Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Farpoint convention has been reverted.
Your edit here to Farpoint convention was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://farpoint.wordpress.com/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Proposed deletion of Farpoint convention

edit

The article Farpoint convention has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The event is a small, local convention that lacks notability. Fails WP:GEOSCOPE and WP:INDEPTH.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - MrX 12:49, 1 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

The event is not small and people from even Europe come to our conventions. We also have gotten many notable guest such as George Takei, DeForest Kelly, Billy Mumy, Felicia Day and many others. Our attendance is not low as we have an average of over 1,100 guests. We have gotten great reviews and people love our convention so much that a movie was made about it. Our sister convention, Balticon, is also a, what you would call, small and local. That does not mean it is. Just because the article is in the alpha stages does not mean this speedy deletion is advisable. If wikipedia advertises that it is easy for me to edit then why are you penalizing me and the rest of my committee from having a wikipedia page for our current and future fans to read about. My committee and I oppose this action.

License tagging for File:Farpoint Back Cover 1994.jpeg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Farpoint Back Cover 1994.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. Orphaned non-free media (File:Farpoint Back Cover 1994.jpeg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Farpoint Back Cover 1994.jpeg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 05:07, 12 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Farpoint (Convention)

edit

Hello Sarofynn. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Farpoint (Convention)".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Farpoint (Convention)}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 16:06, 31 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
