Hello again!

(Svar på följande)

Hej!

Trevlig sommar! Qed237 (talk) 19:03, 26 July 2016 (UTC)

Change on Spanish Football National Team

Hi Qed, I do not understand what regulation I have violated on the newest edition of the page Spain national football team. There are many autonomous communities in Spain, and many different ethnic groups of people. It is better to let people know about the regions and ethnic groups of Spain. I am a great Spanish football fan, and I think it is better to add a flag icon in front of the name of the players. The flags are determined by blood and place of birth. Many of my friends who are also Spanish football fans like the new edition. So I hope the edition can be accepted. Thank you. Tom930629 (talk) 05:19, 26 July 2016 (UTC)

We should be careful with displaying flags and adding flags is against standard for these table as well as MOS:FLAG. Reading WP:FLAGPLACEHOLDER clearly states Subnational flags (regions, cities, etc.) should generally be used only when directly relevant to the article. Such flags are rarely recognizable by the general public, detracting from any shorthand utility they might have, and are rarely closely related to the subject of the article. For instance, the flag of Tampa, Florida, is appropriately used on the Tampa article. However, the Tampa flag should generally not be used on articles about residents of Tampa: it would not be informative, and it would be unnecessarily visually distracting. Qed237 (talk) 10:57, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for you patience on explaining this to me. I understand it now. Tom930629 (talk) 16:12, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
No problem. Let me know if you have any more questions. Qed237 (talk) 19:04, 26 July 2016 (UTC)

Roman Minsk (talk) 14:16, 30 July 2016 (UTC)

@Roman Minsk: Sorry, I dont speak that language so I do not know what you are saying. I am guessing this has something to do with your edit at 2016–17 UEFA Europa League qualifying phase and play-off round and if so, it would be best to discuss this at the article talkpage. We have conflicting sources and by practice we follow the official source in these cases. Qed237 (talk) 17:03, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
1. Website dinamo-minsk.by is the official website of the club Dinamo Minsk.
2. I gave you the link to the video. Watch this.
3. Stop undo my edits. I brought irrefutable proof. What are your questions?Roman Minsk (talk) 19:22, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
@Roman Minsk: You are trying to introduce a change in content against the official matchreport from UEFA. If you want it change you need reliable sources and WP:CONSENSUS. WP:BRD might be a good read, and if you continue to change the content without consensus you may get blocked. Qed237 (talk) 19:54, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
I have proven that the site of the UEFA made a mistake. Website Dynamo is a reliable source. I write the TRUTH and I will blocked?!!! Could you specify the video where Bykov scored a goal?Roman Minsk (talk) 20:12, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
As I said, nothing will be resolved at my talkpage. This is a discussion related to the article and should be discussed at that talkpage. Qed237 (talk) 20:21, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
What do you want to discuss? You have no proof. Only UEFA website.Roman Minsk (talk) 20:25, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
Which is the official report for the match. Qed237 (talk) 20:27, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
This is also the official report. I wrote the link to the video. It proves that the website of the UEFA made a mistake.Roman Minsk (talk) 20:32, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
UEFA are tournament organizers and their report are the official report. Since you refuse to listen, I will make this very clear. I will not answer any more at my talkpage. All further discussion should be held at the article talkpage, as this is a content-related discussion for a single article. Once again, no more discussion at my talkpage. Please just tell me how can I send you a message or something, because you are annoying me man... EVERY SINGLE THING I HAD PUT IN THE PAGE OF FIRST PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE (BULGARIA) WAS MADE BY HARD WORK FROM MANY PEOPLE. WE WANT TO PUT AS MUCH INFORMATION ABOUT PARVA LIGA AS MUCH WE CAN, AND EVERYTHING WE WRIGHT IN THE PAGE IS COMPLETELY TRUE - THE INTRODUCTION, THE HISTORY, THE COMPETITION FORMAT, ABOUT THE DERBIES, BROADCASTING RIGHTS, SPONSORSHIP RIGHTS AND SO ON... @Vilian.vasilev95: To talk with me, the best way is to talk with me here, at my talkpage, without WP:SHOUT (do not write in caps, I can read). Also, you have been notified that wikipedia is built on content from WP:RS (reliable sources) so if you want content to be added you need to provide reliable sources. Edit warring

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.Roman Minsk (talk) 21:21, 30 July 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the information, but note that you are the editor who wants to impose a change against the current sources and I have told you to go to the talkpage first. Qed237 (talk) 22:08, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
Qed237, I'm going to be blunt here. You are lucky that you weren't blocked. An admin might have looked at your block log, decided that you were edit warring yet again, and blocked you. From WP:EW: "An editor who repeatedly restores his or her preferred version is edit warring, regardless of whether their edits were justifiable: "but my edits were right, so it wasn't edit warring" is no defense." And "the editor who wants to impose a change against the current sources has to go to the talkpage first" is preferred, but not policy. If you keep this up, you're going to get yourself blocked with any appeals being denied and I don't want to see that happen. --NeilN talk to me 11:42, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
@NeilN: Note that my previous block was lifted immediately and it was completely incorrect (multiple editos came to my support) and in my mind I wqas only reverting vandalism then. But I get your point. Qed237 (talk) 11:48, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
I'm familiar with your previous block. I was the one who helped get it lifted and not because it was completely incorrect. Note what was said in the unblock statement: "I'll take you at your word that you recognize the mistake. I don't see it as clear vandalism since it's a dispute as to the team name..." If you think that block was completely incorrect then I think there's going to be more ANEW reports for you to deal with in the future. --NeilN talk to me 11:57, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
Someone was changing the content to the incorrect name on purpose not to match the page title. That to me is vandalism. Qed237 (talk) 12:00, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
@NeilN: A question? Is Softlavender allowed to do this without consensus at the talkpage? In my mind we always use the version before the edit war started until there is a consensus to change. Qed237 (talk) 11:54, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
Yes, they've broken no policy. Surely you must know that type of edit happens a thousand times a day on different articles. --NeilN talk to me 12:01, 31 July 2016 (UTC)

Player nation

You are the one reverting my work, so you are the one that is edit warring, not me so nice try there. As for Julian Green, different case. We're not talking about a player that has just declared to play for another country, we are talking about a player who has applied to FIFA to have his international allegiance changed from France to Algeria and FIFA has accepted and made the switch on their end (as announced by the Algerian FA). As such, he is no longer eligible to represent France and is only eligible to represent Algeria. He is an Algerian footballer now. TonyStarks (talk) 01:32, 2 August 2016 (UTC)

@TonyStarks:. Read WP:BRD, you were bold (B), I reverted (R), now you discuss (D) and find consensus. I opened a discussion at WT:FOOTY. Qed237 (talk) 10:25, 2 August 2016 (UTC)

Template:2016 Kazakhstan Premier League Regular Season table

Hello, Qed237.

Can you help me with Kazakhstan Premier League Regular Season table?

Now in this table: "Rules for classification: 1) Points; 2) Matches won; 3) Head-to-head points; ..." and Tobol on 6th place with 8 wins.

But on oficial site and on UEFA site: Aktobe on 6th place with 7 wins.

Maybe criteria "Matches won" is not primary criteria from current season?

GAV80 (talk) 19:23, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

@GAV80: I will take a look when I have the time (very busy now), but indeed it looks like "Matches won" or "Goal difference" is not the first tiebreaker, but Head-to-head is. Qed237 (talk) 20:05, 7 August 2016 (UTC)
@GAV80: If you look at http://pflk.kz/rus/docs#league=2 and then the top left document [1] I think that is the rulebook. If I take google translate on it it looks like we should look at section 12 and then 12.6 to find tiebreakers. I dont have more time at the moment so if you could look yourself that would be great, otherwise I will have to do it later. Qed237 (talk) 21:02, 7 August 2016 (UTC)
Qed237, thank you for information. I changed table. GAV80 (talk) 03:30, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
Qed237, GAV80, I reviewed the changes you made and compared them to the Kazakh Premier League 2016 rules (that pdf) file. Your changes are correct, 100%. Keep up! — Preceding unsigned comment added by TimKaz (talkcontribs) 18:05, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

Mens football in the olympics 2016 edits done - undone why ??

Hi , I received you note on "one or more" edits of mine recently done,in which you in particular mentioned the edit on mens football in the olympic tournament 2016. What exactly occured to you the problem ? I simply filled in the files based on the results in the tournament ( actually just to make Portugal follow suit with the edit someone other already did with Nigeria) Just as Nigeria was at the time of the edit done, as well Portugal certain to end group play on the winner place in their group (D). Just furthered theese facts to be reflected in the templates ( flag icon, group winner name etc) of the knockout stage page, like I said, exactly like with Nigeria already fixed. Am I wrong in claiming that in groups of 4, when P beats A1 and H, A1 and H beating A2 dure the first 2 out of 3 rounds, this inevidable leads to P as eventually group winner irrespective of any results whatsoever in round 3 ? Someone other had infact already tagged Portugal with an "A" for 'advanced to next stage', and as according to the tournament rules, in case of equal standings pointswise the mutual results will determine the final standings.( which meant that Portugal could not be surpassed ) Why would you want to do the work twice ??Flight714 (talk) 12:37, 11 August 2016 (UTC)

@Flight714: Now I dont know exactly what edits you are talking about, but after the matches of 8 August it was clear that Portugal had advanced to the next round as they would finish in top2 of the group. However they had not won the group as both Honduras and Argentina could theoretically pass, as goal difference in all matches is the first official tiebreaker (not head-to-head). Vandalism

You do not own the templates just because you have edited in the past, my edits improved the template. Sounds to me like you are getting a bit precious and who the hell are to threaten to block anybody. My contribution was not certainly not vandalism User:Djln Djln (talk) 00:41, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

@Djln: No I dont own the templates, but consensus say that they are deprecated and that Module:Sports table should be used instead. By the way, they split was really ugly made (my POV) and does not follow MOS. Some serious caps issues (ie. Final Table) and some content regarding teams that is not related to the league season. Qed237 (talk) 00:45, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
  • That's just your POV which in my opinion is BS, please try writing in English and not in Wiki jargon and i might be able to understand what your trying to say. User:Djln Djln (talk) 00:56, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
  • You have some balls calling me a vandal, you have just vandalised the main page. I will be taking this to the main football talk page. DjlnDjln (talk) 01:05, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

@Djln: Okay, I will try and explain. Since English is not my first language, let me know if there is something you dont understand. On the football project tables were discussed a few years ago and it was decided to use a new module instead of having a table built on several templates. Also it is an attempt to reduce the amount of fb team templates. The module should be easier for editors to update. When it was fully developed and demonstrated, there was a consensus not to use the old tables anymore and to use the module instead. I can not see how your edit improved the league table? Regarding the season articles, you could read MOS:HEADCAPS that says Use sentence case, not title case, capitalization in all section headings. Capitalize the first letter of the first word, but leave the rest lower case except for proper names and other items that would ordinarily be capitalized in running text. together with explanations. And it is an article about the League of Ireland so what happens in the European cups does not belong on those articles. Qed237 (talk) 01:07, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

@Djln: When did I vandalise the main article? Qed237 (talk) 01:08, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

  • I disagree with just about all of above. Point about capitals is fairly petty to be honest, you vandalised article by removing the section about Europe which is totally relevant. This section was already included in article before I edited it. I just tidied it up. And similar sections have been included in earlier seasons long before I edited them, will you be vandalising them as well. Djln Djln (talk) 01:25, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

The article is about the League of Ireland and not UEFA Europa League and Champions League. That content should be on individual team articles and EL/CL articles, not on the domestic league article. Qed237 (talk) 01:37, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

  • According to who exactly, that's just your POV. Not everybody agrees with you or they wouldn't have been added in the first place Djln Djln (talk) 12:34, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

@Djln: You can always look at the league season Manual of Style Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/League season. Qed237 (talk) 12:43, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

  • That MOS is just a guideline, nothing says you have to follow verbatim like some sort of robot, and that you can't expand on it. The European games play a major part in the League of Ireland season and should be included. Djln Djln (talk) 12:49, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

@Djln: I invite you to discuss at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Irish season article Qed237 (talk) 12:52, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

  • Thanks for your recent recent contributions to Wikipedia. You must be so proud. Editors like you make it all worthwhile. I don't know what real editors like myself would do without your help. Will you be continuing to vandalise my contributions. User:DjlnDjln (talk) 20:20, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

Have I ever vandalised? The football project completely agrees with me, that article is about the domestic league and not result in European competitions. Qed237 (talk) 20:43, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

  • Yes you have vandalised the 2015 LOI articles. Your edits on these pages are at the very least negative. I find this very disappointing. Wiki should be about spreading information and not censoring it, which what you have done. You had a majority of the football project but not all contributors agreed with you. User:Djln Djln (talk) 14:39, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

Stop kidding yourself and just read instead. Your persistent behaviour even when proven wrong is amusing. Now stop vandalising my talkpage. Qed237 (talk) 15:42, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

  • You a fucking prick as well a vandal. If you object to being called a vandal, stop behaving like one, asshole. Djln Djln (talk) 21:59, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

@Djln: No personal attacks, and as you have been exaplained, it is not vandalism and other editors also removed in when you reinserted it. Stop acting like a child just because you dont agree with consensus, everything cant always go your way. Qed237 (talk) 22:58, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

  • You have absolutely no authority to block anybody, get a grip of yourself. Vandalism is vandalism, just because you have managed to convince a group of other editors to join you in doing it, does not make it OK. Your still a vandal. Me the child ! Your the one acting like a bully in the playground and not liking it when someone stands up to you. DjlnDjln (talk) 23:06, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
  • So I am not allowed express an opinion because poor Qed237 gets upset ! I find it quite upsetting to have perfectly good contributions removed for no good reason. Plus if you check the edits you find that Qed237 labelled me a vandal first. Why hasn't he been blocked ? Djln Djln (talk) 00:10, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
    • Djln, he used a vandalism warning template when he probably should have used the disruptive editing template if he wanted to warn you. However he has not referred to vandalism in this thread (except once) whereas you have continually used that term and resorted to blatant personal attacks. You can express an opinion, but comment on their edits, not the editor. --NeilN talk to me 00:19, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

@Djln: Could you do me a favour and just move on. Nothing good is going to come out if you keep hanging around here to harass me. The community has spoken and decided that the content about European Competitions should not be included and to use module for tables. Deal with it (instead of turning your agression against individual editors). Qed237 (talk) 00:42, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

@Djln: Sorry, messed up the ping. Qed237 (talk) 00:42, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

2016-17 Premier League

Hi. I removed the location column from the 2016-17 Premier League as the information listed was factually incorrect which is of course not Wikipedia's aim. Manchester United are based in the metropolitan borough of Trafford, Greater Manchester - hence the reason it's called Old Trafford. Just because Manchester by virtue of being founded in the city however this does not mean the club is based in the city. I appreciate you are not from the United Kingdom and your limited awareness of such geography is understandable but I politely ask you to stop putting incorrect facts on Wikipedia. If the location column is to remain then the correct location should either be Trafford or Greater Manchester but I strongly feel that would open a pandora's box on which is preferable (i.e. constants edit changing between Trafford/Greater Manchester (and Manchester which is incorrect as discussed) and consequently have removed the location column for avoidance of doubt. @GanjaCaliphate: I can not answer for every other article (WP:WHATABOUTX), but I agree that some sort of consistency is a good idea. Normally we pipe the F.C. and A.F.C. so Arsenal F.C. becomes Arsenal and so on. However, AFC Bournemouth is a special case (an exception to the "rule"). It was discussed at the talkpage at one of the earlier PL seasons (Talk:2015–16 Premier League#AFC Bournemouth or Bournemouth and after that we started using AFC on the league articles. For example one editor stated he got a confirmation from Premier League that Opta control the feeds for the some of the stats and information on our website. As they refer to AFC Bournemouth as Bournemouth this means it is displayed on our website as such. Where we have control over the content we will be displaying the clubs name as AFC Bournemouth. Also if you look at the Premier League handbook for 2016/17 season (found here), the first club listed (on page 3) is AFC Bournemouth and no other club are displayed with their "short letters" but AFC Bournemouth is. Qed237 (talk) 13:15, 1 September 2016 (UTC)

Okay i understand now sorry my bad, another you forgot but that makes sense is premier league tables they are written as A.F.C aswell. iv'e changed an Arsenal F.C one just yesterday and i guess it annoyed me that people keep messing the consistency up. i actually knew about their name change from 1972 but didn't think it applied to this but A.F.C is also in their badge. Thanks for taking the time out to explain this to me, take care matey — Preceding unsigned comment added by GanjaCaliphate (talkcontribs)

@GanjaCaliphate: No problem. I know it can be confusing and in the Premier League discussion my first opinion was to remove AFC, but as I say in my last comment I surrender, the more I look they are actually called AFC Bournemouth. There will probably always be different opinions but I think it is best to use AFC Bournemouth. Qed237 (talk) 13:52, 1 September 2016 (UTC)

Tables

Thanks for reminding me about timestamps, I forgot them :) About orders of the teams, I intended to change them, but I went AFK for a while and could not finish soon enough. Anyway, thanks again :) Finally, I also like to update those tables when possible, and I guess you cannot be awake all the time, so I hope you take it easy when conflicts occur, or we can make an arrangement to avoid them. Template:2018 FIFA World Cup qualification – UEFA Group E table

Hi, sorry but I do not understand your question (and the rest?). Did I miss something? Centaur271188 (talk) 19:01, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

@Centaur271188: The position parameter was forgotten. Compare your edit with my edit (or this comparison). I told you about position only a few days ago. Qed237 (talk) 19:07, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
Sorry again, that time I thought you were talking about "UPDATE positions below (check tiebreakers)", not "Remove this when teams are no longer tied". I overlooked that part because it apparently does not affect the display. Centaur271188 (talk) 19:17, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
@Centaur271188: Okay I understand. And it does affect the display, it corrects the numbers in position column. Qed237 (talk) 19:18, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
Ah, now I see the difference. Thanks for your explanation. I will pay more attention next time :) Centaur271188 (talk) 19:30, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
@Centaur271188: No problem. It is not easy when you dont know about it and I could have been more clear last time. I blame my busy schedule (my fault). Qed237 (talk) 19:43, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

Need help against vandalism

Hello, Qed237. I need your help. Page 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup. One user from Peru from different IPs very often do vandalism on this page. Can you help me? GAV80 (talk) 18:49, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

@GAV80: I have put it on my watchlist and also asked for the page to be protected. I will keep an eye on it. Qed237 (talk) 18:52, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
Thank you! One interesting question: how many pages are in your watchlist now? GAV80 (talk) 18:54, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
At the moment I have a little over 4300 pages, but that is too much when I reach 3000-4000 I always try and "cleanup" my watchlist down to about 1000 pages (it depends on how many I find to remove). I have a lot of user pages after giving vandalism warnings via twinkle (they get added to watchlist automatically), so removing those reduced the numbers fast. Qed237 (talk) 18:59, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
@GAV80: forgot to ping. Qed237 (talk) 18:59, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
I see my watchlist: now 1056 pages. GAV80 (talk) 19:06, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
@GAV80: Okay that sounds good. Honestly, I dont know what a good number is but I think it is good to try and keep it short. My watchlist is so full I dont have enough time to check all edits I want to look at, and it only make updating the watchlist slower. Qed237 (talk) 19:09, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

@GAV80: FYI, I just cleaned my watchlist and it got from 4300+ pages to 1011 pages, and everything goes a lot quicker. Which I had done it sooner. Qed237 (talk) 15:56, 6 September 2016 (UTC)

How to put the home kit on the Kosovo national football team without the company logo? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dardn2015 (talkcontribs) 20:19, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

@Dardn2015: I dont know, and that is why I have not done it myself. You have to create and upload new shirts and sleeves and everything, unless an logo free version exists somewhere. Qed237 (talk) 20:22, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

3. Liga

I haven't corrected the dab corrections done to "3. Liga (Germany)", i.e. Special:WhatLinksHere/3. Liga (Germany) in the template namespace. In case there's further dispute, I'm refraining from undoing the dabs for now. Just FYI — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 20:48, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

Answer

Re your reversion of my edit: the user had been warned (level 4 for vandalism --- by you) and so I was not going to take any chance that this edit may have been unconstructive too, especially since no edit summary was in use, and it looked odd (the changing of the numbers). So I hope that explains things for you. —MelbourneStartalk 12:47, 10 September 2016 (UTC)

@MelbourneStar: Okay I understand. The issue (explained to the editor multiple times) is that he does not update the dates (timestamps) especially in the infobox but for that edit the timestamp was updated. Qed237 (talk) 12:49, 10 September 2016 (UTC)
That may be so, and I understand the frustration. But, what I, and I'm sure others, don't appreciate is the fact that the user has been warned with a level 4 vandalism template warning (which ought to be used for serious vandalism, or after the 3 preceding levels of vandalism templates have been used). When we use Huggle, we are alerted to all of this user's good-faith editing mistakes — when we could be alerted to actual instances of vandalism. For example, had the editor in question made the same edit (that I had reverted) and I was not alerted that he had engaged in vandalism of some sort, I would not have doubt their edit. In future, would you be able to be a bit more vigilant when using a level-4 warning straight off the bat? Kind regards, —MelbourneStartalk 13:01, 10 September 2016 (UTC)
@MelbourneStar: Sure I will keep that in mind, but he has been given warnings about it in the past and most importantly warnings in writing instead of putting template after template, so I think a level4 warning was warranted. Qed237 (talk) 13:50, 10 September 2016 (UTC)
I think that's a great idea that you personally write out warnings. Using Twinkle, you are able to both warn an editor with the template message, in addition to writing out an optional explanation. Huggle recognises template warnings, not optional explanations/warnings, unfortunately. —MelbourneStartalk 14:00, 10 September 2016 (UTC)

Zlatan

You have the wrong idea my friend, i thought that guy was a disruptive editor but as the manchester derby was end to end and too entertaining like an idiot i forgot zlatan scored.. that's why i stayed away from zlatan's page afterwards. My bad for the misunderstanding (Plus i only called him a donut, not really abusive) — Preceding unsigned comment added by GanjaCaliphate (talkcontribs) 15:32, 10 September 2016 (UTC)

Still do not know what you have said there, but I would like you to help us on that. Can you please go there an give us your opinion and make the ping happen. Thanks, Osplace 20:05, 11 September 2016 (UTC)

@Osplace: Without a fresh signature pings do not work. Read WP:PING that states Note that the post containing a link to a user page must be signed; if the mention is not on a completely new line with a new signature, no notification will be sent. It must also be in the page text; links in the edit summary do not create notifications. More details are available at mw:Help:Echo#Technical details. Want to help test advanced new tools planned for Recent Changes?

I’m reaching out to you because our logs tell us you’re a very active Twinkle user (top 25, actually!). The WMF Collaboration team is working on new tools that we hope will be useful to people engaged in reviewing recent changes, fighting vandalism or supporting new users. We want to test them for usability with editors who are experienced with relevant wiki work. If you’re interested in helping to shape this new technology—we’d like to hear from you.

The testing should take about an hour, will be conducted online, and will take place during the next few weeks. To participate, please email dchen[at]wikimedia.org with the subject line Twinkle User. Include the following information:

  • Username
  • Email where we can reach you
  • Your city or time zone
  • Best time to talk to you
  • Your primary use of Twinkle or Recent Changes (e.g., reviewing recent changes, reviewing with a particular focus (specify), anti-vandalism, new-page review, welcoming new users, etc.)

Thanks! Dchen (WMF) (talk) 17:44, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

OK QED, we and User:MYS77 give up even though we agree that it's useful to have both wikilinks, the competition per se and the season of competition, you folks can have it the way you want, at least i promise not to edit that bit anymore. But could you reinstate the full stop at the end of the sentence if it's not too much trouble? Thank you.

Done. And I can understand that you want to link to the season article, but there must be a better way than to "hide" it behind match result. Qed237 (talk) 20:47, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

Disruptive Edit?

Hi Qed237. What edit did I make in Premier League 2016-17 which is deemed 'disruptive'?

Kind regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by SHANTERCHIPPO (talkcontribs) 14:54, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

Answered at your talkpage. Qed237 (talk) 20:27, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

Please don't threaten me

I realize you like to threaten people and force them in a corner and rip them of their privilege but I don't like your attitude or tone towards me, please comment on the talk page of the respective articles, as I have gave my reasoning in the Elneny page and now you are stalking me on the Eminem page, what kind of problem you have ? I will remove your threatening edits from my talk page as it's my sanctuary. Alexis Ivanov (talk) 01:04, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

@Alexis Ivanov: I dont find it threatening to leave a level 2 warning when you do the same disruptive edit over and over again. You have to stop and find consensus (WP:BRD). Qed237 (talk) 10:44, 1 October 2016 (UTC)
I'm giving you warning here, because your tone was threatening and now you are telling me some level number that I don't care as your defense. It could be level 0 or level million my objection still stand, you didn't give any commentary of my edits on the talk page and chose instead to vilify me and threaten me, again watch where you stepping at. Alexis Ivanov (talk) 18:44, 1 October 2016 (UTC)
@Alexis Ivanov: I advice you to discuss at the article talkpage and it was a standard warning from Twinkle. Sorry if you felt that was threatening. Qed237 (talk) 10:33, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
@Alexis Ivanov: And stop accusing me for vandalism. You know very well I explained myself at the article talkpage, yet you keep adding unsourced content to a BLP. You are very disruptive and close to being blocked. Qed237 (talk) 10:38, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
@Alexis Ivanov: And I am tired of your bad behaviour towards me, I have done nothing wrong with my behaviour, just like an other editor expalined to you. If you want to be aggressive when talking to me, then I will start losing my temper and thewn you will feel my anger. Qed237 (talk) 10:45, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
@Qed237: I feel you need to tone it down a notch or two as well Qed - the summary for your last edit to the article goes WAY over the line IMO. The situation had been largely rectified and yet you, for some reason, felt the need to resort to the behaviour one would expect of a schoolchild. As I said to Alexis on my talk page, we don't achieve anything by throwing around petty insults instead of working together. douts (talk) 11:24, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
@Douts: I hope you can understand that it is not my usual behaviour, but repeated accusations from Alexis Ivanov calling my edits vandalism and so on really pushed my buttons. If he wants to keep calling me different things I am able to respond in the same way. Qed237 (talk) 11:28, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
@Qed237: Yeah I understand that, and I advised him to be less confrontational and aggressive as well since at that point you hadn't done anything to deserve it. Might I suggest both yourself and @Alexis Ivanov: mutually agreeing to leave the article as it is now for a while since the issue has been largely resolved? douts (talk) 11:41, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
@Douts: I dont see any reason to edit the article at the moment (unless stats for todays match may need adding tonight). Qed237 (talk) 11:50, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
@Qed237: @Douts: I will stop accusing you of vandalism when you stop vandalizing the article, you want your source, ask nicely, you want me to edit the infobox I forgot contained the name of the players ask nicely. Not only that you are still keen on harassing and carrying your anger even after I left the article, I came back solely to reply to your insult. If you can edit the infobox you don't have to call me, so we can watch your baby-steps in how to act like an adult. For fs. I will leave this article based on Mr.Douts comment, and I agree with him on the matter to mutually agree on it. Alexis Ivanov (talk) 00:00, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
@Alexis Ivanov: Please read WP:VANDALISM since you obviously dont understand what it is. And since you dont seem to understand what we say, I think it is best for you to leave English wikipedia because you do not have the WP:COMPETENCE. We have explained the issue so many time that either you dont understand or you dont want to understand. Qed237 (talk) 10:16, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
@Alexis Ivanov: Looking at your reports at ANI when others has complained about you, I would not be surprised if you sooner rather than later come in contact with an admin that blocks you indefinately. Qed237 (talk) 10:24, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
@Alexis Ivanov: Qed237 (talk) 10:24, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

@Alexis Ivanov: was about to report you to WP:ANI when I saw many other threads involving you, including Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive928#Alexis Ivanov's comments on my talkpage. Here editors voted to kick you out of wikipedia permanently, but it was decided that you would get a mentor instead (probation). So for that reason I will see what your mentor User:Irondome has to say. @Douts: what do you say, time for ANI again? Qed237 (talk) 10:41, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

What is going on here? Can I have a brief overview of the latest issue here please. Alexis Ivanov Alexis do not return to old ways. Qed237 what the hell is going on? And no ANI talk please. It can be resolved here. Note to all. More visits colleagues take to the boards, the more their credibility in the community drops, whether they be "right" or "wrong". There should be a study done on it. Now explainations with solutions please. Here. Simon. Irondome (talk) 14:28, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
I dont believe another ANI is warranted over such a minor issue, especially since tempers have flared on both sides. Further to my suggestion above, I would propose both parties voluntarily refrain from editing this or any other Arsenal/Egypt-related articles for a period of time. Not as a sanction in anyway - tempers always have and always will flare occasionally in community settings - merely as a way of allowing the tension and conflict by (hopefully) not crossing paths for a while. That said having briefly skimmed through the ANI discussion linked above, I think any further anger/civility issues should be referred back there. douts (talk) 16:28, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
I would agree with that. Would suggest a 1 week voluntary agreement by all parties not to edit any of the articles that are in dispute. Then we can take it from there. I would sincerely ask all parties to agree to this, as a strong sign of WP:AGF. After a week we can discuss the issues dealing with one article at a time. No edits should be made on those articles under discussion until the issues are resolved. If the involved parties could agree to this here, that would be very helpful. This must not escalate any further. Life is too short for this crap. Irondome (talk) 16:38, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

@Irondome: I explained some of the issues at Talk:Mohamed Elneny (in my first edit). Alexis Ivanov repeatedly tried to change the fullname of a WP:BLP (from "Mohamed Naser Elsayed Elneny" to "Mohamed Naser Elsayed") multiple times ([4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9] ) without providing any source, also making the errors pointed out in talkpage because he just restored his version (removed good edits in between without looking). He did not open the talkpage discussion until after his fourth edit, and when I gave him a level 1 user warning for the disruption on a BLP (diff) he started accusing me of harassing him and vandalizing. Since then he has refused to listen and understand the arguments at the article talkpage (language issues). Clear battleground behaviour. Qed237 (talk) 16:45, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

@Irondome: I usually dont edit egyptian articles, just sports related articles (among those, Arsenal), but I wont edit much this coming week anyway since it is an international break. Qed237 (talk) 16:46, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

Invite to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:14, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

@TonyStarks:. Read WP:BRD, you were bold (B), I reverted (R), now you discuss (D) and find consensus. I opened a discussion at WT:FOOTY. Qed237 (talk) 10:25, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
