Speedy deletion nomination of BODY CENTRAL CORP edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on BODY CENTRAL CORP requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. EINSTEIN NOAH RESTAURANT edit

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of EINSTEIN NOAH RESTAURANT, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.einsteinnoah.com/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on EINSTEIN NOAH RESTAURANT, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Welcome back edit

Welcome back. I hope you had a good Christmas. As you are probably already aware, about 62 articles written by you or those working with you have all either been deleted, are the subject of deletion discussions (see WP:Articles for deletion and the links at the top of the affected articles), or they have been proposed for deletion (see WP:Proposed deletion and, in some cases, the talk pages of the affected articles).

I would strongly encourage you and the rest of your classmates to suspend creating new business-related articles and suspend adding new content to business-related articles until you each get a better feel for what is and is not appropriate for a Wikipedia business article and what companies are and are not "notable" enough to qualify for an article about themselves (see WP:Notability and WP:CORP for help).

As a rule, a decent business article focuses on the major goods and services that the company is or, for products and services no longer being offered, was known for producing as well as the major impacts that company has made on the world, if any. Things like who the officers are and the company's current financial information is much less important. Yes, businesses articles typically do mention the CEO, the approximate annual revenue, the year the company was founded, where its headquarters are, and maybe even its ticker symbol and web site, but those things are merely mentioned, they are not given very much emphasis. It is much more important to describe what the business does and what the company is best known for than to have the financial information.

I would recommend you look at other business articles, but unfortunately, many of them are in sad shape. You might get some idea of what a very well-written article looks like by Thatgamecompany, which is a Wikipedia Featured Article, or looking at this list of business-related Wikipedia Good Articles for articles written about companies. Now, nobody expects you to go out and write an article that is as good as these, as only a fraction of all articles in Wikipedia are considered "Good Articles" and even fewer are considered "Featured Articles."

When you think you are ready to create a new article, I recommend that you create it as a WP:Userspace draft then ask the people over at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Business to review it. After they are satisfied that it is about a notable company AND that it meets at least minimal quality standards, move it to the main encyclopedia. But don't do any of this until you've improved your general knowledge of Wikipedia's rules and quality standards. If you need help, I'll monitor your talk page for the next week or so looking for replies to this message. After that time, you can reach me on my talk page. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 05:46, 31 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Template:Commonscat edit

Please don't add {{commonscat}} unless there is a relevant "category" of images on the Wikimedia Commons. As the Wikimedia Commons only hosts images and other files that are either in the public domain or which the copyright-owner has published the image or file under a "free license," images which would be useful on articles about companies would rarely qualify to be on the Wikimedia Commons so there would almost never be a "commons category" for such images. Exceptions usually involve companies that are so old that any copyright that existed on the image has expired, such as East India Company, or which the category is used to hold non-copyrighted or freely-licensed images of the company's products, buildings, etc., such as AT&T. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 06:44, 31 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

template: Eduction Assignment edit

Hi. Unfortunately, adding the template Education assignment to the talk pages of articles that have been proposed for deletion is not going to help stop the deletion process. All articles on Wikipedia must make valid claims of significance and importance and this notability must be demonstrated through reliable sources according to Wikipedia criteria for inclusion. Regular contributors to Wikipedia are volunteers just like you, and they cannot be expected to improve dozens of short articles created by educational projects.

It would be better if you would communicate with us and explain what your university project is. We could then offer some advice. You may also wish to to discuss this with the other students who ar collaborating on your project.

To understand more, please follow the links in the deletion notices. Thanks. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 08:45, 31 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Starting a line with a space edit

If you want to start a line with an indent, please put a colon (:) at the beginning of the line, not a space. If you put a space at the beginning, the entire "paragraph" will show up as a single line in the web browser, which means people with narrow web-browser windows will have to scroll left and right. Here is what a line with a colon looks like:

This is a very long line. It starts with a colon. See how it wraps when you shrink your web browser window, so you do not need to use a horizontal scroll bar?

This is what a line that starts with a space looks like:

Talk page templates edit

Most "talk page" templates, including {{WAP assignment}}, need to go before the first comment. I fixed up Talk:BankAtlantic for you. Please make sure any other article-talk pages that you've added talk-page templates to have them in the right place.

In general, the order is:

  • {{talk page header}} (this is rarely used)
  • {{WPBannerShell}}, only used if there are 3 or more WikiProjects. If it is used, WikiProject templates go INSIDE this banner.
  • {{BLP}} (rarely used, only for articles that are NOT about a living person but which have significant content related to a living person. Not used if WPBannerShell is present.)
  • Various WikiProject templates (embedded in WPBannerShell if it is used)
  • Other "talk page" templates like {{WAP assignment}}, {{old afd multi}}, {{old prod}}, {{old prod full}}, archiving-templates, table-of-content templates, non-visible templates (e.g. {{noindex}}) and keywords (e.g. __TOC__), etc. Most articles have none of these specialized templates or keywords.

The specific order listed above isn't a hard-and-fast rule, it's only what's commonly done. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 19:40, 9 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your advice. I have a question, if a talk page includes {{talk page header}},{{WPBannerShell}},{{BLP}} and so on. Is there a order fixed? Thank you! ReganChai (talk) 10:44, 10 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Auto Parts Network edit

The article Auto Parts Network has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subject fails WP:GNG and WP:CORP. Sources hugely fail WP:RS. Article thus fails WP:V. A Google yielded large numbers of promotional hits and quotes of stock prices but nothing that would ring the notability bell. Please expand this article with material backed by detailed in depth coverage from reliable and verifiable sources that establish the encyclopedic notability of its subject, or it may be deleted.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Span-America Medical Systems edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Span-America Medical Systems requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
