Your sandbox page

Hello, Sattari Malda, and welcome to Wikipedia. I have added a box at the top of your sandbox. This contains a link for you to submit the page for review as a Wikipedia article when you think it is ready. Please note, however, that articles are only accepted when they cite adequate sources to support the information given, and to show that the subject of the article is what we call "notable".
More information about article creation can be found at our "first article" page. There is more about Wikipedia editing in general on this help page. If you have any questions, the Teahouse is there to help newer editors. Regards : Noyster (talk), 10:03, 9 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please note, pages should always be placed in the most specific category and not in the 'parent' categories. Category:Villages in Malda district is a sub cat of Category:Villages in India by district, which is in itself a subcat of Category:Villages in India. Please see WP:SUBCAT for more information.   Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Sattari Malda, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you.

I have assumed that your edit here was made in good faith, but it contains multiple links to incorrect pages. For example Police station, which links to a general page describing police stations. It is not a subdivision, which refers to an administrative entity. Please see Template:Infobox settlement for information about what goes into the various parameters in the infobox. What is the point of writing Ganges (which should be linked) and then 'Canal' which you have linked again to a general page about canals? There are also multiple misuses of capital letters for things which do not have them, unless part of a proper noun, and misspellings...it's jurisdiction not jurisdission. Many of these errors had already been put right at least once so your edit must be seen as not helpful and if you repeat it might be taken as a deliberate attempt to compromise the encyclopedia. Please take care with future edits and if you are not sure about something please ask someone. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 19:02, 16 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello Sattari Malda, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Sattari Malda have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 19:11, 17 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Sattari Malda, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Jiam Momin (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who use multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. Cabayi (talk) 14:17, 27 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • In addition to the above, it seems that there is now a third account, here making similar edits to the same page or pages. Please heed the advice noted above by Cabayi and make the necessary disclosures. This is important so please do not ignore these messages. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 14:20, 12 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello, please be a little more detailed with edit summaries. Typing '123' as you did here and in the previous edit gives no indication of what your edit entailed. There have also been a number of edits where the ES has not been completed at all. Please remember to do this as it forms a part of the page history and informs other editors of what has been changed and why. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 12:52, 5 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Jiam Momin

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jiam Momin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sattari, Malda, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Binodpur G.P (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Proposed deletion of Jiam Momin

edit

Hello, Sattari Malda. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Jiam Momin, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Jiam Momin to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Thanks,

Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 16:04, 31 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
