Yes; thanks, I have images lined up offline, but I do have to concentrate on projects that bring in money, and I don't have regular internet access, so it's queuing paitently on a computer in another location at this time.REH11 (talk) 15:55, 8 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Chris Rainey (Engineer) edit

Hi. Although CyKey and Microwriter seem to be notable products, I've had a quick look on the web and suspect that Chris Rainey (Engineer)[1] would not meet WP:BASIC. Of course, there could be further references not available online, or I may be missing something obvious. Any such article created containing questionable claims about notability would be likely to be proposed for deletion (via either WP:PROD or WP:AFD). In such a case, it's worth noting WP:NOTINHERITED. Regarding the incorrect linking to the American football player, the simplest thing to do (with the absence of Chris Rainey (Engineer)) is to remove the wikilinking from those articles, so the text simply shows his name. I hope that's useful, although probably disappointing. Cheers. -- Trevj (talk) 16:02, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Articles linking to him appear to be:
However, he's done more than that. He created the AgendA, one of the first* PDAs, and his website notes he coops in other projects. The trouble is, people only tend to talk about what they're pushing now, and he tries to discourage discussion of the AgendA because he doesn't make any money from it anymore. I notice it's listed as a variety of Microwriter, and it seems to be a different machine entirely. Perhaps it should have a separate article?
As far as I can see, the Microwriter was little more than an input device, with some memory and an interface bolted on, and the CyKey is just an input device, but the AgendA is a whole computer, running several types of software. It should be easier to find info on that than him.
That said, I can't find what exactly he's been doing the rest of his life, and the original point of my enquires was correcting a misleading link, so thanks for checking all this. I've now de-linked all occurrences of his name, as you suggested.
*The PDA article cites the first PDAs as being the Apple/Acorn Newton 1987, and PalmPilot 1997. So I suppose it's the second.

Er, how do I delete my user subpage on him?
I tried http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:REH11/Chris_Rainey_%28Engineer%29&action=delete and it said only an Administrator can do this.

I've added another ref, but there doesn't seem to be much else in terms of reliable sources online. Regarding User:REH11/Chris Rainey (Engineer), you can use {{Db-u1}} if you're certain about losing the content. But AFAIK it can stay there indefinitely if you believe there's a chance of including further refs. Cheers. -- Trevj (talk) 14:57, 9 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
