childhood but it was promoted to FA with the collobration with the great Iranian firend User:Sangak completely in favour. In fact Sangak reminds me very much of yourself ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:12, 28 September 2007 (UTC) ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:08, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well no we both indeed know it wouldn't reach FA yet. I do see what you mean about those sections and the brief but also remember many FA articles don't even have such sections. First things first lets get it to GA - I just wish somebody would review it asap and some people look at it to get some more views. Keep up the good work but I shouldn't go overboard in adding too much more content -just try to fill in with a bit more text what you can Adios ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:30, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Preity Zinta's article rocks! It's better than the Maddy article, I suggest you put it up for an A/FA article straight away. Sorry, about my lack of knowledge on Bollywood. I don't know -bubbly and dimples does sound a bit childlike. Hmm, Telugu films are cool....but I tend to watch Chennai/Tamil films more, cos of their lavishly made budgets. It's the claimed '2nd best in India' after Bollywood - and that's where Madhavan, Kamal Haasan, Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, A. R. Rahman, Sridevi, Mani Ratnam, Asin and etc. started their ploys before moving on to Hindi!. Universal Hero 17:36, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
It's pity about Manisha Koirala - she deserved much more! Her luck took a tumble after the 2001 film, Aalavandhan with Kamal Haasan. Another piece of trivia, is how heroines who have paired with Kamal in Tamil films seem to flag off. Examples include her, Simran Nawal (appeared in a few Hindi films), Sneha, etc. lol Universal Hero 17:54, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ha Evil Spartan do you not know about our license?? Possibly unfree (scoff scoff). I would love some time to develop articles on individual paintings and artwork. There are thousands of articles missing on paintings which could have excellent encycloepdic articles. E.g see Category:1570s paintings. Now if you think how many paintings that were painted in that decade even by each year you'll see how underdeveloped it is. Really there should be Category:1573 paintings etc and there should be several hundred articles for each year but there are only 3 for the whole decade!!! I'd love to get all the paintings and displays at the Louvre onto wikipedia.- a virtual art gallery giving info! I love artwork from the middle ages it is so beautiful. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:20, 29 September 2007 (UTC) Like this Image:Paolo Veronese 007.jpg -Venetian art - bellisimo ! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:23, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am very aware of these singers particularly Asha Bhosle who is an icon to British Indians also and is known very well by the general public over here. Whether its films or songs the output of the arts in India is incredible isn;t it. Some actors have appeared in like 600 films -30,000 songs is just -is this woman recordng every minute of her life without sleep? I remember [[Jonathan Ross] saying to Shilpa Shetty "They really churn them out in India don't they". But I guess it has a population now of 1 billion!!! I distinctly remember becoming familar with Asha Bhosle on a cd called Now 37 back in about 1997 who was the subject of a song called Brimful of Asha by Cornershop. "Brimful of Asha on the 45" Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow" -have you heard it. It was one of the most catching songs of the 1990s and recently appeared on Bulletproof Monk. !! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:47, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
