List of schools in Delhi

edit

Hello. Your recent edit to List of schools in Delhi appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 13:12, 3 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Govt. Co-Ed. Sr. Sec. School, Sector 2, Dwarka moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Govt. Co-Ed. Sr. Sec. School, Sector 2, Dwarka, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ─ The Aafī (talk) 14:36, 3 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Schools are not inherently notable and need to pass WP:GNG guidelines. I've moved your article draftspace where you can improve it by adding relevant information from third party, reliable and independent sources. Once you're done, you need to click on the "Submit your draft for review!" and if it is found to be in compliance with GNG guidelines, it'll moved to mainspace otherwise declined again for improvements. A look WP:42 may help you quickly what to do! ─ The Aafī (talk) 14:40, 3 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi, it seems you have tried to circumvent the draft process by recreating this article in the mainspace, after the draft was rejected as not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. Please read the message above for requesting help. Thanks (pinging reviewer to let them know) Steven (Editor) (talk) 19:52, 13 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks! VV 08:30, 25 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello SONIANKIT135! Your additions to N. V. Ramana have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Tayi Arajakate Talk 08:55, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Verifability

edit

When you update information in articles please can you give a thought to verifiability. Readers must be able to check that any of the information within Wikipedia articles is not just made up. This means all material must be attributable to reliable, published sources. Additionally, quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be supported by inline citations. Your edits would be much more useful if you cited the sources you used for the information you add. Also, when you updated the article on Allahabad High Court in April you changed information next to an existing citation.[1] The citation was for information added to the article in 2017, and was not relevant to the new information. The right thing to have done was to move the citation to the information it supported, and provided a new citation for the new information.-- Toddy1 (talk) 18:42, 11 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you are going to change Jammu and Kashmir High Court‎ in articles to something else, you need to provide reliable sources that explicitly state that Jammu and Kashmir High Court‎ is now called something else, and when this change took place. You have had the concept of verifiability explained to you before.-- Toddy1 (talk) 08:22, 17 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of C. T. Ravikumar

edit

Hello SONIANKIT135,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged C. T. Ravikumar for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
