Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Infodyanmics, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Samuel Tarling (talk) 00:02, 10 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Infodyanmics

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Infodyanmics, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Infodynamics

edit

It is three years since WP:Articles for deletion/Infodynamics so you may well be able to make a better case now. I have restored the page to Draft:Infodynamics so that you can work on it.

As it was deleted after a deletion discussion, it should not be restored directly to the main encyclopedia. When your draft is ready, let me know; I may decide that it is now OK to go, but more likely I will list it at WP:Deletion review, the forum for appeals against deletion, or if I think DRV would say: "restore it and re-list for another Articles for deletion discussion" I may do that directly. Unfortunately I shall be away until about 25th August: if your draft is ready and you want to proceed before then, go direct to WP:Deletion review, providing a link to the draft, and explain that I am away and have told you to do that.

It may help if I tell you why I would say delete if the existing article were relisted at Articles for Deletion now, and I had done some research.

You say "Authors such as Dr. Ray Mansuri and Dr. Stanley Salthe also intend on further developing and popularizing such a term and concept with in the next few years." Good luck to them, but Wikipedia is not here to help with that. Relevant policy quotes are WP:NEO: "Articles on neologisms are commonly deleted, as these articles are often created in an attempt to use Wikipedia to increase usage of the term" and WP:No original research: "If no reliable third-party sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article about it. If you discover something new, Wikipedia is not the place to announce such a discovery."

For an article to be accepted, there would need to be evidence that Infodynamics is a term already in use, with a common agreed meaning, outside the small group that originated it. In searches like this I see mainly the same few names (Mansuri, Ceruti, Saithe, Rubin).

There are certainly several companies called by the name: Infodynamics LLC, Infodynamics, Infodynamic.net, Infodynamics.com; but it is not clear to me whether there is anything in common between their operations and Mr Mansuri's idea, or whether they have simply picked a trendy-sounding buzzword to use as a name. If the latter, their existence is no help.
